    Robbie Vincent played this on Radio 1 in February 1984. I still have the cassette and I eventually found out who and what it was. Awesome track!

    NORIKI" was formed by Soichi NORIKI (key) with Masayoshi IMAIZUMI (ds), Haruo SAKAI (sax), Toru TATSUKI (g), Ryuji HISASUE (b), Hirotsugu NAKAI (g) and others. Their second album "DREAM CRUISE" released in 1984 is now available on CD with the latest remastering in 2021 exclusively at Tower Records.
    Soichi NORIKI's career has included playing keyboards in prestigious groups such as Sadao Watanabe, Terumasa Hino, George Kawaguchi, and Toshiyuki Honda.
    He has also participated in Tsunehide Matsuki's What Is HIP? and Mariya Takeuchi's works. He also participated as a keyboard player in Tatsuro Yamashita's live tour, and played on Tatsuro Yamashita's live album masterpiece "JOY".
    He also participated in the recordings of various other artists such as Yasuko Agawa, Yutaka Ozaki, Keiko Lee, and Michiko Takada.
    He has also worked on film music, including Yoshimitsu Morita's "Kitchen" (1989).
    This second album is a masterpiece of Japanese urban mellow fusion by Soichi NORIKI, who continues his energetic activities to this day, under the name of his own leader group "NORIKI.
    The album includes the urban fusion "NIGHT LIGHTS" featuring Yurie Kokubu on vocals, the light and mellow "YOU CAN MAKE IT", "ON THE STREET", "EASY WAY" and other fine tracks. Susumu Kazuhara (tp), Jake H. Concepcion (sax), and Nov Saito (perc) also participate as guests.
