Your XG brought me here so you checking out different cultures is why I'm requesting this. There's a group from New Zealand who's 2 main band members was a chieftain. Group is Alien Weponry- Kia Tonga,,,,, they sing in native mari language!!! Worth a look my dude!!
Am a LONG time listener and the only way to fully understand this group is to : 1) read up a little history on Siberia & whats happening there now as well - 2) back track your way through Otyken's catalog of music. The different member lineups are all excellent. A different sound in the beginning but the same concepts none the less. Unique and no one else like them. Awesome music!
This brings us back to our roots, first of all we are people (and only then engineers, managers, financiers, lawyers.....)! different nations have their own traditions, the more you get to know them, the richer and bigger your soul becomes!
I forget what songs you already reacted to so far, but here are some must do's. Pulse, Paradise Lost, Step, and their new song Belief. Their older stuff with the older lead singer is good too though as well. They are all so talented.

You could also try Necry Talkie's "You Should Head North". It's this japanese band.
