  • Hello All!
Dissembled the Chinese PE-4x6 crusher and I am sure glad I did! The bushing lube ports were FULL of Metal Shavings, Oil and crud! I was aware of these kind of issues with buying a Chinese Jaw Crusher and so it was always my plan to run through this thing and ensure all is correct before using. This PE-4x6 is very heavy duty and looks like it will serve my needs for many years!
Disassembly Cleanup Paint Inside Lube Yeah Baby!
    Thanks for watching!

They are grease cups, the idea is to fill the cap and screw it on, giving it a couple of turns a day, I work on bigger jaw crushers and you don't grease the wedge (tapered bit for adjusting jaw gap) because all the force of crushing is applied to the adjusting bolt instead of the friction on the wedge face holding it.

Thanks.. I figured you put oil or grease in these cups. I wasn’t familiar so installed grease fittings.
I’m gonna leave in the grease fittings I installed as they are working well and so far no mess with oil or grease getting into the crushed ore.
Only greased twice so far. The first time it was oily but no grease so I it took a few pumps to fill up. The second time it still seemed well lubed.. but wanted to push out any dirt, I just pumped in a small amount and wiped off the excess slightly dirty grease.
So far it’s been a good jaw crusher!
      Busting Rocks!
      Thanks Mr Sock

Hi like the videos i was looking at making one of these thanks for a brill break down and a great look inside. As for the oilers you can get caps that you screw down with grease in them but it reminded me of my friend who builds steam traction engines from the ground up. He uses them oilers and fills them with oil. He says it does several jobs keeps clean oil flowing through over prolonged periods of time ie on a road trip but also the oil that is silt out washes away and dust and also lubricates other parts as it runs down the machine. That makes more sense to me as i use to have to grease the machines up at the start of the day never gets greased again until next day an we use to get through a lot of bronze bearings. my money would be on oilers.
Mind you good job you took machine apart as that swarf in the drilling would of ripped your bearing up in no time grease or oil lol.

Hello Darren, I thought about the same thing.. oil keeps washing out the grit and dirt. However I was worried about getting oil into the crushed material. So far the grease is working well and I’ve had no issues getting lube into my crushed ore.
Maybe in a production environment oil may be better? Not sure totally. Anyway it’s easy and fast to grease also rate after greasing I wipe off the expelled dirty grease keeping the crusher oil and grease free!
Thanks much for your terrific comment!

I fired up the jaw crusher the other day and the diesel started dripping oil from the valve cover. When purchased an extra valve cover gasket came with the engine. 😳
They’ve apparently had trouble with leaking.
I removed the valve cover, cleaned up and resealed with The Right Stuff Gasket maker. During this I checked the oil and it was Over Full? I didn’t over fill? I found that I left the fuel On.. has a on off fuel valve.
I believe the diesel fuel slowly leaks into the crankcase when left On! After a few months oil level is too high.. pressure is too high.. valve cover gasket blows and leaks.
I have not started or drained and replaced the oil yet.. just repaired the leaking gasket.
Before starting I’ll change the oil.. should be okay if I turn the fuel off.
      Thanks

Did the epa say anything about the motor?

      @ProspectorTripp  2 года назад +2

Hello Brian, no they did not. I’m sure there is some agreement with the import duties guys that gets them Paid.
Diesel Engines like all combustion engines are Noisy, oily, stinky, requires a lot of maintenance and so so powerful. Because of these reasons, I recently removed the Diesel engine and am replacing it with a used 5 HP electric motor. The electric is quiet, reliable, has no emissions, almost no maintenance and is much more powerful.
Still working on the solar power system to run the crusher and the entire trailer!
Over the last year I completely converted our Shop and Home 100% to Off grid Solar Power.
I used as much recycled materials as possible and DIYed everything!
Our system is very powerful and cost 75% less than having a comparable system installed.
Doing more with less every single day is my usual way.
      Thanks
