i love that the first few seconds of every bobbie wygant interview on this channel begin with random banter, stuff that usually gets cut nowadays. i love these short moments of candor.

We do too, it's one of the reasons this archive is different.

I've been a Dolly fan since birth. I have seen every interview. I also have quite the collection of all her work. It amazes me how every goal she spoke of to accomplish she DID and more. I've always been inspired by her honesty, ambition, and fearless approach to life. There will only be one Dolly Parton ever. There just isn't anybody like her. Dolly always knew exactly what she was gonna do and did it well. I am very fortunate to have been on this earth and able to enjoy all of the music, talent, and shear inspiration and still enjoying the life and career of Dolly Rebecca Parton!

Dolly looks ever so slightly pained and unhappy here. You almost can't tell, because even in dark times she's so full of light and joy but... I think she seems somewhat sad (for her) here. In her eyes. I wonder what was going on in her life.

"She's on deadline, if you folks don't mind she's gon' go right ahead" was hilarious though

The stuff about how she wrote the songs for "Rhinestone" with Stallone's limited range in mind is really fascinating too, I've never heard her talk about it before. Thank you for uploading this!

She was ill after "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and it took her awhile to recover. She might not have totally recovered at this point.

In her book, Dolly said career wise things were great, but she was unhappy with her weight at that time.

@@stafonvoncamron Ahhh, interesting! She lost the weight over the next few years I guess, looking at the Rainbow album cover

THE GREAT PRETENDER came out in January 1984, and so this must have been from January or February '84.
