    Geez so many horror stories. I just bought this from the Black Friday deal and installed. This app thing is what is killing this product. Thinking about returning this item now.

      I would return it. I still can’t get the DashCam to connect. It worked months ago and now it won’t.

    I've been running the x1000 model in all my cars for a couple years now however my newest one in my 2022 supra quit working yesterday it won't come on at all.. I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to installing stereo stuff and dash cams so I know it's hooked up right it was working perfect for months but now it won't come on at all.. currently emailing the company to see if it can be fixed or replaced I'll post with an update whenever they decide what they are going to do..

    Dont buy thinkware i got f200 i cant connect at all.. I will never buy thinkware anymore

    I have a U1000 that came with a woefully low 64GB memory card. I got a third party 1TB card but the dashcam seems to be unable to format it despite giving the "successfully formatted" message. What I'm I doing wrong?

      Hello there!
      Please be advised that Thinkware MicroSD Cards are highly recommended as it is the only brand that is guaranteed to be compatible with our dashcams.
      Even though the non-Thinkware brand MicroSD meets the card requirements, each manufacturer uses slightly different file settings and systems that vary between batches.
      As such we cannot guarantee the performance or recommend non-Thinkware brand MicroSD cards with our products.
      It may be that the card being used is not compatible with the dashcam.

    I have a Thinkware U1000 dash cam. How do I format the memory card?

      Hello there,
      You can format the SD Card through the Cloud app in Dashcam Settings under Memory card settings!

    you're showing how to remove the memory card, do you have to power the camera OFF before you remove it or not? if you do, where is the power OFF button?

      Hello there,
      You do not need to power the dashcam off when removing the SD card. You can remove it with the unit turned on or off. The power button depends on the model, if your camera has a power button it will be located on either the front side of the camera or the back, Thank you.,

      @@thinkwaredashcam . thank you for the answer. Well, I have the F200 and there's no power button, the camera is hard wired and is on all the time, even when I'm parked. Should i pull the plug which connects to the camera to pull the memory card out, or like you said, just pull it out without disconnecting anything? Also, when watching playback through the app, there's NO sound, but when I download the file to my phone and play it, then the sound comes on, is that how it suppose to be? Thank you.

      @@bgl1082 You are welcome. You can just pull the memory card without unplugging the whole system. As for the playback, there should be sound when playing the footage on the actual app itself. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the app? This may help.

    This procedure doesn't work anymore. Downloading the firmware from the website and copying it to the card doesn't work. When you insert the card into the dash cam and power it up, it just says continuous recording started and does not complete the firmware update process. Please review this video and the manual and give us proper instructions, or revise your app to be able to communicate with the dash cam using 1.0.0 firmware.

    This app stopped working period. Won’t connect to my f200 anymore even after my iPhone connects to the thinkware WiFi. I contacted support and they sent me a 2 year old outdated instruction on how to connect to the internet. The dash came did update and I was able to use the app until a few weeks ago.

      @@thinkwaredashcam they were no help. Like I said, they sent me instructions from 2 years ago. I even did what this video told me to do and it still wrong fix the issues.

      @@thinkwaredashcam stupid support number. I call them today. And it’s Friday. A got a recorded message saying call us on our business hours from Monday to Friday 8-5 pm. Like wtf?

      Me too . I had my dash cam for years but now I think I’m going with different brand since this update is makes no sense and I don’t have access to a computer . WTF

    Did this and now cannot read sd card ,reason, not showing up on wifi list on my android anymore, installed a new sd card and still no Wi-Fi on my android, press Wi-Fi and now Japanese language and still not no wifi on the list ?

    I think I've managed it but the file I've inserted is a zipped file... is that right... help..

      Hi there! Yes, that is fine, as long as the firmware file is pasted on the SD card.

      Didn't work... tried again but unzipped it using extract.. then I found out you have to get to the part where you can safely remove the card... tried that and it worked and now working... just gotta get the app to work now

    I want to Update the Firmware on my Q1000 but the downloaded *.zip only includes a single file named Q1000_pkg.bin. Is this correct? The Video shows two Folders and one File.

      HI There, That is correct the latest Firmware Update for the Q1000 contains 1 File, the Q1000_pkg.bin. Simply paste this onto the Formatted MicroSD card and insert this into the Dash Cam to begin the update.
