    ==========
    I first wasn't going to film this. Then I thought I'd take a few still photos. Then I wondered about a short for Instagram. And one thing led to another.
    It's still an impromptu shot-on-cellphone video, but I hope you enjoy hanging out in the shop.
    I built this pine cabinet all the way back in 2000. It was inspired by a Pine Cabinet in the book "Shaker Style Wood Projects" by Robert Sonday. (the actual project was from Robert Wurster.
    It is made from 12" wide rough pine planks from the Home Center, finished with some shellac and furniture wax. Being pine, it has got a lot of "character" marks from 24 years of use. It was entirely assembled with Biscuits, as that was a new tool that I was having fun learning to use.
    The door is assembled with bridle joints, and the front panels were raised by the method where you run then on the angle over the table saw blade.
    However, while the cabinet does have a sort of a lock, it has never had a catch, and I wanted to add a catch. I found this Brass double-ball catch from Richelieu in my hardware stash, and set about getting one installed. I don't remember when or why I bought this catch, and I had to figure out how to install it.

    The paint transfer idea is quite clever. Good job!

    We look at something for "a long while" and finally decide to take action. Even if it's a small project and when we are done, it's most satisfying! !! !!!

    I find spacing catches works well with frog tape and a small square, to sit the catch on while marking for the screws. Bamboo skewers are my favourite fillers for mistakes and repairs, or to park next to a screw the grain won't allow to be in the exact position
