- An angel's tough love song to a dead man. It's not really religious-don't be a literalist-it's all metaphor. This is art. You're the dead person, and the music video is your otherworldly trespassing. Maybe it's a test. This is the third music video for Arika & The Amoebas, the world's first AI band that I'm aware of [a distinction with no reward or recognition].
People say AI has no soul, that it's impersonal, and that anyone can do it. They unfollow me the moment I upload a new video to make a point. They tell me they're fed up.
This is a raw, emotional, and personal music video that proves my haters wrong. If you can't see or hear the emotion or authenticity in this, you're blind and deaf. When the angel sings, "You don't have to tell me. I know how much it hurts," she's saying she knows how much it hurts to be dead. And when her rotting corpse sings that... Whew! Personally, I find the idea that it hurts to be dead really powerful, and a curious lyric to sing passionately. But that's just me. This isn't anyone else's video. This isn't by AI. Nobody else has an AI video like this.
I wrote all the lyrics myself. Unlike most hit pop songs written by a songwriting duo, my work is entirely my own. Listen up: AI is as creative, original, authentic, and individual as its maker. Some hide behind the tech and try to wow people; I use it to manifest my inner vision.
This video is created from scratch and out of the ether using my imagination, writing, image-making, animation, and music composition. If this isn't art-contemporary and high art-then you're just a clueless art snob. Hint: I create an alternate reality that is really a lot like getting into my head and seeing through the portal of my eyes. Some say originality, individuality, and authenticity are impossible. I prove them wrong through art. They deny me and thumb their noses.

@@artvsmachine I read your explanations about how RUclips suppresses the Amoebas videos, and limits the audience. Interestingly, as a regular viewer I’m clearly their single target. I get suggestions to rewatch the Amoebas video on a daily basis. Or better said, anytime I open RUclips and scroll through the suggestions, there are one or two Amoebas videos. I don’t complain, but it made me raise an eyebrow when I read your explanation.
@@Harko- Yeah, you like them and have commented so you are part of the small group of people who will get suggestions for those videos. It's more the ALIEN and Pulp Fiction videos that are mysteriously suppressed. My music videos aren't very popular to begin with. Those other ones show a sudden cutting off of views. My music videos are going to be DOA because nobody is searching for them or ever heard of them.
@@artvsmachine That does make perfect sense. What are your thoughts on why those are being cut off? RUclips not wanting to burn their hands on AI generated content that has a connection with non AI content, and that holds copyright? Or anything else?
@Harko- Lots of stuff with that kind of content gets tons of views, especially AI movie trailers of existing movies. I don't have any copyright issues, or they would be flagged. "War of the Worlds" has all the same issues, but somehow that one slipped through the cracks and has 42k views, whereas the others are all stalled under 3k. I suspect possibly somebody might complain about any instance of gore or violence, even though I put warnings at the beginning for people who don't like that kind of content. I really don't know, and I've asked RUclips a few times. They either don't know or won't tell me.
I'm pretty sure there's backdoor tiers and categories and whatnot that channels and videos are slotted into. My art criticism pisses some people off, and lots of my old followers hate that I do AI art and tell me so. I may have saboteurs. I'll never know.
My blog was blacklisted for ad revenue with no explanation, so, I dunno, maybe my channel is flagged for something.
Gives me freedom to not cater to what gets me views, but I liked it better when the channel was earning me money.

I have a fantasy about creating a record, as in a cover and a vinyl record, and playing it on a record player. I'm sure it's doable. Maybe have 8 or more songs. Something to explore in the future.

In a fair world Arika and the Amoebas would have more than 5 fans. Anyway, since I don't get any views or ad revenue anyway, a may knock out a few more songs to establish them as the first AI band (though nobody will ever hear about it, or care, nore will I make enough to cover even one of my AI subscription fees). But I'm used to that. Up until about 9 months ago, I never made a penny on my art in my lifetime.
More coming soon. I figure I might as well be the first person to create a viable AI band. Actually, that's a side thing. The first person angle. It's really about fashioning an alternate reality that also then compliments the one we live in. And it's about bringing this person to life. A bit of the bride of Frankenstein about it, too. There are so many layers of meaning...

Just ask. This video uses Midjourney, Haiper, Runway, Luma Dream Machine, Hedra, Photoshop, Filmora, Audacity, LeiaPix and Audio Director. But my main tool, the indispensable one, the one that makes it all possible, is my own unique, individual, and authentic artistic self.

Ha, ha, ha, ha. You prove my point so extraordinarily well. In case anyone didn't believe what I said in my description, here is the hate and blanket dismissal that is so blind and so deaf.
Meanwhile your argument is that all art is fake because it is "artifice". This reflects a very shallow understanding of reality and the role of subjectivity, indeed of self-awareness. What thing made by humans is not "artifice"? All of communication, and any use of the imagination are then dismissed as not real. It's the opposite, facts and physical objects are only real when bathed in the light of subjective self awareness, which is also the terrain of art. We humans create reality. If you can't grasp that, you need to work your way up starting with the philosopher's grain of sand. A fact may be inarguably real [ex., the temperature water boils] but that fact only matters at all in the realm of subjective awareness.

"Food for the soul". You must be my age or older. I forgot this idea even existed. And yet, it's absolutely brilliant and spot on. We've lost touch with the purpose of art, but this nails it. I could write an essay on this, but not in the comments section.
@@artvsmachine And now I'm 3 weeks older than that. It's your page. Tell us what whatever you want. It's got to be more reflective than Hermannder's Dadaist take. Trickery in art? Always. It is a representation, after all. But from the earliest cave paintings to Spirit of the Radio, art always points to something not reachable, or not attained. At the least, art reminds us at first blush that the thing represented is not here, while we pause to see it with fresh eyes or hear it with fresh ears.
I'm watching AI Punk, and I haven't thought this much about artistic expression in years.

@@gregwork49 You might be among the handful of people who get it. But it's not really AI punk. It's a punk song I created using AI. I'm definitely the main ingredient. AI on its own would not do something like this. It tends to derivative pap. You might check out some of my more recent videos. RUclips does not suggest them.
