I like your thoughts on the T7 vs the KLR. I still have a Gen 2 hanging around but I recently picked up a 24 T7, and it’s a hooligan bike for me.
I’m going to sell my 890 Adventure S, Husky 501 S, and my 2018 KLR.
I am Loving the T7 that much. I’ll miss the 890 on the road and I’ll miss the 501 off the road. I do t spend that much time on tough technical single track so I think I’ll be OK.
And if I end up doing that I’ll grab a smaller bike like the KLX 300 again.
Plus, I have an Ultra Classic for the long haul.

That would be a good garage setup, t7, Harley, and klx300. I keep a xt225 in the garage for solo trail riding or single track with friends.

@@DirtRider22a I’ve thought about a XT225/250, thinking maybe my gal would take to that easier than a taller dual sport, and they are great lil bikes.

@@pinkiewerewolf makes a great extra bike to loan out to people and it’s so light if I go out riding alone on trails I’ve never ridden I don’t have to really worry about getting in a situation we’re the bike is stuck and I’m walking back lol

@@DirtRider22a Great reasons to have a bike! As I near 59 years of age I realize the importance of a light and simple bike when I explore on my own. That’s why I got the 501 but it’s expensive to maintain.

I love my drz but it lacks power for street riding. I find myself liking twisty roads and fire roads more that difficult or road trails these days. I want the drz more powerful, 6th gear, and efi. It seems like the T700 may be the answer. It’s also beautiful. I just wonder if I should get something bigger so I can do long highway stunts with a passenger. Any thought? I will also only buy Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki. I can’t do ktm, too expensive and I hear horrible stories about them.

2 up depends on the size of you and your passenger with the T7, for me and my wife it fits well, I’m 5’7” and she’s 5’4” I’m 170lb and she’s an undisclosed amount less lol the Transalp 750 would probably be better on road and possibly more comfortable, would just need to test ride to see for sure what will suit your needs.

It's more expensive in every way too....Hey a BMW GS is faster too maybe that would be a good comparison. Seems motorcycle reviewers are just messed up. My 2024 KLR 6,499 and T7 11,599 gee I wonder why the KLR is not better. I also seems that shorter or weaker people are the only ones complaining. I am 6'4 270 and ride the hell out of the KLR off road and on.

I loved my KLR to be honest, it also had upgraded suspension which helped a lot off road and on for that matter. It also didn’t feel as badly under sprung considering I only weigh 170. That being said, I smile a little bigger when I twist the T7 throttle lol but I’ll never not like the KLR

@@DirtRider22a Of course the T7 is faster and has better kit....hence the 5k price difference here. I may get either a T7 or a Transalp later on. I bought my R1 new in 2007 and it was $10,500 now a 700cc ADV cost even more. I have had a little of everything over the years and the KLR is first bike I really wanted to mod and build into something. T7 is a stunner of a machine, but again there is a reason...now if it was the same price or even within $1K difference I could see a challenge.
