    There has been a sign that was added to the Crystal Vista sign that states "No Camping". Which means no camping at the trail head as of now.

      Was there yesterday, still no camping. Make sure you tell people it's all up hill walking for about 2 miles. Coming down is something different!!! I just surfaced hunted as first time there and we was getting rain. Had a little luck. Going back soon.

      @@finndog2759 Yeah, I went by there about a month ago. They recently added that no camping signage after I made this video. I mention several times 03:07 it's a pretty steep climb up to the top. It's some great exercise. LOL

    Was just there in June and have to really dig for the good ones. That said we took a canvas wagon with digging tools and lots of water. Quite the hike for this 70+ woman and her grandson. The elevation gain in the 3/4th miles to the summit was 1400’ gain. This put the slope at about 30 degrees. To find the best must have rock pick, shovel, garden hand rake and a small crowbar. It was nice to have a small camp/ fishing chair to relax in with some good food to munch on. It was difficult going down with the wagon as the slope was steep but well worth the day. The nearest dispersed campground was Crystal Campground. Do watch for Blacktailed rattlesnake as saw a three foot beauty first day in camp. Being a photographer got some beautiful pictures as my 17 year old grandson yelled, “Grandma you’re getting too close. Didn’t you just tell me it was venomous? You’re crazy!”

      LOL Sounds like you had a grand adventure summiting the Crystal Vista! I didn't see any snakes while there, but not doubt they were there. It definitely was a climb, but will be going back.

    Hey Mark. Enjoyed your video and I like the fact that you added GPS coordinates for the Vista. You are the first I've seen to post the GPS and I've seen a few. Me and my wife were there a couple of weeks ago and had a blast and wound up bringing a bucket full of crystals and quartz home with us. Good luck on your videos!

      Thanks Tomas! It's all public land I like exploring and I do leave coordinates for other folks to explore also. Thanks for watching!

    Did you keep a small crystal for a souvenir? Darn the people and their trash. My wife and I went riding on our mule (Kawasaki) at Mt Magazine last week and picked up two trash bags full. Almost didn't have enough room left for our own trash. Great video Mark.

    • @DispersedCamperMan
      @DispersedCamperMan  6 лет назад +2

      Yeah, I kept a very small crystal I found on the ground. The young couple I met already there, were hammering away finding some good ones. LOL I hate seeing trash. This place wasn't that bad actually with trash considering. I need to start carrying a small plastic bag with me for trash.

      Was there yesterday. It sucks seeing trash. Found somebody's tent and rain jacket. It was there since last fall. Next trip will be taking a garbage bag. Sad people got to be slobs!!!

    Any recommendations for the Ouachitas that has a great open sky view? I'm out of LR and going to start doing some dispersion camping trips. I've explored around Lake Winona/Sylvia and Crystal Mountain peak. Crystal Vista is on my list now, I didn't realize you could get crystals that readily. Great vids! Keep posting content!!

    • @DispersedCamperMan

      Thanks! Your best bet for an open sky would be in the fall/winter when the leaves have all fallen from the trees. I'm about to post another video when I was at North Fork Lake on the trail head of the womble trail. Where I was camped, at the womble trail head, there was a great open sky view. I just wish I would have brought my kayak with me. At this location, you can mountain bike/hike the womble, kayak on the small lake, or star gaze at night. I should be posting it sometime this week. Thanks for watching.

    Hi. First thank you for all the Recon. We live in OK, so this area is the closest dispersed camping we can really do so I greatly appreciate your efforts. I am planning a trip to this exact location middle of March. Do you have the coordinates for where you set up camp?

    • @DispersedCamperMan
      @DispersedCamperMan  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Bob. I didn't get the coord's on this one. But if you follow the road further in, about 2 miles, you'll see places to disperse camp at. If you stop at the ranger's office in Mt Ida, they have some pretty good maps of the area.

      This link is a google map I made showing the majority of the places I've dispersed camped at. Just click on a spot, it'll show you the videos of that location. drive.google.com/open?id=1r4UEzs1eXajvKIt4YccrZ9wAAn86qmMS&usp=sharing

      There's a primitive campground real close to here. You might want to check ahead to see if it's open or not. ruclips.net/video/um3TbTGrFYo/видео.html
