I found it easier to just click on the bottom of the edge for the extrude for the seam for the back of the chair. Click on the bottom of the edge and hold ctrl and click up on the loop button to select the loops you want instead of trying to carefully selecting the edges yourself. This can put a risk of accidentally selecting or de-selecting a edge you don't want to use or lose. I also subscribed as well. Thank you for these tutorials.

In the edit poly i simply decreased the chamfer amount

It had the selection still active, so all i did was just go in and manually reselect the edges i wanted extruded
