How durable are they? I got some steel fittings welded to a fuel hanger and the guy grazed one. I have your tool kit and have used it a few times with fresh oil and am not sure how firm to push and how many times to lap it. Great idea by the way, I was relieved to find someone made a tool just for this.
Use a off and on pressure to repair the surface of the fitting. This allows the oil to spread thru out the diamond dust coating and allow the tool to do its job. You can use more pressure on steel than Aluminum. If the Alum. clogs the grit, you can clean it with a cue tip and Muratic acid. Be very careful with the acid and wear gloves and eye protection. Continue to lap until the sealing surface is smooth.
Fitting Fixer is now available. We have sizes 3/16", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" available on our website: koultools.com/
