How Zoox Autonomous Vehicles 'Perceive' Their Surroundings

- The Zoox perception system acts as the eyes and ears of our autonomous vehicles. A combination of cameras, radars, lidars, long-wave infrared sensors, and microphones detect and classify agents and objects 360° around our vehicle, enabling it to ‘see’ in all directions, in all sorts of conditions. Here’s our Director of Perception, Ruijie (RJ) He, explaining how it’s done.

Although I left Zoox, but zoox's solution is the most completeness and safest, can't wait!
i am most impressed by Zoox for autonomous driving. they have the best hardware and software to accomplish this task
🙂
As someone who is into object detection and classification, I must say your perception stack is pretty amazing. Top tier performance. 👏👏
Didn't realize how sophisticated the onboard algorithms are. Predicting pedestrian behaviour is very cool!
Very interesting.. Does Zoox use Early sensor fusion or Late sensor fusion?.. thanks!
Super interesting, thanks for the video. Can't wait driving in a Zoox!
Absolutely excited for this company, can't wait to see yall in LA in a few years!
I am an ELECTRONIC engineering student. I love the work being done at ZOOX. Hope to be part of it one day
Great Brilan
I wish this was in North Carolina My Home date at a person who is vision impaired and hardly rain. I wish that was being tested in North Carolina which we actually did pass self driving cars on our laws during 2015. I don’t know why most self driving cars are not being tested in North Carolina.
The wheel width needs to be doubled so that the vehicle will be much more stable when driving.
I love Zoox
Zoox Amazon to the moon 🌖
I agree with this concept. This is what truly is the EV car
obot .
My idea is that the major cities have these "Cars" linked by a information grid , communicating with other "cars" , maybe like rented , basically personal bus or trains , horizontal elevators, maybe put a lot of sensors in the street itself, alongside cameras. And problem solved with accidents or people getting drunk behind the wheel . It could be possible .
very cool
Impressive stack! However I would like to understand the feasibility of such vehicles when you rely on 8 LiDARs, which as we all know are expensive!?
This is so superior to Tesla's dumb approach
You'll need to run really fast to catch up with Waymo which could be dangerous for riders. In any case I won't ride in any vehicle that is associated with Amazon.
You cheat though by pre-scanning the roads before putting the vehicles there.
How will it do on freeways?
