You guys have the best way of describing things. I love how you talk about the same position but at different stages and the differences you have to make based on the little changes
@@KnightJiuJitsu Indeed, I already saw it and it is wonderful. I'll be hoping to hit inside the lower guard, there really aren't any videos on RUclips on that topic. I would like you to do it since you have a good knowledge of art.
The only thing I'd disagree with is guard. In a fight the person on top is winning. All things being equal. Elbows and headbutts exist. Also because you aren't mobile the possibility of others jumping in is a real thing. I'd say in a real fight guard is at best neutral, but NOT where you wanna be.
I actually cut a chunk out of this (almost mistakenly while trying to condense for time) where I discuss striking and context more, and I mention the striking advantage goes to the person on top. It’s a nuanced discussion for sure, and mainly I was wanting to point out the strength of a position that is ostensibly bad to people unfamiliar with jiu-jitsu, and how the position should actually be one with the powerful to neutralize, advance and even submit the person on top. So, I still think the advantage can go to the bottom guard player even in self defense, but agree it is not somewhere you should choose to be in self defense or mma. And I will also admit that my explanation is lacking and rushed in this video unfortunately. I appreciate the comment and respectfulness.
Hi, really like those submissions that you teach. But it will be better if you could film at a POV/ first person angle because it is really difficult to adjust the angle in our brains, thanks! oss

Currently looking at ur fundamentals playlist, u give all the tiny details …thanks a lot for this ❤
It’s my pleasure and I appreciate you watching my videos!
5:00 great video
Thanking you for kicking our ass, teaching us pyramid guard yesterday!
It's always and honor and pleasure.
Very cool, thanks!
Could you make a video about the blows that occur when we are on guard, for example kicks to the kidney, slaps to the ear, etc
It’s a good topic. I have a video on striking from inside the guard and passing, but not from the bottom perspective yet. Thanks for the idea.

@@KnightJiuJitsu Of course! You came to my school a few years back and did a seminar to help us through the covid slump.
This is Jack bro...lol
@dragonballjiujitsu - that’s awesome. I don’t make the connection with your name on here. Hope you’re doing well, Jack!
Excellent video
