Boruto as a character needed this kind of adversity. The kid has a LOT on his plate which makes us readers sympathize with him more. The cool thing about Boruto is when you go back and re-read earlier chapters, you do see signs that he's growing in maturity.

The Byakugan part is something I always found funny as a meta joke given how neglected the eye was throughout Naruto so much so that the creator when making the children he almost made a third just so the children had one (and whatever plot point he had in mind)
Boruto objectively speaking has been a character that was bound to fight an uphill battle no matter what. It reminds me of DBZ where as soon as Goku was written off and Gohan stepped up to be the main character, the Japanese readers really did not like it and ended up with Goku coming back. It’s such an interesting thing that’s going on with his character both in universe and out as he will always fight to be free of Naruto’s shadow. Kishimoto knew this when he was writing the movie and based Boruto’s whole character off that conflict of having to fill a giant’s shoes and the insecurities and anxiety that burden brings. Same thing could be said about Ikemoto trying to live up to Kishimoto’s work.

yeah, Boruto does face a challenging journey as he tries to establish his own identity and step out of Naruto's shadow. It's a common theme in storytelling when a new generation takes over from the previous one. The conflict and insecurities that come with it make for an interesting character development. The creators, Kishimoto and Ikemoto, definitely had that in mind when crafting Boruto's story.

I don’t think they changed his chakra nature affinity. They mentioned at least twice, in confirmation, that his affinity was wind release while sasuke only mentions his lightning release is strong and is naturally good at it. It’s also been implied that his lightning release comes from his jougan which might explain him being able to subconsciously incorporate it to his techniques being that it’s his keikeigenkai. It’s a hack lol

Yeah I always thought Wind was his strongest, and genetically makes sense coming from Naruto and a Hyuga. his lightning release is also strong, and likely comes from Minato, and worth Sasuke mentioned because Naruto didn't have a strong lightning release naturally.

He was introduced as Bolt Uzumaki in the west on the last chapter of Naruto. Which is kind of weird since to my knowledge he was the only character in all of Naruto that got their name translated to English.

I have a question, do you think there's a chance Sasuke may not have survived his training of Boruto?. That could explain why Boruto looks cold/unhappy. Maybe during the training the overwhelming influence of Omnipotence caused Sasuke to see Boruto as someone who not only killed his friend and Hokage(Naruto Uzumaki)but also poses a huge threat to not just Konoha but also the whole world since Boruto has an enemy Otsutsuki inside him despite Sarada tearfully pleading with her father(who's memories of Boruto have been changed) to help Boruto and because of this Sasuke became the version of himself he was before Naruto changed him and fought Boruto who during the battle with Sasuke got taken over by Momoshiki and killed him.
My theory for the drawing kishimoto did with mitskuis sage mode and saradas mongekyo. is that for boruto instead of a kurma link mode i reckon it will be a 3rd stage karma where he has acses to more of momoshikis powers and visually the karma pattern would spread more and his hair would grow longer and start to turn white like momoshikis

Neji's death was foreshadowed in part 1 with the caged bird and the byakugan blind spot, when he was using rotation prior to that death he was freaking out because the spikes were travelling faster than his rotation could keep up...so of course he died. Kakashi childhood timeline: if you go solely by the manga, yeah you've got an issue because the obito flashback makes it look like he was the same age as Rin and Obito when he became chunin, however, the anime fixes this by showing us that Kakashi after graduating from the academy has been on several different teams prior to team Minato and had clashed with every sensei prior to this. Obito trying to figure out Minato's jutsu imo looked more like he was trying to see if placing him in Kamui would be enough to negate the flying raijin. If you look, that's why he had those chains, he was trying to find a way to at least slow him down enough to get kamui to suck him in the dimension. FTG can't travel across time space dimension, we saw as much because Minato and tobirama couldn't teleport to kaguya's time space Obito being 16 and controlling the 9 tails, he literally had Madara training him via genjutsu on all his knowledge in a time space madara could control. So it makes sense he took Obito from a dunce of the uchiha to kage level in such a short time period.

Kishimoto didn't give Boruto Byakugan, changing his primary chakra to wind and making his personality close to his father. NGL ruined his character pretty well. The most hyped parts of the Boruto movie involved Naruto/Sasuke. Boruto’s personality was still in the “annoying brat stage” so he wasn’t that well liked as a character. Therefore we can say that Boruto didn’t get the sales but Naruto and the OGs did.

1. Fused Momoshiki used Shikamaru's shadow paralysis jutsu on them to where they couldn't move so Boruto had to throw his vanishing rasengan in order to free them and save them.
2. After the fight vs Naruto and Sasuke, FUSED Momoshiki replenished his health and chakra with the scientific ninja tool from Katasuke, ate 3 more chakra pills which replenished him even further, and still lost 1v1 to *KID* Boruto while Naruto and Sasuke were pinned down by chakra rods.
3. *BASE* Boruto using a shadow clone was capable of blitzing FUSED Momoshiki, punch him in the stomach, activate his Jougan, counted FUSED Momoshiki's taijutsu, which created an opening for another vanishing rasengan hit to his ribcage all before the real Boruto came out of the sky with his giant vanishing rasengan(which was mixed with BOTH Boruto and Naruto's chakra) to defeat FUSED Momoshiki but the *FACT* still remains that *KID* Boruto did indeed fight *FUSED* Momoshiki *1v1* and held his own and defeated him proving he's already Otsutsuki tier which is NOT *DEBATABLE*

boruto's movie in my opinion is the best naruto movie, everything is done super well, from the animation, story and power scaling. then came along the anime with infinite filler, most naruto characters are disrespected, overshadowed or bluntly weak, that's where the discourse begins

@@NarutoExplained Neji death, Hashirama death, Kakashi Child Hood time line, Obito trying to figure out his own senseis jutsu even then he’s been on plenty missions with him, just to name a few… also Obito was 16? Taking on an entire village, controlling the 9 tails
Neji's death was foreshadowed in part 1 with the caged bird and the byakugan blind spot, when he was using rotation prior to that death he was freaking out because the spikes were travelling faster than his rotation could keep up...so of course he died.
Kakashi childhood timeline: if you go solely by the manga, yeah you've got an issue because the obito flashback makes it look like he was the same age as Rin and Obito when he became chunin, however, the anime fixes this by showing us that Kakashi after graduating from the academy has been on several different teams prior to team Minato and had clashed with every sensei prior to this.
Obito trying to figure out Minato's jutsu imo looked more like he was trying to see if placing him in Kamui would be enough to negate the flying raijin. If you look, that's why he had those chains, he was trying to find a way to at least slow him down enough to get kamui to suck him in the dimension. FTG can't travel across time space dimension, we saw as much because Minato and tobirama couldn't teleport to kaguya's time space
Obito being 16 and controlling the 9 tails, he literally had Madara training him via genjutsu on all his knowledge in a time space madara could control. So it makes sense he took Obito from a dunce of the uchiha to kage level in such a short time period.

To be fair, people thought the movie was gonna be the very last piece of Naruto media we'd ever get, and it did feel like the perfect ending to the franchise.

which part? i have interview clips and transcripts for the kishimoto parts, my editor didn't use them in the video, but literally everything in here I have a source for what's stated. The reason we don't throw text on screen often is based on what I've seen in RUclips analytics, whenever text is on screen from transcripts it leads to viewer retention dropping.

Kishimoto didn't give Boruto Byakugan, changing his primary chakra to wind and making his personality close to his father. NGL ruined his character pretty well. He was supposed to be an intelligent character with cold logic, like Sasuke, but now look what he is: a little better version of Naruto with a fetish for sacrifice. He even forgave Kawaki after all he did to him; bro, you are turning him into Naruto 2 in Sasuke outfit.

The most hyped parts of the Boruto movie involved Naruto/Sasuke. Boruto’s personality was still in the “annoying brat stage” so he wasn’t that well liked as a character. Therefore we can say that Boruto didn’t get the sales but Naruto and the OGs did.
Funny thing is tv Tokyo did a poll and it was revealed that most of the money Boruto makes is from new fans and not og people who knew Naruto. This is further proven when Boruto won the poll as the favorite character world wide in the franchise( and before u say anything they did the poll again because people called it bullshit and Boruto still won lmao)
