Dude, for real, thank you so much. I don't have any USB sticks around, don't have the money for one, and my DvD drive took a shit and my computer got fucked up beyond repair so I had no way to reinstall. Just finished a fresh installation. Really appreciate it. Least I know this for the future now. No need for DvD's at all nowadays....unless of course your comp is so destroyed you can't even get into windows.

This tutorial Taught me a big lesson
My ISO file was different from original so, When I changed my Active partition and restarted the system it said *bootmgr* is missing.. and I have *Dell Studio 1555* which can't change Active partition from *Bios* so I really needed a laptop. And it was my only one...I didn't know anything there was not a single tutorial on it...
Then I bought an *OTG* and downloaded *Parrot OS* and *Live* mode worked perfectly...then i downloaded *Windows 7 iso* file from my mobile and copied to the USB's system which was *Parrot OS* and finally I Moved the ISO file to the Partition which I f*cked up😅
And finally restarted the system and everything worked! Thanks to God.. 😂❤

this worked wonderfully for my pc. you can get iso file from microsoft itself. then using this method and another one for activating it, i flawlessly installed 8.1 thanks

@@JMonstaH- Nah, man. I once downgraded to 8.1, but then came back after 6 months. I don't know there's something about 10 that attracts me. It's the design i guess. Btw 8.1 is really better in resource usage. Where 10 uses 30% ram, 8.1 uses only 15%. You have to choose wisely.

2. open Easeus and then click on the chosen drive and then choose the option as (convert primary) and then click apply

you dont have any more options,use a bootable usb
TO AVOID ERROR IN DISK PARTITION: It means your disk is GPT you need to convert it to MDR. Just search for EaseUS Partition Master in youtube to download it then crack it. This also solve the activate partition problem. It worked for me i used windows 10 GPT.

Doesn't work for me unfortunately. When I get to the shrinking steps, even though C: is 465gb, total size to shrink is 476838, it says "total available shrink space in MB" is only 2772gb, so not enough to install Windows 7. Total size after shrink in MB goes to 0 and it doesn't let me advance if I enter anything past 2.7gb in size. Checked the comments to see if anyone had this problem, but no, apparently is just me. Not sure if it matters, but drive says is NTFS.

You can download windows 7 and windows 8.1 from microsoft if you have a key. If you don't have a key, you should still be able to download Windows 8 from microsoft. You might be able to find a leagl version of windows 7 (without the key) on the internet. Just do a google search.

Valdez _on_DEX Then you arent on an admin account. You need to ask your dad or family if they have an admin account and if you can barrow it
I dont have to try this, logically it must be working. Harddisk isnt different with flashdisk or CD. As long as you can load the partition at startup, nothing impossible.
Just 1 step that i didnt understand. Why did you activated partition 1 before installation? Is it necessary? Then you delete it in your installation step. Isnt it have bootloader inside?

yes, when you delete the partitions your files are deleted! you're basically formatting your drive and installing a new OS. Ususally you have to back-up your files, before installing a new OS.

To make it clear, 123 put the link to the ISO file in his comment, not in the description. Just read it and follow the directions, then when the ISO is downloaded you follow the steps in the video.

I have done all those steps but at the last movement By mistake I have deleted 'Extract new partition drive' which you have Install wind7. Now its showing. "an operating system wasn't found. try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system. Press ctr+alt+delete to restart."

you can get it from www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO . its size of download is 3gb(32 bit) 4gb(64bit)
if you dont have windows this is kinda hard
you can do it with an usb or dvd with all setup files on it and copying the files to your harddrive and then run the setup from there it will be a lot quicker

You don't need to restart your computer .
Simply after extracting your "Windows.iso" file , click the file , then click on "Setup".
That will start your windows installation

Ah, so basically I plugged my HDD into another computer and "tried again" making the partition where I extracted the windows iso "active". But it took me many attempts. I used some commands to make it active, rather than using the windows partition tool.
I don't remember what the commands were, but just google "install windows from HDD" and in some guide you will find the commands.
Well now im downloading again the win 7 iso, but this time ill put it into a usb, i wish this time will work
when i right click on the partiton where i extract the file it doesnt show me the option to make it active

Make Sure That The Partition is in primary not logical or recovery or something
use minitool partition wizard its way easier just click set partition as primary (download the program and install)
*Help pls!* I installed the windows 7 pro 64bits using this method and everything got messed up, I had the graphics card AMD mobility radeon HD 5000 series with 1000mb Vram, now it says "graphics card VGA standard". And my screen resolution was 1600×900, now the maximum I can set is 1152×864... and I can't connect to the internet
*Edit:* I installed the essential drivers on my phone and transferred them to my laptop using a USB cable, now that's fixed. But my internet got x10 times slower :( and I can't remember the network driver that I had before installing Windows 7

couldnt you just use winrar to extract the file and then click setup ? it has the same steps (insert product key, select if you want to keep your personal files) you wouldn't have to create partitions and have to struggle with making sure its primary instead of logical (which is exactly what i did)
it says its installing it right now and i feel dumb because i spent hours trying to figure out how to shrink other volumes and extend the one i need so...
