    Burrishoole Friary is one I know well, although Dominican. It was a plain structure in a very fine setting of Clew Bay. The Burkes patronised it, and it was erected before Papal authorisation was obtained. Like many, there intermural graves placed there after it fell into ruin. Most are like that. Dumbrody Abbey is probably the only monastic ruin without subsequent graves, which is probably due to it passing first to its former abbot as Anglican bishop of the area, and by some marriages to its present owners.
