Long story, true sequels to the first Amityville Horror doesn't exist. Second and third was kind of true sequels since MGM owns all first three. Amityville Horror is a copyrighted title, you will noticed all the sequels only used the word Amityville without the word Horror. The word Amityville alone can't be copyrighted as it's a name of the place in real life. fourth, sixth, seventh, and eighth is a series of four movies all by its own and own by same people that's not the MGM. Amityville Curse is not owned by any of those people. All of the sequels are basically unofficial. Amityville Curse is the reason why Amityville 1992 dropped the number to avoid being confusing. Amityville 4 was the final film to have the number before Curse came out.
VS did a great job with the one I watched, the evil escapes, but the movie itself is garbage, though admittedly if you're in the right state of mind and with friends you can enjoy it as an unintentionally funny movie. Personally I struggled.
Yeah I would have to agree. You definitely have to know what you're getting into with some of these movies. They're certainly products of their time. But under the right circumstances I still think they can be entertaining.

Vinegar Syndrome releases great quality products! This is a great set of movies.
I agree. They put a lot of care into their products. This is definitely a great set to pick up if you're a fan of the franchise.
I haven't saw these since VHS they always release the other Amityville movies and not these!!! In would be nice to pick these up

I pre-ordered it from Vinegar Syndrome when it was about to come out. I believe it was around $50 or $60 at the time.
