    Some other interesting facts:
    - one complete recharge costs approx. 1 Euro
    - equipped with ABS (anti blocking system), mandatory in the EU since 2016
    - front disc brake tends to squeeze a little when being pulled really tight
    - exact spring travel: 21 cm / 22 cm
    - wheelbase: 1,43 m / 4 ft 7
    - weight: 131 kg
    - power output: 44 hp / 106 Nm
    - warranty: 2 years on the bike, 5 years on the battery

Does it have a regen setting?
They should definitely move the rear brake to the left hand lever since there is no clutch there.
And yes, they should leave the removable battery feature for the swappable option if someone wants to get an extra battery for it.

Great Review - we've seen a few modern electric offroad bikes - KTM, and Electric Motion trials bike - they look great fun - but this Review is simply head and shoulders above in detail, interest and entertainment than any other. I really enjoyed this motorbike review Thomas i hope there's more to come! I think i'd like the idea of an electric bike with maximum torque on tap, however i can't live without the sound of petrol powered bike with no exhaust baffle because for me that's part of the thrill of riding a bike. Maybe with a synthetic engine/exhaust sound playing through i'll be completely convinced.

  • @11green11

Def a fan of eBIKES . The only physical aspect i can see that hasn't been addressed in many reviews is their low speed maneuverability. These clutchless, transmissionless bikes have 0 centrifugal rotation at a standstill and minimal rotation while creeping forwards in tight/slow traffic. That (to me) is quite an important aspect of safely riding 2 wheels on a day to day machine.

Maybe they didn't have the modular battery option when this review was done, but they do now. There is the FX 7.2 which is non-modular and the FX 3.6 Modular which has half the range and power output with a 3.6KWh battery, but is equal to the FX 7.2 when you put in a second 3.6KWh battery and the batteries are removable. After watching this review though, it helped me decide to just get the full range 7.2 KWh version and save about $900. Thanks for the in depth review. Can't wait to ride one of these!

In the EU most in home circuits can handle the super fast 4 port charging method that allows one to charge the most powerful 7.2kW versions of the FX Enduro and FXS Supermoto from no charge to full battery in 108 minutes or to 95% in 78 minutes! Then it can travel 91 miles at offroad or city acceleration and braking patterns. I wonder if there is a high end surge protector power strip with multiple outlets on it to allow one to connect the 4 chargers to it from an outside outlet on the side of a building with the owners permission of course. though surely there are better ways once on the go. The US Military special forces has militarized versions of this enduro model that I believe have even higher capacity and have the ability to be even more silent and can be ridden with all lighting of any kind including brake lights and tail lights de-activated, while the spec ops soliders wear special helmets with private wireless communications built into them as well as night vision/infrared technology built in. The bikes are also painted much darker with totally matte finish allowing for no reflective properties on the bike or riding gear for the lucky spec ops soldiers that gets to take these on stealth missions, lastly these mil spec Zero FX's are capable of much longer range than the civilian model because in the civilian model the battery has a built in self preservation system that prevents the batteries from being fully discharged so as to preserve its' longevity. So they can travel up to 85+ mph on or off road for 50-100 miles at least in pitch darkness, virtually silent, totally invisible to the naked eye whilst the rider is fully aware of their surroundings, as I believe the night vision is far more effective than actual visible light illumination due to infrared lighting on these bikes creating an invisibly lit field of view allowing for at least 300 meters of visibility probably more, i believe they would be strong as possible due to there being no need to worry about blinding reflections or blinding civilians in cars or what have you.
    Picture this:
You're a resident in a middle east conflict zone, though you have no reason to fear a late night walk as things have been calming down lately. It is the lunar new moon phase and you're heading down a deserted trail or city street when a very sudden rush of air and faint whirring of an electric motor scares the very soul out of your body momentarily as it whizzes by within a foot of where you stood then fades away in 2 seconds as you strain your ears to hear what just went by you over the thumping of your own heart pounding away in your ear drums. Then find solace in knowing that you are not going insane and that what you just heard was a member of the US special forces on a Zero FX and he has good reason not to be detected in your area tonight so you best get indoors before you're caught in the middle of something you want nothing to do with 😂😂😂.
Just an anecdote that illustrates how covert a silent, nimble, lightweight and fast electric two wheeled off road transportation really is. It is not exactly something you can apply to your daily life unless you're us special forces, but it has benefits as well as drawbacks elsewhere in civilian life. Benefits such as riding silently but swiftly through private trails or conservation should you accidentally wander off the open trail. Drawback could be broad siding a bull moose that stopped to eat some clovers directly in your path because he wasn't able to hear you coming from a mile away due to there being virtually no sound given the speed your travelling.
I still want one so bad..

Thomas I bet you would really enjoy reviewing the ALL-NEW 2019 Honda CRF450L Dual Sport. Honda is the first manufacturer to offer a 450 class MX race bike in dual sport get up. So it has the same titanium intake valves, lithium ion battery w/ electric start, LED lighting, titanium fuel tank but a 6 speed gearbox instead of the CRF450R's 5 speed. Which will aid performance on motorways. The CRF450R makes 60 rear wheel horsepower in stock form. This should make about 52-53 wheel hp folks are estimating, stock.
It will weigh only 289lbs wet with a full tank of fuel as well which I believe is around 20-30 pounds less than the less powerful Suzuki DRZ400M. It is heavily anticipated and Honda only just posted their announcement on their website about a week ago. That and the all new Kawasaki Ninja 400 sports 'touring' bike, closer to a sports bike in look just more relaxed riding position. Lighter than the old Ninja 300 at 364lbs wet, it makes 46 wheel horsepower from its' new 399cc DOHC parallel twin engine and the bike has been taken to about 123 mph in top speed testing goes from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at roughly 108 mph. It's recieved nothing but praise and videos reviewing it are getting tons of views. Thanks Thomas!

Interesting to see Thomas driving something with a Dutch license plate :) Did the distributor send it over? How does something like this work?
I wonder how a racing bike would work with an electric engine... Probably top speed will be a problem (as in draining the battery quickly), but for normal road use... Could become very interesting. Same for smaller, low power options (scooters, mopeds, tuktuks, etc.) in countries like India and China. Hopefully these options will become cheaper quite fast and those countries will get cleaner air (in the big cities) and at the same time usage of fossil fuel will be less.

With cities become more and more "multicultural", including many that come from places that don't have a culture of driving or emphasis on safety in general, that riding a motorcycle on most motorways with lots of cars is simply too dangerous anyway.
And this is coming from someone who has been riding motorcycles since the age of 15, as primary transportation all through school and college, and most days to and from work for over a decade whenever the weather wasn't super hot or raining.
So for a bike that is just going to be used occasionally on backroads and offroads, and often tossed in the back of a pickup truck to get to those destinations, the lack of a large battery is actually not a problem IMO.

By the way I would like to see some more motorcycle content on this channel.

I was thinking about both the wheels connected to the electric motor so it can gain more mileage and smoother yet faster acceleration and regenerative braking 😃

You don't talk about the brakes. Thoughts? I feel it's extremely under braked considering the acceleration.

Just curious: are you allowed to freely drive non-German vehicles in Germany as a German? Or are there restrictions? I am a Dutch citizen, and as far as I understand it, I can only drive non-Dutch vehicles in NL for a two-week period, ONLY if they are leased, rented, or borrowed, AND after you fill out a certain form that exempts you from road tax... :) I read the story of a Dutch mechanic, road-testing a Germany-registered car he just repaired. The police stopped him, and wanted to fine him for not paying his road tax... Rediculous. :)

good question, but we dont have the vehicles for longer anyway

As we don't have a general road tax in Germany it's not a big deal to ride a "foreign" car or motorcycle as a german. Of course it has to be properly registered and insured in its "home country" and it has to be road legal. A few weeks of usage is no problem and you don't have to fill out any forms or do registrations.

A nuclear powered bike. How many rare earth metals are used in it? How much polution was needed to mine those metals? What the enviromental footprint of this bike, inclusive production and recycling at the end of his life?

Zero already makes a version of this bike called the MMX for special forces around the world. Infrared lighting for riding with nightvision, modifications to allow parachute air drop delivery and a switch that allows complete draining of the battery beyond safe limits if necessary. It's actually very popular.
