Every third Saturday of the month, the U5 club, in the heart of Berlin, is home to the Everything Crash Allnighter. Since we started it up in 2005, the party has become well-known not only to Berlin's lovers of the marvellous sounds of the 60s and early 70s, but way beyond.
We play classic Jamaican Ska, Rocksteady and early Reggae on vintage 45s, topping it off with rare soul grooves.
While we love our regulars from Berlin's traditional rudeboy and mod scene, we are also always very happy to see new faces enjoying themselves to great soulful music.
Why not call in and see us when you're in Berlin - and get there early to grab one of our free CDs which we mix ourselves, new every month. You can also check them out on our facebook site!!! See you at the U5!!!

I always had known this piece interpreted by Whitesnake. And I always loved it, so bluesy and dark, and at the same time groovy and bold.
I had Snakebite for years without listening to it. Years later I got curious about this riff and tried to play it by ear on guitar. It is not an impossible one, but as every single genious riff, must be played right in tempo or, forget it, you'll otherwise be playing some drunken out of tune off-blues.
Reading about the song, found out it is by Grady Tate and this version ended up explaining to me the feeling of it. It is rage melancholic soul blues.
And, well, thought I ever loved Whitesnake's, the original has the original energy imprint that makes it what it truly is: pure unmasked and honest human feeling expressed thru afroamerican music, part of the most honest, sincere and heartfelt music ever writen in the Great Popular Songbook.
Just my little story and opinion. I truly appreciate rock musicians that went back to the core origins and let that influence become a source of learning and inspiration.
Whatever people call original, most probably might have an historically ignored cultural origin, but let's be honest: only cultural fusions and cultural impacts produced on insane and unjustified dominion of Some over Others, has lead ensalved groups to search back for their true voice and orginal source of existence meaning.
I am a Latino, and as part of this etnic group, huge by all means, I embrace cultural connections no distance no matter.
Because we all learn from everyone. And every human heart, either they know it or not, has the key for imaginative creation.
    Good blessings.

The original is of Bobby Blue Bland from 1974 and it's on the opening credits of Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew McConaughey among many others.
