  • This video is all about Yamaha! I have completed a valve adjustment on a 2005 Yamaha Rhino 660. Along with the valve adjustment I will show you a compression test also. Thanks for watching!

Like some of the other comments, is there a Part 2 showing exhaust valve adjustment ? Also I just got this 2007 Rhino, been sitting in the weeds off the side of the road for a year or so, figured what the heck, stopped and asked the guy if he wanted to sell it and he told me a price, I thought it was reasonable, knew I would probably have to do some work on it and bought it. He said it had been running but not real great. Took me 3 hrs to power wash the dirt, mud, rocks and crap out of it, I doubt it's ever been cleaned, the battery compartment was full of crap, not sure how they did that. Anyway cleaned it up, let it sit to dry out, there are a few hoses missing or not connected, it's missing that big duct that comes out in front and is suppose to go over top of engine to back. Charged the battery, sprayed some starter fluid into it and turned it over, seemed to turn over fine but wouldn't start, I've seen a lot of comments online that they are cold blooded machines. Tried for about 10 minutes to start it but no go, it almost caught once but by then the battery was getting low. Charged battery back up and tried it again but no luck. It's got spark, pulled plug and compression is almost non-existent, even with a bad valve or the auto-decompression (which I just learned about) I would expect higher compression. Sounds like from what I have read online they need a pretty fast/high rpm to start, seemed like it was turning over pretty good to me, any ideas ?

Why didnt you show doing the exhaust valves? Or was it not needed for the issues the customer was having?

Put new cam in 06 rhino 660. Acts like decompression isnt working. There is no detailed video showing exactly every step. Im a decent mechanic but working on these is a different animal. Turns freely with plug out.. help

Hi... I know that this is not a Bruin video but I am wondering if you might me able to help me out a bit anyway? I have looked everywhere and I get different valve clearance setting recommendations from different places I look. Can you help me out? I have a 2006 Yamaha Bruin, Model: YFM350A - Vin: 5Y4AH10Y66A021826. The other thing is, my feeler gauge has both Metric and Inches. If you can help me out with the correct clearance settings, please tell me if they are to be used with Metric or Inches on my gauge? >
