the shoe-swapping moment was sweet until i realised that the books tells us that the best of the best go to this college, that people train for a long time to get in and they know the parapet is there, so Rhiannon showing up in completely the wrong footwear just made her seem a bit dense, and therefore the moment made me feel like I could sense the author being like "now I need to show Violet be nice, because she's a good person". And later in other scenes, I sensed "now i need to show Violet be smart, because she's got to rely on her wits" or "now I need to show she's compassionate because she cares that people die!", but unfortunately, i felt like the author did this by unintentionally undermining the intelligence or competency etc of the other characters, which made it feel a bit artificial and frustrating to me, because it was like Violet couldn't display xyz trait without someone else being weirdly bad at XYZ thing. She couldn't show Violet be smart without other people around her being silly, and she couldn't show Violet being compassionate without having everyone else around her not care if people died, and she couldn't show Violet being sneaky without making everyone else weirdly blind to her antics. (seriously, how is Xaden the only one to notice how every week the person meant to face Violet in sparring just happened to get sick?!)
Ahh love this!! And wow I didn’t even notice about the training prior to the parapet but that makes so much sense too?! Like why didn’t she think to have shoes with actual grip. And also she would have also needed good grip for mounting the dragons and stuff as well sooo 😂 and yeah the fact no one thought the competitors getting sick was a weird pattern was wild. I’d also point out the part where she goes to save Goldy from Jack and the two others because they randomly decided it was weak and should die? Like why do they care we were told it wouldn’t bond and be part of the wing anyway? But yeh thank you so much for taking the time to write all this! 😊
This is a book that I know is absolutely not for me but I love how much pure joy it brings people but the “divergent with dragons” description makes sooo much sense to me haha

It literally is tho, like there’s so many similarities you can draw between the two. 😂
oooh i've been lowkey (very lowkey) eyeing this bc my friends were talking about it so loved hearing your thoughts!
Thank you ☺️
you either love this book because it's bad or you hate this book because it's bad 😂
This is by far my favorite content about this book to date 😂
“Get a personality Dane” 😂
The cutest secret guest!
Ugh shadow control is such a turn off for me. Always a sign I’m not going to enjoy it haha
It’s too over done at this point and such a obvious choice for a broody bad boy
When you said Liam was your favourite, I knew what was going to happen to him…
It’s always the case 😂😂
I'd go the opposite. I hated this book even more than I hated ACOMAF and I hated ACOMAF a LOT.
Oo really?! What elements made fourth wing worse in your opinion?
@@LoveSam- The prose. It was written so childishly and anachronistically that I felt like Rebecca was directly insulting my intelligence.
Understandable, and the fact that it’s not YA is surprising in the way its written lol (excluding the 🌶️)
