My friend exposed a bunch of reddit mods about a year ago and was quickly silenced. Basically about 50 mods controlled about the top 200 subreddits meaning they could control posts, whats gets pushed to users etc. He went on to show how a lot of these would use this power to push ads and political messages such as on r/memes for example to make a lot of money. Unfortunately my friend got banned from all the subreddits and then from reddit with 0 explanation from both and no chance to appeal - only a small news website was able to pick up on the story before it was completely censored. I remember Attack on Titan subreddits, like Shingeki no Kyojin, Titanfolk and others.
After the very controversial ending of the Manga (Game of Thrones Final Season type of situation), there was a lot of stupid, abusive and emotional outrage but there was also a ton of very detailed, constructive and calm criticism; you can guess which type was used as a pretext to censor the other.
After few days since the premiere of the last Chapter, the Mods took out the big guns and started banning and deleting virtually everything that wasn't something like: "you just didn't understand the ending, because you are ignorant fascist, and you lost the shipping wars (whatever that is)"
I thought it was funny because some Mods should at least have similar opinions to 90% of the community - especially that, technically, they were chosen from that community.
Turns out, the only time they had any power, in their whole lives, was as the Mod of these subreddits, so the Manga itself became like the Holy Bible to them. If the story turned to shit, then, inevitably, the interest in posting and discussing on the subreddit would, gradually, die out. And so their power would die out as well.
So they, like any authoritarian regime when its illusion of control suddenly begins to crumble, started to panic and ordered the "police" to shoot the "demonstrators" and "dissidents" into oblivion. Which, of course, was the final nail to the coffin of the regime and the community.
To this day, if you look at some of these forums, it looks as if everyone actually liked the ending, except for some "trolls" and "neonazis".
Who controls the present, controls the past, and who controls the past, controls the future, I suppose.

Then a mod saw that one, went through my entire backlog and removed all my videos for "excessive self promotion." Like what am I supposed to do. Not take credit for my own work?
It's because these people steal the videos and repost them on other subs to farm karma.
Why do you think they all have tons of upvotes?
I was permanently banned from my city's subreddit, r/Sacramento, just for stating empirical evidence on who was mostly behind the majority of insane fireworks this last summer. Those MODs can go to Hell.
What did you say?
Someone needs to start a website where the users get to vote who the mods are
I find it kinda ironic that AwkwardTheTurtle is such an ACABer since he has the exact same personality as an Abusive Police Officer. Like, I know that a majority of police officers out there are good people, but there are a few abusive police out and it is usually because these individuals have massive egos and are willing to use their authority to punish anyone who mildly upsets them. These abusive mods are similar, but rather than wearing a badge they have a shield next to their name.
If I were to guess, he probably got arrested once for something like Drug Possession or a DUI and rather than blaming himself for making a dumb choice he would rather blame the police and he will angrily attack anyone and everyone who doesn’t agree with his ACAB mentality because the police officer hurt his feels when they arrested him for doing something illegal.
Like many ACAB people, he isn't against people having that kind of power; he's just wants to have that kind of power himself. Kind of like how most Liberals call Conservatives fascists and then genuinely believe that the county would be a better place of the Democratic party was the only legal party in the US.

I asked the mod directly about how to withdraw the ban. Their exact response was “ you start by giving a reason why we’d even consider it”. I gave my reason and explained how it was annoying that my clean comment was blocked yet all the vulgar comments were out in the open. Their response to that was “Yikes. Appeal denied.” That’s it. Absolute losers with nothing going in in their lives and contributing nothing to society. Waste of human life.

The moderators at r/goodanimemes are somewhat decent from what I've seen, you can disagree and argue with them and even downvote them for small things unrelated to the subreddit, and they'll take it like a champ, but the moderators of the previous subreddit before that "fiasco" happened were terrible.

Tbh the bullying of TikTok kids is the only thing they have 100% right to do
As a young female who owns two subreddits, I can confirm this is true.
Dude.. you're channel is super underrated..
I only just found your channel and I'm glad i did 😃,
Also, I've never used reddit.. and hearing about the power hungry mods.. is the exact reason why i stay well away from that website.. yikes.. it's disturbing how people could let a fictional online currency control the way they behave and treat others.. 😑
HOLY SHIT THIS AGED WELL, AWKWARD THE TURTLE STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN RECENTLY
HERES A COMMENT TO BOOST THIS VIDEO IN THE ALGORITHIM, LET'S GET THIS TO 30K LIKES
The most annoying thing is they can just reject a post, but they have to power trip and reply with hostility. I just started using reddit and I quite have a culture shock how hostile the mods are. I felt like I was talking to dictator.
Wow being a mod sure does seem like a lot of work, I wonder how much they get paid for that.
I use to collect Reddit bans like Boy Scout badges
I hate it when a subreddit has some weird rules that want you to do something like have pictures in your post, but that subreddit doesn't allow pictures in posts so you have to use an external image service and none of this is explained in the rules you're pretty much left to figure it out by yourself which is frustrating
awkwardtheturtle - 1 year ago, still the same till this day.
The most anoying one is when you ask a question and they say "put it in the questions thread". Like anyone will fucking read it
I once said on Pokémon Reddit page that grown ass man using little girls avatars are creepy, and I got called sexist and homophobic for saying this
I got a perma ban lol
sorry GhostGum I couldn't resist intentionally getting banned from a bunch of awkwardturtle's subreddits.
His note upon banning me from one subreddit was quote: "Fucking whiny baby needs a diaper change". Rarely have I lol'd harder. This person actually takes time to respond personally to every troll.
He does this for FREE
Sounds like a true looser. They seem to project on others.
Discord Mod: _Sees this video_
Discord Mod: Finaly a worthy oponent
Reddit is absolutely destroyed. You can’t even remotely disagree. Banned immediately
POV: You searched for u/akwardtheturtle on RUclips
Lol
oh wow look its the u/awkwardtheturtle documentary
at this point I feel like a third of the world population has been banned from memes
I got banned on a subreddit for two days just because my meme was similar to another post, I wasent even reposting
I don’t use reddit as much anymore. Got banned for nothing and it killed my interest in using the site
Me too man
i cant belive you have 765 subs. You really deserve more!!!
So I was permabanned just now for talking about a manga chapter 1 day after its release. I even put “manga spoilers “ flare on it . And then they called me low . These mods need to chill and get a reality check . It’s just an online discussion platform .
I almost got banned for taking a picture of my hand to show off my gloves. I'm not even joking
Lol i got banned and muted cause i shared a screenshot of a a show that the sub is about wtf
The Truth: Stalin is worse than Hitler
*20- downvotes*
Honestly Reddit mods are the human embodiment of those hot pockets hot on outside Cold and barely alive on the inside
also it sux how most reddit rules are literally holding their own communities back
