Greetings from Sweden and thank you for this informative, well made video. I also have misophonia. For me, unfortunately, it is not a blessing, only torture. It is important that people know about this condition, so thank you for spreading the word. Your Syrian accent is very beautiful and I learned some new words, as well. Keep on going!
I feel you!!! I know how torture could be. I was just listening to a generator near me and I was about to turn insane from the sound. I would love to tell in another episode what I did and how I deal with it as much as I can. Welcome to my channel ❤️❤️❤️
I encourage everyone who is learning colloquial Arabic to follow Rana's channel. She is so optimistic, informative and lovely, and her nice videos and subtitles are extremely helpful to learn the Levantine Dialect of the Arabic language. For me personally, as someone who has a background knowledge of the MSA, the Levantine Dialect helps you understand the Saudi dialect as well. They are similar in many respects. On top of all that, Rana's videos present a very rare insight into life in Syria after the civil war. Rana seems to be a very optimistic person, who has managed to keep herself sane in the face of all the troubles that has stricken her country. Watching her videos carefully will show you one example of how life and hope persists even in the darkest of times.
Thank you very much, Yousef! This comment describes well me and my channel. Thank you for taking time to watch the videos and I am so glad they are useful for your Arabic journey. Much love
dont comment usually but I really admire your job and yourself. I should say that your videos are extremely useful keep up the good work and you were looking "كتير حلو" in this video 🥺🥺🥺
This was another amazing video Rana! So much useful vocab in here and an interesting topic. Quick question! This word you use for sensitivity “الحساسيّة” is also the same word you would use for “allergy?” I learned this from studying a medical vocab video on shami dialect but maybe you have some insight? Thank you again!
Shukran kteeeer ya Madeln!! Yes! "Allergy" in Arabic is actually a "Sensitivity". When you are allergic to something, you are sensitive to that thing. This is why sometimes Arabic speakers may tell you that they are allergic to sounds/voices, allergic to pollution etc .. they mean they are sensitive but the language has it the same. I hope that was clear :))
@@arabicwithrana Yes perfect! Just wanted to make sure it was the same and I wasn’t remembering incorrectly. Thank you again! So much. I appreciate all of your work.
Thanks for your Videos with English subtitles as it helps me learn Arabic language effectively. With regards to your problem could this be due to your ear ability to hear sounds outside audible range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz? Can u check on that, and may be you can use custom made noise cancellation headphones?
Marhaba! I already checked and yes it is because I can hear the range outside the audible one you mentioned. I already asked some friends to get me the headphones as we don't have it here and people don't actually believe it is a thing.
you should make an episode talking about Palestine and the genocide taking place in Gaza, it would be great for you to use your platform to spread awareness!
I have it. I can hear people eat 2 rooms over. While others will literally rivet without hearing protection, I can hear the paper flickering in the wind.
@@arabicwithrana agreed. Especially when people are purposely jerks about it. I am glad that you are such a kind lady. I do like you, use earphones and white noise to block out my roommates as much as possible. I miss sleeping in silence. Is weird. My father had to sleep with the television on, but I can't get to sleep if I hear someone talking outside or my roommates television. Not sure about you, but I'm also diagnosed with ADHD. So all my senses are on high alert.👩🏽
