I have been a fan since I was 10 I am now 75 and still a fan. A true fan did not really care that Elvis gained weight or looked older, but we did care about the direction his life was going because we knew that it would not be good for Elvis and it wasn't. He was a once in a lifetime talent. There has not been any one yet to even come close and I don't expect that there will be in my life time. I am so glad for these videos so the ones that didn't get to experience it as it was happening still get to enjoy the greatest entertainer there has ever been. Just enjoy and don't let the ugly things people say stop you from realizing you are seeing greatness

Very tasteful how they have the band in silhouette and Elvis in the spotlight. Nowadays, such stagecraft is considered "dated" but this is refreshingly simple and to the point. It really captures the spirit of the music. They do a lot with very little. The mark of true genius. Simplicity.
I'm a huge Elvis fan. First heard him when I was 6. My Dad would play Elvis all the time on the stereogram. The stereogram had a really rich sound quality and really emphasised Elvis Presley's voice. I've been hooked on him ever since. I'm 61 now but went to Graceland for my 60th Birthday. I witnessed the end of true Rock n Roll history by being at Lisa Marie Presley's memorial service on Graceland's front lawn. Gone but not forgotten. ❤
Big Love Big Heartache came from a great movie- Roustabout.... This man was the epitome of Rock & Roll, and he still is... What I liked so much about Elvis, is he served our country and was a genuine gentleman. A standard for others to go by...
I was fortunate enough to be able to see him live. Front row! Back in 1975 a few years before his passing. He actually gave my sister a scarf! An experience I will never forget! He was an amazing singer and gave quite a preformance. I absolutely love his music and always will.. His movies were entertaining and I never missed the chance to watch one of his movies just to see his handsome face and hear him sing. I remember sitting in front of the TV as a young girl mesmerized by his singing. In The most handsome man ever! May he rest in eternal peace along with his loving family. Thank you Elvis for all you gave to the world. Gone from this world but never forgotten 💙❤💙❤
I love Elvis and his music so much that I probably would listen to him sing the phone book. I know that's an old saying but it's true! He will forever be my favorite actor and singer!

Is is possible for any one guy to have a greater amount of voice, looks, and charisma than this one? I don't think so. Is there a man on earth who wouldn't like to have that voice, those looks, and that charisma?
+CC Rider too bad, he didnt have enough personality to stand up to the colonel that made a joke and family friendly entertainer out of the biggest rock 'n 'roll rebel ever. he must have been so ashamed, having to do all these b-movies, when you could see in king creole or flaming star, how talented he was as an actor as well.
MrSchmolko, when Elvis sang about being "caught in a trap," he could have been singing about his career. He was trapped between the Colonel - who managed his career and measured success simply in terms of money earned - and his father, Vernon - who managed his money, and knew little and cared less about investment. The Colonel had Vernon wrapped around his finger, and he had some of the members of the Memphis Mafia working for and/or on his behalf. When Elvis tried to sever his ties with the Colonel in 1973, Vernon and the Mafia went to work to change Elvis' mind.

Have said this a few times before - I've always felt this was Elvis's most beautiful and sensitive ballad, wonderfully written and set to music by three of his best composers and arrangers of the time. It simply but expertly shows off Elvis's true talent as a most accomplished singer with a most unique and beautiful vocal vibrato that he could masterfully speed up or down, always at the proper moment(s) in a song, always making it it look so easy and natural for him and for us, as viewers. This sadly understated and often forgotten ballad was used deliberately as the final closing number for the movie and worked so well - also showing off Elvis's great stage charisma and very charming and proper manners for this type of ballad. It also comes from a movie that Elvis himself stated in later interviews - that he loved making very much and felt was his best effort and best film to that date and beyond and felt honored to work with the two big stars in the production. As a closing note - it is also sad that this great ballad is usually never attempted - by even the best Elvis impersonators. Other very nice musical numbers from "Roustabout" included "What A Wonderful World" and the "Roustabout" theme number heard in the early part of the movie. Thanks for reading....RIP Elvis - you'll always be remembered. His movies can be viewed over and over, year after year, and still be enjoyed, leaving viewers with a good feeling and alot of entertainment for 90min.
He sure had a delicate way of floating his vocals into different octaves. Beautiful performance of what would have been a forgotten song by a lesser talent.
