Damnnnn, I'm Dutch, we always thought Austrian German was weird, comparing to "regular" German, but this Swiss German accent is a whole new level of weirdness. Thanks for the video.

***** It's not about judging what's normal, since that's biased to one's taste. Dutch is NOT a German accent, whereas THIS is still supposed to be "German". The level of weirdness becomes apparent when you scroll down the comments and even Germans need to read the subs.
i'm swiss, lets skip the "what its supposed to be/weirdness part". high german is the official language, the language we read and write, watch television and so on. swiss german is completely different and even tough "it is supposed to be german" and obviously has a lot of similarities, it is a completely different language, and that is the reason why germans need subs. its not high german. and we are happy it's not.
***** whatever makes you happy! I'm not commenting on whether you should be happy about it or not. but what's your language called again? Swiss GERMAN, the fact that it's so deviated from high German, up to a point that it's not understandable for the Germans, just proves my point.

bigtao97 Immerhin 8mio Schweizer verstehen es. Dazu noch die ganzen Deutschen, die ich kenne, die kein Problem damit haben, es zu verstehen. In Süddeutschland oder Bayern werden die meisten auch kein Problem haben - sind also bald mehr Leute, die es verstehen als umgekehrt :D

TheBarbahaba I speak English and can understand both Irish and Scottish accents, although with difficulty I give you that. I also speak German and I did not understand a single word of what was said.
In my opinion Swiss German is not an accent but a different language, so it is not comparable to Scottish or Irish English. To avoid confousions it should be called something else, for instance simply Swiss, but that language is definitely not German.
