Void plague currently crits in pvp for 520+ damage and is instant cast. It's also very obvious this is a pve change to get affliction locks online. Would I have done it a different way? Sure. But it's clear SoD has no intention of stopping the runaway train that is pvp rn
I know PvP is the true content, but for those of us that are willing to suffer through raiding for some gear, do you think the UA buffs would be enough to bring an affliction hybrid into play? I'm thinking something like 17 (nightfall) / 3 (improved imp) / 21 (ruin) and trying to snapshot curses with demonic grace might be close to useful, especially with the mobility required on some fights.
That's good news; 10% off optimal is totally fine with me. 20% would feel bad, but it sounds like this buff might shore some of that up, unless of course the life tap adjustment puts destro further ahead with imp being more active and benefiting from fire runes/talents.
Affli need much more buff cos in general warlock dps is not ok at all.If they put drain life in pandemik crith and make drain soul execute mechanick that will push a bit affli.Aslo will be nice for pvp too cos we not shineing so much.Also if they put 70% slow on shadow and flame will be great

OP perhaps in 1v1, but not in group scenarios like STV where your ccs nevermind if a grp of melees come to you and instant kills you. Stuns & burst dmg = no chance. For STV you better go destro/demo for sp spam. Our dots has no to zero impact on this burst pvp event. But yeah, for open world 1v1 sl/aff is strong, but not OP.

Regular Classic Crits are indeed 150% of the normal damage. With Ruin Talented, Destro-Crits are 250% of the normal damage. For Dots, it should be 150% too, but after testing, it turns out Pandemic Rune Crits are for 200% of the normal damage.
Against people who open up on you first, if deathcoil is in cd, I find it very difficult to finish casting fear into casting UA. I rather UA being a utility DoTs with minimal damage but can be instant cast. (In PvP context that is. Of course in PvE, you would want UA to hit hard).
this change is NOT a mistake... when you look at Shadowpriests being more deadly then a affliction warlock they abolsutely needed this change. there's no reason why a specific class like warlock should be out Dotted by a Spriest.

You are right regarding the dispel. I find warlock generally extremely strong in pvp, clear S Tier for me. I dont think we need buffs. Also if something gets buffed, i prefer moderate 10-20% changes over a 120% base damage increase. It feels like they dont know what they are doing to me.
@@goldbowser im sorry if a came across as know it all but. The goal of that spell is to prevent anyone from removing your dots. Its very pvp intensive. As they implemented it it wasn't what it was supposed to be. They didn't buff it because warlocks needs buff, they buffed it because it wasn't what it was normally. What I'm saying is, if you dispel it kills you. Thats what its meant to do. Dot do damage so slowly if someone can come across and just dispel everything, your toon isj just worthless. But with unstable A... if you dispel you can kill yourself instead of just hurting yourself. It was designed as an anti remover and an eye opener for those who casual dispel everything using decursive not using their brains. If the spell only did 500 dmg people would still dispel it and heal up. But if it can kill you one shot, trust me ... people wont dispel it. Trust me, when the spell came out... i killed so many priest using it. It was crazy, 100% hp to dead. So if someone is scripting or bot assisting, well they are dead. Anyways i digress. The point of my argument is that, its not a buff its just the way it was meant to be. Blizzard doesn't have a huge team working SOD. They add things and retweak them over and over. Look at the bosses in ST...4 million and then 1.2. They arent investing effort into it.. we are paying to play a beta version of wow.
SL is pretty decent but making it out to be a god spec in pvp is not true. Because you have no range, u practically have to get in melee range to hit somebody. Which means you are getting hit way more, which could theoretically cancel out any damage reduction from soul link. Range is huge in PvP. Please post some actual BG videos, i would like to see. SL works great in open world 1v1, but not in BG's
SL is a support class in BGs. Not a carry. SL is also the best base defender in AB. Just because you arent getting most lasthits on opponents doesnt mean you are not very strong.
How are locks doing against rogues right now? rogues seem to be two shotting people right now. from what i have heard even locks and tanks in general. If blizzard nerfs it, it will not be UA but something else that will make the class worse... because that's how blizzard works.

Every BG has like 1-3 priests spamming dispel so UA is huge

Affliction is already viable in raids, performing about 10-20% below destro. It will be even more viable.

Locks beat every class.
Rogue has no chance at all. I can beat them even without pvp trinket and without coil. The selfheal haunt and drain life provides is just too strong

ua changes are needed, weakest dot besides siphon life with a casttime.
agree its weak damage, but it provides dispel protection and the penalty being 5sec silence is strong
