Chemical dependancy is a very scary road, I've been there myself. I wish Mike all the best. Josh kicked his demons and is back in the fold, maybe Mike can too.
I was in rehab with Mic Todd in 2007. Him and all these other musicians would jam at this show once a week. I was one of about 20 people to see him perform up close. Pretty cool.
@@clitlicker45 no before. He actually got fired from the band while we were in there via certified mail. I guess he got rehired at some point after that.
....i have just found out about this tonight and im utterly mortified not only did we loose josh (but now returned) we now loose micke...........such a damn shame i consider my self an avid coheed fan but been out the loo recentley regarding coheed news and im just stunned...
@InAWorldOfLies The sad truth is that we found that people don't watch the full interview, although you may. We will eventually release the whole thing, but we want certain parts to stand on their own so people don't overlook them.
i dislike that they only refer to him as the "drug-robbing" bassist, rather than the person that he is. yes he made a mistake (who among us hasn't) but he still has a name.
Uh, I REALLY have to work hard to wrap my head around this... - He went into a drugstore...with a cellphone... with a text saying he had a bomb, all to get his hands on some oxycontin? What, he can't buy that shit like regular drug addicts, on the street? HE'S A ROCK AND ROLL MUSICIAN _FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!_ he should have ALL the drugs in the *WORLD* at his Beck And Call. This is a seriously disturbed individual; a real fucked up guy. 'Cos I'm telling you: *NOBODY* has to work *that* hard for drugs, and *_certainly_* not a bassist in a popular rock band. I mean... what a fucking GOON, man.
Bijinius Cross For what i've seen from interviews and shows so far, Mic looks like a great guy (when he is sober), but i sadly agree with u, you got to be reaaallly high to rober a story for drugs when you are a Rockstar with millions of easier ways to get heroin
First off, do you have any idea what it's like suffering from an addiction to opiates? If you don't you need to shut it. Going to withdraw from painkillers is one of the most horrible things anyone can experience. The pain and sickness you feel is unbearable. You will do almost anything to stop it. So it wasn't for a ""few pills" to get high. Secondly, because he was sick he wouldn't have been able to perform and he didn't want to let down the band or fans. So he did what he had to.
Yeah, no. A mistake would be forgetting someone's birthday, or accidentally dinging someone else's car, or not wanting to reprise your role as The Hulk in the Avengers movie. What this guy did was do a lot of drugs and rob a Walgreens at gunpoint. When you do some shit like that, you are then referred to as a drug-robber. If you also happen to be really good at bass, you are then a drug-robbing bassist.
Of course Mike is out... he's got serious problems if he's going to mess up the best thing ever for what... a few pills? RIGHT before the first show of the tour?!?! I would say he's selfish, but truth is he's very sick.
He was already sober. And had decided to stay clean but fucked up the chance to live out his dream job and let so many people down. You can't really defend his position.
Do I think it was wise? No. Third, Not only does Mic have to deal with the pain of opiate withdraw he has to suffer from the pain of cancer. Cancer is extremely painful. What the fuck would you do if you were in pain 24/7? Pain that simply cannot be eased with OTC'S. You would do whatever you had to do to make it stop.
What drug addicted rock star has to pull off armed robbery? You clearly have fans who use that would happily give you stuff. Or don't rock stars have like dealers that just hang out on these tours?! I have never heard of a rock musician who is currently on tour doing something like this. If it was off season and he was broke maybe. But come he has to have connections how could that have seemed reasonable. Granted I guess I'd ask that to anyone who tried armed robbery. Promise that is never going to be the answer to any to issue. Outside of someone holding your family hostage and saying rob this store or I kill everyone here, that will never be a smart choice. Armed robbery of civilian not in the game will never make your life better.

Can we talk about how cool it would be to buy comics from Claudio
Yeah. Not only buy comics from Claudio but fall deep into conversation about heaven's fence and all the comics!!🤟🤟🎸🤯
But mic is such an amazing bassist
The song playing through the whole video is "Deranged".
Deranged. It's the song they did for Batman: Arkham City. Damn good song. The only reason I bought the album, actually.
Mike Todd is a hell of a bassist and musician.. Shame he is not in the band anymore

does anybody know which song is playing in the background?
I used to live in that city and go to that Walgreens
coheed wont be the same.
@IICJZII nope. josh eppard is back and they have a new bassist. they're deep into the recording on album 6
you said the truth is that he was sick...i dont understand everyone freaking out about your comment.
1:39 what song is it?
So is Wes Styles the new bassist for good? Or just for touring?
This is heartbreaking to hear. =[
Okay well it's been seven goddamned months where's the rest of it?
It seemed like the true end of Coheed....and then Josh returned ❤❤❤❤❤😊
well put, sir
You, sir, are a true fan. -_-
Those of us who didnt want to rob pharmacies went to dope
oh my god WES join coheed! be the bassist and the keyboardist!!
@Charlestippens because the new Batman game has a song by them...

With the way that Claudio descripes Todd, it's not right to label him as a "drug-robbing" bassist. Reductionist, at best.
