There is also a very important mesh screen behind the cover of the pump head. Don't forget to clean that! We have a MX 150 and we only need about 2 1/4 pounds oil pressure, sometimes less. Not sure what the MX 300 calls for as a starting point, make sure to check the manual. 4 pounds sounds excessive, but maybe because it's a larger unit it needs more. For the record, the heat is 'free', but the electric bill is higher running these units.
Thanks for the tip about the screen. As far as oil pressure goes the manual for this unit calls for 3.5-5 pounds of oil. I assume larger combustion chamber allows for a bigger flame thus requiring more oil pressure
hi there had a lanair for many years , back then they had a design flaw in the oil heating charge area , caused the nozzle to clog .if you have that problem down the line drop me i line , they make alot of good heat , i used around 1800 + gallons of oil a heating season , john
With the very limited hours I had on the unit, the burner didn't need to be cleaned, I inspected it. I installed this unit about mid way through winter last year so it has minimal hours on it.
no target in that one, the one at the shop i worked at had a target in the burn chamber, those heaters work very well, don't remember the make of it though, it was red lol
There is a target at the very back of the chamber. The washer and nut in the dead center and about a foot above hold it in place. It's about 2" thick concrete-like material.
I recently purchased an Lanair XT-75. Nothing but problems from the start. They do not install at all. You are on your own. Would not run from day 1. So far, I found 4 wires not connected. Finally got it running and it quits after a very short time. Parts they sent did not work for my application. Purchased more, got it installed. I have asked several times, about returning the unused parts and they just ignore the question. Asked to speak tp a manager, they said one would contact me. That was last week. Still have heard nothing. I am into it for OVER $5000 so far and it may have burned a gallon of oil. If you are thinking about purchasing one of the POS, DON'T !!! I have had 2 friends waiting to purchase one of these based on my experience. I advised them against it.
You have it running but it quits after a minute? Did you see the part in the video where I Put the electrical tape over the hinge on the access panel to the nozzle assembly? I had that same issue when I installed mine. I was getting too much light through that hinge and it was tricking the electric eye into thinking the unit wasn’t working properly. Give that a try and let me know. I’m running about 14 psi of air and 4 psi of oil
Going Live from the shop on November 25th at 7:30pm Eastern Standard Time! See you guys there!

This is actually my second one. My original one was about 30 years old and still ran great, it was just time for an upgrade!
We had one of these in our shop growing up. I don’t think we ever cleaned it 😮
Prolly a whole pile of ash in there!
Noodle art…funny!!!
Hey, Thanks for watching until the end!
Did I miss it or did you not clean the burner?

You should wear a respirator! Never know what is in that dust!
I know I know. I even mentioned that in the video…
I Just want folks to work smarter. You now have new knowledge. Use it!

That would be a clean burn if it was red

Definitely better than noodle art.
Haha I appreciate you watching all the way to the end!

@@EverythingElliott Another wire was not connected properly (this makes 5 so far). The light to the low oil indicator was not connected properly.
@@stevejeremy8028 the warning light shouldn't stop it from running though?
Seems kinda loud
The fan is a little loud, but its pushing a lot of air, so that's to be expected
