I am very concerned about our young families in our parish. Many young families have opted out of Sunday mass because of COVID. Our parish needs to reach out to them as more people are being vaccinated. What really is needed in our parish is to offer a pre-K religion program during mass. To date, there has not been a preschool religious education (ages 5 and under) where the children can learn about their faith while the adults are attending mass. Pre-COVID, to my adult children attended non-Catholic services where this was offered. They were raised going to church every Sunday where this program was offered many years ago. Volunteers babysat for the children under the age of two. Today, if you asked them about their parish they would tell you the Church is not meeting the needs of their young children's faith formation. Finally, my question is how do we build a relationship with these families if things remain the same? I did not recognize or see this being addressed in the survey. In addition, It would have been helpful to have a comment section at the end of each topic.
