The people who did this to you are definitely known. It will be interesting to see how they deal with Society now that everything is public. We don't live in the same world we did a few years ago. It's the consumer that runs the show now.
@gluecksdrache2054 You've confused culture with perceptions. A person was threatened, plain and simple. Stating its a 'cultural thing' is an over simplification of a complex issue. Having worked in Military Aviation as both a member an aerospace worker and having traveled the world.... what Dan has encountered is sadly normal with a few airlines. Kuwait, Egypt, North Korea are places I would not travel 'hard stop' because its known to be chaotic at best and dystopian and Kafkaesque as 'the usual' and deadly at worst.
Absolutely. They are the big losers. But I believe in redemption. If they had the integrity to match their bravura, they would send an unconditional apology to Dan. But human nature is such that only a small fragment of humanity does the right thing.
A single employee can indeed do permanent harm to a brand - The long list of people mentioning that they will never fly with this airline due to fear, and also many viewers with immediate cancellations after hearing your scary experience, is stellar proof of this effect.
But it's not exactly single person is it... We also have the captain that went absolutely rogue. I feel like this goes beyond and maybe even shows the culture of that airline.
@TAmzid2872Dubai is an artificial city whose whole purpose is to be a capitalist playground so I wouldn't want to go there even if the people were welcoming. The world has so many wonderful places to see, why waste your time on the middle east.
@Travers303 I agree with that, was just speaking from the usual laymans point of view. i get that everyone has different tasts, just your original comment came off as a little racist especially with the context of uhh, all the things that happen there.
That single crew member managed to get the airline the sort of negative advertising that money can't buy. Be sure to send him a thank-you card when you hit a million subs next week.
23:15 is your answer. Female passenger complained about the recording, she was in row 1 - likely to be someone important. @NonstopDan you really lack the most basic understanding of a different culture.
As an airline pilot who frequently flies in the region (deadheading on many of the airlines you’d mentioned) the captain on this flight was very unprofessional. He did everything we’re taught not to do. Literally. Absolutely shameful.
@Jamiepunk1 In what way being Muslim makes them invulnerable to lower NPS? All airlines in the world except for select few (notably, most American airlines) receive big state subsidies so in that way most airlines are cushioned. But Kuwait is especially exposed to bad reputation. Why? Well because it operates in the geographical hub that has a fierce competition and three much larger players (Qatar, Emirates, Etihad) that have better fleet, greater route variety. What can Kuwait offer to outperform on key selection criteria? Probably customer service and exceptional treatment of clientele would be one thing, but now they're taking a hit here. Big hit.
@Jamiepunk1what does them being Muslim have anything to do with this?! Do you call French / American/ South African/ Brazilian airlines “ those Christian airlines”?!
@Jamiepunk1 Super dumb point and shows your weak knowledge, so what makes Etihad, Emirates (both of the UAE), which also is a Muslim nation yet they soar with record profits? has nothing to do with that lol. You're coming into more strict regimes and then expecting you can shit on them like back home "FREEEDOM LAND" and surprised this shit happens? 😭 Can you try also shitting on North Korean airlines and then seeing if they'll be happy about it? They'll probably keep you and torture you for ever like that one American who got stuck in NK. Moral is: Respect different places and how they operate. People who're saying "WOW, I'll avoid XYZ now" does nothing. 99% of the time, if you as a normal consumer use it it's all good. These "airline journalists" just farm clout
They have a very outdated and old fashioned outlook on the world. I don’t think they realise the impact of social media will haven on their business, especially when a popular vlogger exposes their true behaviour and attitudes.
@FurudalAnd that’s why they’re bound to fail in developing a post-oil economy, much like they were sucking wind through the World Wars after Japanese cultured pearls destroyed their last great export.
@toobeezymost royal family members don’t care abt being recoded and the most important ones (the ones that don’t like to be recorded) have private jets that’s not the issue here
Please don’t EVER hand your phone over to anyone! 😮 even another passenger! You could have showed her while driving it yourself. You probably would have achieved most if not all of the disarming outcome. Never EVER hand your unlocked phone over to anyone freely while travelling! 🙏
Purser created a situation by lying to the captain and also for involving another passenger due to his incompetence, He should absolutely lose his job for it.
I think this is it. It seems like the purser messed up by lying to the captain and making a big fuss. And now they've done considerable harm to the Kuwait Airlines brand. They should lose their job.
The purser probably also lied to the lady on row 1. It isn’t hard to believe he said to her ”hey, that guy over there has been filming you” which naturally got her triggered.
But what is mind boggling is that Kuwait Airlines had a chance to apologize and make this better. They thought it was better to ignore it. Seems like they have no clue.
If he gets banned from Kuwait airways he should include that statement in his introduction on every video like cahil does to qatar airways on his opening in every video. "Proudly banned from Kuwait airways" 🎉
Only allowing pre approved propaganda reviews is disappointing & downright unacceptable from any reputable business. To actually threaten your customers is just a whole new level of bad
@FurudalIt’s the same across many businesses. Just ask computer parts reviewers. Apart from blackout days some block access to reviewers who do not post positive reviews to early access of products. Some demand editorial control as well. Some airlines are better than others.
I mean: All crews can have bad days, they just happen. But this was first class AND they did know on beforehand that they had someone with a big audience on board. That is marketing-wise a big, big present of free and trustworthy advertisement if they would have been able to deliver a flawless service.
Oh wow I LITERALLY booked a flight on Kuwait Airlines yesterday, round trip to Paris. Thank God I’m still in the cancelation window! Bye bye, going to Emirates instead!
What I am gathering is that the purser is lazy, bad at his job and just a bad employee in general He lied and made up exaggerated stories about what Dan was doing to save his job. This purser is going to cost Kuwait Airways alot of money.
For any reputable international company to make death threats is just sickening. KU have a new CEO I would try and also reach out to him to put this on his radar.
Two suggestions: when the purser mentioned the police you should have asked for an embassy representative to be called as well (certainly when the cops showed up) and never, Never, NEVER hand your phone to someone else.
What do you thing would happen to you if you refuse to hand over your cell phone to the police for a check of your political opinion when entering the US ?
True, however, Dan being willing to show his footage to dispel the accusations of what he videotaped did settle suspicion but they could have also confiscated his phone and deleted all of his footage. Scary shit.
@manfredceriatke6301US citizens and green card holders can refuse to open their electronics. We should not however expect the same rights in other countries, that is not a thing and Americans do love to project their US rights on other countries, which is interesting.
@zionlion02 I was born and raised in the USA, and in the past two decades or so you have very few actual rights. We live in a police state and most of the police are trained by your IDF. Ask me how I know.
@zionlion02This, there are different laws and regulations in different countries. That’s the case in the US. Some things are allowed in certain states, including driving regulations.
That purser needs to be FIRED! He sat on his duff during the flight and made his female colleague do all the work! And the only time he got off his arse was to harass and threaten a passenger because of his own incompetence. It’s likely he LIED to the other First Class passenger & Captain telling them you were recording people because he knew he hadn’t done his job! I hope he find himself unemployed!
I think you're giving the purser too much credit. I strong suspect that he went around and told all the passengers 'there's a guy recording, does that bother you?' rather than having someone else come to him.
I cancelled my Kuwait Airways flight and will never be flying with them again. 👎🏻 You should contact a lawyer and see if you cant file a lawsuit against the captain and crew that threatened your safety. I am glad you’re never flying that airline again!
Kuwait has something of a reputation for being insular and protecting its own. Forget it, Dan, it's Kuwait. Did ya see in the story where the "offended" woman was telling Dan how everybody knows everybody, they're all family, and she could help him avoid trouble with the police? Yeah... she was speaking true.
"There is a passenger recording kuwaiti guests, he does not want to stop, one woman said she didnt not want to be in it but he recorded her as well" That's all it takes really lol
I was gonna say, the purser definitely told some tales to get the captain that steamed up. Also, the female "passenger" he talked to was an employee 100%.
You’re not a true kuwaiti, kuwait airways are the nicest flight, they offer direct flights, nice meals, seat rooms, and nice staff also not much of air bumps.
Honestly as much as I feel embarrassed of this video but Kuwait airways is becoming one of the best. In the past it wasn’t great but now it’s one of the best
I'm sure the purser lied to the Captain and the female passenger to get them riled up. Crazy how only 1 person could damage the image of an airline, country, and maybe an entire region. I'm glad the police were chill. I also appreciate the disclaimer @ 24:28
I think that's the case as well. With that said, the pilot should have the common sense to not take a colleagues word on anything. There's a reason why they're the captain of that vessel. It's a common problem within most professions. People will most likely always side with colleagues. There use to be an old saying for this, but it's not used anymore due to it being used for racist purposes later on. Don't touch a tar baby. In other words, the consequential actions of another person can stick to you. You would think more people would have common sense concerning this stuff, but clearly they don't. Sometimes it requires a harsh lesson before they learn. Let your colleagues deal with their own problems. Don't get involved.
@sebastienbolduc5654The company culture is different in the middle east. Any mistakes of a team member is counted as the whole team's. It's an issue of individual vs communal culture
@danielles7766 absolutely they should be. I was just saying if that purser did his job and was professional and kind to passengers, there wouldn't be a 2-part video's worth of negative PR online about them.
That passenger in the front row didn't see you filming. The purser was trying to get a kuwaiti citizen to back him up and told her you'd recorded her. Wonder what he was so afraid of? Talk about the striesand effect.
Maybe she was secret staff. Why would she also endorse the airline during her interaction and ask him what he thinks? A regular passenger would not call the airline a family.
Wow, this story is gold. My family and me fly from Australia to Europe on a semi regular basis but now I will never ever even consider flying with Kuwait Airways. Oh boy, you were lucky to get of with sweaty hand palms. Keep the good work up, the world need honest guys like you
I’m from Kuwait, and I can tell you the employees were clearly scared of the review. Especially with the airline currently under fire for reporting a net loss and having a reputation for being ruthless with staff. They don’t hesitate to fire people, so the flight attendant accused you of recording other passengers just to pressure you into deleting the videos.
And also it doesn’t mean Kuwaitis behave like that or all crew members have such attitude They are right to review the attitude of the staff and upgrade the quality it’s part of their liability as managing directors of the airline
I fell sorry for you as you seem like a decent person. I've worked all over the middle east including Kuwait, currently in KSA. The attitude of most of your citizens is awful, I would never work there again.
@glynnepritchard2526 Just out of curiosity What did you work as Unfortunately there are certain jobs and/or nationalities that certain Kuwait’s too down upon and miss treat. I am Kuwaiti and wish that some people would lessen their level of self importance cause it’s so destructive and dehumanizing. I’m sorry you had a bad experience.
I am a frequent flyer and I fly many airlines all around the world. I flew Kuwait Airways for the first time in Jun-2023 from London to Kuwait City in a 777-300. The reason I flew this airline was because of a behind-the-curtain video uploaded by Sam Chui showing the efforts made by the said airline. Long story short, my Kuwait Airways flight was by far the worst experience to this day. I paid for the wifi but it didn't work, and they didn't even refund. Cabin crew members were not polite. The list goes on. Never flying with them again.
I’d strongly recommend making a formal complaint here, what you experienced was utterly unacceptable and most probably criminal. It is essential that complaints are made so that organizations, such as KA, can rectify such behaviour and prevent it happening again. If I were on the board of KA I would want to know about this so as to avoid damage to the reputation, brand and ultimately income and profitability of KA
@Sheikh-XX not just first class. Any passenger at all should not be given any kind of threat. In the airline industry, these threats are treated with the highest severity level. The purser and pilot technically could've been arrested if the whole interaction was recorded and shown to the police. I may be wrong about this, but it's a logical hypothesis.
Hey, absolutely correct! Emirates cabin crew are great-whether out of Dubai or KL-but tbh KLM out of Dubai are the best wrt to how they interact with infants/young kids-female KLM cabin crew seem to adore junior passengers.
What do you mean? Do you think someone would harm you? If anything the fact that your a women would give you more guarantee of safety and respect because of the culture that we have.
@issa-__ Evidently you aren't thinking very deeply. Euphemistically threatening someone's safety because they might review your flight in a way you don't like makes other people wonder what else they might be arbitrarily threatened for.
@issa-__ Because a bully purser from a Middle Eastern airway might feel that he could bully women more? Guess that's outside of the realm of possibility?
@Novasquad77 Yes. You have a 5th amendment right not to incriminate yourself (they can't force you to unlock the phone or show them something), but if you hand them an unlocked phone they can do what they want with it.
@EstrellaViajeViajero is this 5th amendment (right not to incriminate yourself ) only for US citizens/green card holders or also applicable to foreigners in US airports? Thanks!
@BMMia711 tecnically, the constitution doesn't specify the rights to be only for americans or green card holders, but for everyone on US soil. People are only trying to make up there is a difference now, because Trump is breaking laws left and right, and trying to make it seem it's okay because "it's not americans"
the rich from there certainly fly all over the world to ditch the restrictions of their culture, while the poor get punished. A bunch of middle eastern royals rented a mansion in Beverly Hills for a week, imported their supercars, raced all over the city streets at night, and then left before they could be caught, except by citizens reporting to the local news .
As a non Kuwaiti, Kuwait Airlines had the worst service of any airline I've ever experienced. No smiling, no acknowledgement or eye contact- the flight attendants showed obvious preferential treatment towards their own citizens. I will never fly Kuwait again even if it was cheap
That cabin crew has probably cost the airline hundreds of thousands of dollars in negative publicity, the irony is that the flight was going fine, uneventful until a single crew member decided to harass Dan. Inexplicably the purser KNEW you had a near-million subscriber channel and chose this unhinged behaviour. What a spectacular fuck-up 😂
"unprofessional"? Yes! "THE MOST unprofessional"? No! - The most unprofessional = threats against your safety. Thank you for standing up to a bully...; subscribed!
There are many comments here correctly stating that the purser did incredible PR damage to the airline. The thing is, Dan gave the airline a chance to respond. They could have stopped much of the damage to their reputation with a polite and professional statement. If I avoid Kuwait airways in the future, it will be because the airline didn't see fit to comment on the purser and captain's behavior. The airline's silence speaks a thousand words. Thanks for the warning Dan.
You have no legal obligation to talk to ANYONE but cops once on the ground. Very abusive airline. And they ALL lied to you. Not a good sign culturally.
You have made a very good case for every sensible person in the World to BOYCOTT KUWAIT AIRWAYS - Thank you for the RISKS that you took, may it serve as warning to give KUWAIT a very wide berth!! John
Germany already did once when they banned Jews from flying on them so maybe another ban is in order. And to think they were freed from Saddam, next time leave them to their own devices.
@ErwinWertwijn The Same Israeli Jews that are murdering innocent Palestinian women, men, and children? Banning Israeli citizens all over the world is the right thing. We are witnessing a live genocide in the modern era
The message is of these last two videos is "Fly safe" and avoid Kuwait Airlines because if they go after a "large" RUclips flight vlogger like this, imagine what they would do to someone without that.
21:43 I don’t wonder why you chose not to delete the videos at that point. That was very smart, because that was the only evidence left that you had NOT recorded other people extensively or without permission. The videos were actually your best defense.
Yes, but her story is accurate, when I flew the same flight, kids were playing and running around the airplane, and no one was concerned about passengers walking around while the plane was landing.
You handled this with incredible calm, Dan. Situations like this remind us why independent reviews matter more than ever in today’s curated travel world.
And that is what bullying looks like. So glad that you stood your ground. So glad the police were sensible. And, now we know about Kuwait Airways ... to think that we would have otherwise only known they had great affordable first class ... 🙏
@stephenhibbert3835 Kuwait airways staff are non-kuwaitis. I think pursuer was scared of losing his job. When dan arrived to Kuwait our Kuwaitis police were nice. no one will jail you in Kuwait. Kuwait is 75% non kuwaitis
@Kgdfgdfgdfmy issue was with the exterior pre landing video starting at 16 minutes in his first video. Now as a suggestion to anyone visiting the middle east is to never photograph oil facilities or military instillations especially not US involved bases and make Shure they are not in the background the picture is the crime. feel free to google what are penalties are in the region
@stephenhibbert3835I think this is common sense. military bases or any critical infrastructure is not allowed to be recorded anywhere not only in the Middle East.
@mrrq8946that makes since. But the irony of the purser telling him about respecting culture while not realizing that is not typically respectful in western countries.
@TheSweet1975no one knows all your culture. You practice your cultures. Don’t take offence when others don’t. It’s not others’ job to practice your culture. For example, do Muslims stop practicing their religious cultures when they’re in a non-Islamic country?
@TheSweet1975 She was a plant, for f*ck's sake, man!!! If you can't see that...!!! Dan didn't take any pictures of the witch! Who, by the way, threatened HIM!!!
@TheSweet1975 If you cannot assimilate with Western Culture, close your borders and do not sell airline tickets to people not sharing your value system. It seems that you expand your limited culture Jihad now to videos as well? How about putting all your intolerances on your tickets and advertisements. Let us see who will dare to fly with you then. But that will suit you?
I had a bad experience flying with Kuwait Airways. They treat people differently based on race and nationality. If you're from Europe or the U.S., they’re nice, but if you're from a poorer country or a person of color, they act like you're not important. It didn’t feel right at all. I’m not sure if it’s the airline or the whole country, but either way, I’ll never fly with them again. Qatar Airways and Emirates have always been way better in my experience.
I understand your point, but I don’t think the class you’re flying in should determine how you’re treated. Economy isn’t free-people pay for that just like any other class. Also, my experience wasn’t just on the plane-it included how security and staff at the airport treated me. And for the record, I’ve flown business class with Kuwait Airways too, and the attitude was still there. When I flew with Qatar Airways and Emirates, I was treated with respect regardless of my background or ticket class. That’s the kind of standard I expect when I travel.😊

I assume you have no training or perception of the different cultures and how the chain of command works in that case.
The people who did this to you are definitely known. It will be interesting to see how they deal with Society now that everything is public. We don't live in the same world we did a few years ago. It's the consumer that runs the show now.

Unbelievable. They turned a neutral review, or better, into a PR disaster and it's all of their own doing.
Absolutely. They are the big losers. But I believe in redemption. If they had the integrity to match their bravura, they would send an unconditional apology to Dan. But human nature is such that only a small fragment of humanity does the right thing.
@cchris874 They are too primitive and backwards to have the class to do that.
what PR? This is a yt channel, not international pr release or cnn news
@tyyg9469 No one watches CNN, just so you know.
@tyyg9469 Bad reviews is never good, especially when your staff handles it poorly.
If the employee was ever worried about getting fired , he now has a very serious reason to
I bet nothing happens to him. They will probably get rid of the stewardess who struggled to do all the work as he watched on.
The threats can put him in jail.
he's safe - he's family :)
@Arek_R. Yep, you done get it. 😂
This guy missed a trick. He should have complained to the police that the trolly-dolly (that is all he is) threatened him.
Kuwait Airways new marketing slogan "cabin crew takes good care of you during the flight, but we cannot promise your safety on the ground".
Well, apparently the purser did not take good care of Dan during the flight either XD
I’m glad you’re ok, Dan
😂😂 this was in answer to samiarikainen2833
Indeed., crazy stuff😠
"Cabin crew treats you like crap and can't guarantee your safety if you tell anyone.

This put me off going anywhere near the Middle East at all.
@Travers303 Not even places like Dubai or Qatar? Or are you jsut being racist or am i just taking an exaggeration too seriously?
@TAmzid2872Dubai is an artificial city whose whole purpose is to be a capitalist playground so I wouldn't want to go there even if the people were welcoming. The world has so many wonderful places to see, why waste your time on the middle east.

Kuwait Airways " We can not guarantee your safety when you land " should be their new slogan .
Or just "we cannot guarantee your safety"
The safety (poorly worded) was more of being arrested once the plane landed
That's a nice slogan for the whole of Middle East.
Saddam says hi
Police turn out to be 10x nicer than the staff lmao
That single crew member managed to get the airline the sort of negative advertising that money can't buy. Be sure to send him a thank-you card when you hit a million subs next week.
Hahahaha
Yep! New subscriber here and I found him through the first Kuwait airlines video.
in the purser's defense this is how every man is in the middle east. any sort of inconvenience is treated as an attack on their dignity.
😂😂😂
23:15 is your answer. Female passenger complained about the recording, she was in row 1 - likely to be someone important. @NonstopDan you really lack the most basic understanding of a different culture.
Since the purser found your account as you mentioned in the video, the thought of him watching this right now is kinda funny 😅
Yes! I hope he is also enjoying the comment section, pointing out what an asshat he is 😅
Too bad Dan didn't say his name out loud. I would have checked his name tag and let the world know what a moron this guy was
He’s too dumb to watch it and realise he’s the bad guy though. You can’t help people like that.
The now unemployed purser. 🤭
Exactly! I hope he’s been fired and that all of his extended family sees this and mocks him.
As an airline pilot who frequently flies in the region (deadheading on many of the airlines you’d mentioned) the captain on this flight was very unprofessional. He did everything we’re taught not to do. Literally. Absolutely shameful.
As a former purser we dont lnow if thos was really the caltains reaction or the purser was making it up!
Unbelievable. I’ll be proudly avoiding Kuwait Airways from today on.
You would have regardless of this video.
I'd still hope fly them once at least for the plane - - The a330-800 is incredibly rare and they operate 4
@d3kingg387 i know right
@AirRBnpc not true, turkish airlines also has them not as rare as you might think.
Ditto
Whenever airlines try to do this bs, it almost never ends well for them.
They are Muslim airlines it never affects them. They don't care!
@Jamiepunk1 In what way being Muslim makes them invulnerable to lower NPS? All airlines in the world except for select few (notably, most American airlines) receive big state subsidies so in that way most airlines are cushioned. But Kuwait is especially exposed to bad reputation. Why? @Jamiepunk1what does them being Muslim have anything to do with this?!
Do you call French / American/ South African/ Brazilian airlines “ those Christian airlines”?!
@Jamiepunk1
Super dumb point and shows your weak knowledge, so what makes Etihad, Emirates (both of the UAE), which also is a Muslim nation yet they soar with record profits?
has nothing to do with that lol. You're coming into more strict regimes and then expecting you can shit on them like back home "FREEEDOM LAND" and surprised this shit happens? 😭
Can you try also shitting on North Korean airlines and then seeing if they'll be happy about it? They'll probably keep you and torture you for ever like that one American who got stuck in NK.
Moral is: Respect different places and how they operate. People who're saying "WOW, I'll avoid XYZ now" does nothing. 99% of the time, if you as a normal consumer use it it's all good. These "airline journalists" just farm clout
@naifalbaihed1230This issue that Dan had is not uncommon in the muslim world, specifically in Kuwait, Qatar and some more.
I wonder if airlines will ever realize that this sort of reaction is counter productive
They have a very outdated and old fashioned outlook on the world. I don’t think they realise the impact of social media will haven on their business, especially when a popular vlogger exposes their true behaviour and attitudes.
those cultures work differently, they have a completely different attitude towards transparency, freedom of expression and deference to authority
@Furudal Stone age primate mentality. That pretty much sums it up.
@FurudalAnd that’s why they’re bound to fail in developing a post-oil economy, much like they were sucking wind through the World Wars after Japanese cultured pearls destroyed their last great export.
Well the vast majority already do. That’s why this is the first time in recent history this happened to Dan.
Basically, Kuwait Airways is NOT SAFE to fly......
They use extortion, blackmailing ..... threatening passengers?
Never ever even fly this
This is such a PR nightmare for Kuwait Airways I can't believe how much damage one single employee is going to make to the airline as a whole wow
i have a huge feeling that there was a secret royalty member on board. Suspect is the female pax and the purser was covering her
It will probably cost millions in lost revenue as well.
@toobeezymost royal family members don’t care abt being recoded and the most important ones (the ones that don’t like to be recorded) have private jets that’s not the issue here
Two and more employees. 1) Purser 2) Captain 3+) Ground Staff
It should wake up sheeple -- you're not safe when you leave your home cuntry
If the Capt. is "very angry" he is compromising the safety of the flight and should get a psych. evaluation before he can operate another flight.
Great point!
The entire crew (sans the woman doing all the work)!
In the flying world we have an acronym IM SAFE. The E is for emotional state, and if you're extremely angry you should not be flying.
yeah I wouldn't fly on an airline piloted by psychopaths.
@kevinklassen4328what's the rest?
I will never fly Kuwait Airlines because of this video. Threatening passengers is terrifying. You are courageous for sharing your experience.
Exactly, and I am spreading the word!!!
Same here. Thats great the Kuwait Airlines makes them self known before booking a flight. Which I will never do.
Why would u want too????
One employee does not represent a whole airline ????
@bestclips71 multiple instances against Kuwait airways lol... and yes it does represent the airline when the CAPTAIN And airport geta involved lol
Please don’t EVER hand your phone over to anyone! 😮 even another passenger! You could have showed her while driving it yourself. You probably would have achieved most if not all of the disarming outcome.
Never EVER hand your unlocked phone over to anyone freely while travelling! 🙏
Don't drive your phone when flying
Purser created a situation by lying to the captain and also for involving another passenger due to his incompetence, He should absolutely lose his job for it.
I think this is it. It seems like the purser messed up by lying to the captain and making a big fuss. And now they've done considerable harm to the Kuwait Airlines brand. They should lose their job.
@MattGreenfield They should definitely address internally what happened and set boundaries for the flight staff.
Not just his job. He lied and his actions brought shame to the company and for the country.
The purser probably also lied to the lady on row 1. It isn’t hard to believe he said to her ”hey, that guy over there has been filming you” which naturally got her triggered.
The lady would have been paid off with a free extra meal, lol
This is an example of how a single employee can do irreparable and permanent harm to a brand.
But what is mind boggling is that Kuwait Airlines had a chance to apologize and make this better. They thought it was better to ignore it. Seems like they have no clue.
This was not just a single employee.
@nanoano14 Exactly. The CAPTAIN got involved, on the wrong side of truth. lol. Crazy.
It's amazing to read people cancelling their flight with Kuwait because of one review...
There's no hope for some people, seriously!
@darren2329 WRONG SIDE OF THE TRUTH? THIS REVIEWER GUY DISRESPECTED THERE CULTURE
If he gets banned from Kuwait airways he should include that statement in his introduction on every video like cahil does to qatar airways on his opening in every video. "Proudly banned from Kuwait airways" 🎉
Yesss!
Doesn’t hit as hard, nobody’s ever heard of Kuwait airways
@wewbie Saddam heard of Kuwait ;-)
@thilomanten8701the only wmd Dan has at this point is to copy Cahill 🤣
I doubt if Dan will ever fly them again after this.
When the pilot said "when we come to your country we respect your culture" had me rolling..
Only allowing pre approved propaganda reviews is disappointing & downright unacceptable from any reputable business. To actually threaten your customers is just a whole new level of bad
this is how their entire culture works
@FurudalIt’s the same across many businesses. Just ask computer parts reviewers. Apart from blackout days some block access to reviewers who do not post positive reviews to early access of products. Some demand editorial control as well. Some airlines are better than others.
There are no such rules. They are lying.
That's why we have Sam Chui on youtube!
Bye bye, going to Emirates instead!
dodged a bullet :)
Grow up
@Npc10010 you will one day
Emirates is wonderful! You'll have a lovely time, I am sure.
...and everybody stood up and clapped and cheered
"Fly Kuwait Airlines: 'We Can't Promise You Safety' "
What a beautiful slogan.
Was supposed to book with Kuwait Aiways, but after this video. I noped myself. Being threatened with one's safety is absolutely scary.
What I am gathering is that the purser is lazy, bad at his job and just a bad employee in general He lied and made up exaggerated stories about what Dan was doing to save his job. This purser is going to cost Kuwait Airways alot of money.
and a bully!
Most likely
Worse, the purser lied to the pilot.
@johnsim3722thats what i assumed since the pilot said that the youtuber was recording people and sensitive equipment.
He needs to be fired!
Dan make a formal complaint as I am sure everyone would love to hear a formal reply from Kuwait Airways.
For any reputable international company to make death threats is just sickening. KU have a new CEO I would try and also reach out to him to put this on his radar.
This would fall on deaf ears. Its not like the west.
They would not reply
Your friend works for them. He or she will back you for sure just like the rest of us
Kuwait is a country that begged for security- what makes you think they have enough intelligence to act 😂
The first thing you should have said is you want to contact your embassy.
The message is clear "Stay away from Kuwait Airways" As a frequent traveller, I don't want to be arrested for no apparent reason
MUSLIMS
@D-oq7lm great insert racist comment in here. Are you from USA? Do you know how badly people are being treated by USA customs at the moment?
Islam is a race??
“Children, be good, because if you won't, we'll fly Kuwait Airlines for our next vacation.”
Child starts crying
But daddy they have a playground back in the economy class
@Dcoagt12😂😂😂
But mommy, they serve junk food in first class and i like it
Haha 😂😂😂 I
If anyone goes around threatening their customers' safety, they probably shouldn't have a job in customer service.
It's... Kuwait. What on earth do you bougie westerners expect?
"We serve our customers a heaping portion of threats. YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?"
@RavenMobile Is that a threat. Then upload to kuwait airlines and they can probably use you.
the passenger was asked to stop doing something that is against their protocol. The passenger was out of order.
+1
I imagine the lady in row 1 was Kuwait Airways staff member on staff travel.
Yep. She was either an employee or the relative of an employee.
npcs kuwait airways is one of the best and safe airlines out there 🇰🇼🇰🇼 proudly a frequent flyer on kuwait airways 🇰🇼
@midnightgaming103 sure mate
I cancelled my Kuwait Airways flight and will never be flying with them again. 👎🏻 You should contact a lawyer and see if you cant file a lawsuit against the captain and crew that threatened your safety. I am glad you’re never flying that airline again!
Exactly, can't trust an airline that wants to censor reviews 🤷♂
@Nabee_H Are you surprised? There is no freedom of speech in the ME
Kuwait has something of a reputation for being insular and protecting its own. Forget it, Dan, it's Kuwait. Did ya see in the story where the "offended" woman was telling Dan how everybody knows everybody, they're all family, and she could help him avoid trouble with the police? Yeah... she was speaking true.
Bold move, Cotton!
Seems like a good idea mr Gasm.
I hope that dude loses his job. Nobody should be treated like this.
Also that he was making the female FA do all the work apparently and had zero customer service from the start.
He won't. Kuwait Airlines doesn't care about any influencer's bad review.
@CrabbyOldLady if they don’t care about the review of a person who has influence imagine someone like the rest of us who has zero influence…
@CrabbyOldLadyif that’s true then what’s the point of all the threats? Seems like they care TOO MUCH if anything.
@CrabbyOldLady If they didn't care they wouldn't threaten someone with a lawsuit for posting it. Clearly they do care.
Threatening a passenger...you should sue the airlines.
I will NEVER EVER fly this airline
Who knows what they told the capt to get him so worked up. Glad you were able to post your video
“Let the captain come back here and tell me why he’s upset”
@j.heilig7239Exactly! I have my doubts he was actually “worked up.”
"There is a passenger recording kuwaiti guests, he does not want to stop, one woman said she didnt not want to be in it but he recorded her as well"
That's all it takes really lol
I was gonna say, the purser definitely told some tales to get the captain that steamed up. Also, the female "passenger" he talked to was an employee 100%.
Take a note, Kuwait Airways. Your cabin crew's disastrous behavior can cost SO DEEPLY for your reputation
and bottom line! $$
I live in Kuwait and am Kuwaiti and never use Kuwait airways, One of the worst airlines in the gulf.
You’re not a true kuwaiti, kuwait airways are the nicest flight, they offer direct flights, nice meals, seat rooms, and nice staff also not much of air bumps.
@NightFallKing7 Oh hey the purser just showed up to post. lol
@NightFallKing7 does the playground with all the kids playing together come complimentary or you have to pay extra for it? 🙃
Honestly as much as I feel embarrassed of this video but Kuwait airways is becoming one of the best. In the past it wasn’t great but now it’s one of the best
@gianmariamalmesi4133if you can even pay
I'm sure the purser lied to the Captain and the female passenger to get them riled up. Crazy how only 1 person could damage the image of an airline, country, and maybe an entire region. I'm glad the police were chill. I also appreciate the disclaimer @ 24:28
I don't think it's a 1 person situation. Their HR and admin department needs to be questioned too
I think that's the case as well.
I bet the woman passenger was probably a staff member travelling on staff travel.
Makes no sense. My theory is the passenger was behind this whole charade because she did not want to be seen on a flight from Thailand.
@buridah328 Except the purser started this nonsense before the first passenger was on board.
Yeah my theory is he knew she spoke English and asked her to come explain to an American why it wasn't ok to record people in Kuwait
Maybe she was secret staff. Why would she also endorse the airline during her interaction and ask him what he thinks? A regular passenger would not call the airline a family.
That was my thought as well, that she was lied to by the purser
That crew should be fired and threatening a passenger is bullying and scary. Absolutely unacceptable
It is an airline from an aloo snack bar nation. That's never gonna happen.
HE DISRESPECTED THEY'RE CULTURE
@cosmo9208 He did not. The slims are steeped in 7th century draconian ideology. It has no place in 21st century, advanced societies.
@cosmo9208 Who is culture?
@chrismay3241 KUWAITI'S CULTURE. READ THE TITLE DUMASS
And also it doesn’t mean Kuwaitis behave like that or all crew members have such attitude
They are right to review the attitude of the staff and upgrade the quality it’s part of their liability as managing directors of the airline
wouldnt be surprised if the crew is now out of the job
at.nisa15 If you're not kuwaiti, you might be suprised by how many people don't do their jobs lol
I fell sorry for you as you seem like a decent person. I've worked all over the middle east including Kuwait, currently in KSA. The attitude of most of your citizens is awful, I would never work there again.
@glynnepritchard2526
Just out of curiosity
What did you work as
Unfortunately there are certain jobs and/or nationalities that certain Kuwait’s too down upon and miss treat.
There was Your mistake right there taking Sam Chui's advice...
In my opinion
@roberthamilton1301 Sam Chui is an unreliable source.
Sam 'The Professional Shill' Chui is the last person I would trust to review anything.
Sam Chui is known for just giving good reviews for money.
But Kuwait airlines are like family how could it have been a bad experience.
It won't help. The Middle East is full of unexpected issues best avoided if possible - complaints never result in decisions in your favour, never.
Exactly. In what world is it acceptable to treat first class passengers like that? The unprofessionalism and arrogance were beyond unacceptable.
I'm really not sure what making "an official compliant" in a country like Kuwait would achieve.
@twiggy99 It's a business that depends upon their reputation. If they care at all they would respond to any complaint like this.
"When we come to Europe, we respect the people and the rules."
I had to process that for a moment.
Me too !
😊 Right? The UK would like to have a chat in particular but really, the entire West
No they don’t
@solsticebaby The casual racism overriding any important conversation to be had is a classic. this is why the UK is a failed state btw
On Emirates the flight attendants are literally doing selfies at the bar area with people all the time. I cant believe how crazy this story got.
Hey, absolutely correct! Emirates cabin crew are great-whether out of Dubai or KL-but tbh KLM out of Dubai are the best wrt to how they interact with infants/young kids-female KLM cabin crew seem to adore junior passengers.
As a woman who travels frequently alone I wouldn’t dare set foot on Kuwait Airlines after hearing the problems you had……
Avoid any kind of Muslim country if you're a woman who likes freedom.
@issa-__ Because a bully purser from a Middle Eastern airway might feel that he could bully women more? Guess that's outside of the realm of possibility?
I feel you. We'll never know what will happen to us if they 'think' we broke the rules....horrible.
Wow - you took a risk giving them your phone. In some countries they would just confiscate it and you would lose all access to your own evidence.
Was thinking this also
You mean like America . They take phones and go through it
@Novasquad77 Yes.
Also, playing the cultural respect card is utterly diabolical.
I will not be flying KA anytime soon, and will ensure my audience does not either, thanks Dan
Boohoooo we’re sad you wont be flying our airlines 😂 who cares
@Moonziesway Nice attitude, if you work with KW then it suits you - butthole
Its just cabin crew not the whole airline
@4ife518😂😂😂the pitiful 2 subs staring up at me XD
I always used Kuwait airlines and I love them for their service ❤
It’s ironic because most Kuwaiti men go to Bangkok for one reason only…I wonder how much they respect their “culture” on those trips.
Theyre into Lady Boys! lol
@JohnJacob33 That's extremely haram though
@JohnJacob33 Some, but mostly kids.
"If you don't respect your own culture --- why should I?" (Oxxxymiron vs. Dizaster - King of the Dot)
the rich from there certainly fly all over the world to ditch the restrictions of their culture, while the poor get punished.
I will never fly Kuwait again even if it was cheap
they treat non muslims like theyre dirt.
The papers falling after hearing that text cost sent me!!!!
As a Kuwaiti I never fly on Kuwait airways. thanks for calling them out, you just gained a new subscriber.
it reminds me of that great quote: "i guarantee freedom of speech, but I cannot guarantee freedom after speech"
Don't ever hand over your phone to anyone! You can hold your phone and show images/videos but don't ever let go of your phone.
What if CBP demand you unlock it and give it to them when you are entering the US?
@oliver8296 Gosh, so sorry, I've forgotten the unlock code.
@oliver8296that’s a big difference from him handing it to the other passenger.
@jimthesoundman8641 "Gosh, so sorry, we've forgotten how to let you into the country."
@oliver8296 You have a right to refuse.
Sounds like they’re a never-fly for me. I can’t even imagine how awful it would have been for me as a woman to try and do this, and how terrifying.
What a spectacular fuck-up 😂
He said, "I know how to get him to a million subs, lemme go ahead and pull some theatrical stunts." 😂
This is the type of cost that money can't buy, it's not only about the hard revenue lost.
the constant “brother“ from the flight attendant is the most unprofessional part
More like you’re racist. And things are getting lost in translation here and it’s not helping.
"unprofessional"? Yes! "THE MOST unprofessional"? No! - The most unprofessional = threats against your safety. Thank you for standing up to a bully...; subscribed!
Saying brother in a Muslim nation is not the same as saying “bro” in the west. Totally fine. Saying brother is almost the same as saying “sir”
This is how they talk in their culture... it is respectful to them
This is a normal term of address in Arab countries, it's not disrespectful.
Welp, that’s one airline for me to avoid. Sorry to hear you had to endure that. And thanks for the informative review.
It’s very obvious that he was afraid you would expose his slacking.
You know it’s serious when a video starts with a disclaimer.
Their reaction to the filming convinced me to never fly Kuwaiti way more than any scathing review ever could
I would refuse the threat. I'll call my consolate.
Next thing they’ll probably call in Sam Chui for a cheerleading video 😂
An easily avoidable PR disaster, shame on Kuwait Airways. Keep up the great work Dan.
If they don't apologize to you, I will never fly with them ever again. (I spent a lot of money flying with them)
You have no legal obligation to talk to ANYONE but cops once on the ground. Very abusive airline.
And they ALL lied to you. Not a good sign culturally.
Wow they did this to a first class passenger, i wonder how they treat economy passengers.
Given that they probably ignore you for the entire duration of the flight, I would say better.
...apparently they inflict you with children running around, like a nursery.
In arab countries, if you don't have a tea towel around your head, you're no better than dog shit.
maybe they read his name and translated it to something like "stop dan" and did as they should
They play with children in economy, according to that female passenger.
Euh… 😮😮😮?!?!?
Kuwait Airways…now joining the ranks of the world’s worst airlines.
"when we go to your culture, we respect your rules, we respect your laws" BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA SINCE WHEN
exactly what I was thinking lmao
Scary people, scary mindset. No thanks.
You have made a very good case for every sensible person in the World to BOYCOTT KUWAIT AIRWAYS - Thank you for the RISKS that you took, may it serve as warning to give KUWAIT a very wide berth!! John
@bindatek8801 Remark is absurd exaggeration. Storm in a teacup.
@cosimo7770 I think being approached by 3 police officers is not a teacup.
The Purser is a moron and so is the Captain. Kuwait Airlines will suffer greatly from this. What a despicable bunch.
I can't believe Kuwait Airways hasn't reached out to contact you yet.
When I google the airline now it shows their booking website and your videos lol
Glad you’re ok, Dan. Note to self: NEVER fly on Kuwait Airways.
Stop hating on Kuwait airways just because one flight attendant was unprofessional
@Alahm_25 nobody hating on anyone, just don't feels like spending my money on kuwaiti airways ever. that's all.
@Alahm_25 one flight attendant... seriously? What about the captain? The managers? Clearly the rot goes deeper than one person
21:43 I don’t wonder why you chose not to delete the videos at that point. That was very smart, because that was the only evidence left that you had NOT recorded other people extensively or without permission. The videos were actually your best defense.
The Kuwaiti woman was a corporate mouthpiece.
Have you said "brother"? Anyone who calls you "brother" during a formal conversation is not worth your time.
we Arabs have some generosity we don't speak formally we talk like people are close relatives.
And that is what bullying looks like. So glad that you stood your ground. So glad the police were sensible. And, now we know about Kuwait Airways ... to think that we would have otherwise only known they had great affordable first class ... 🙏
Great looking first class but not worth the risk of getting set up to go to prison for
@stephenhibbert3835 Kuwait airways staff are non-kuwaitis.
Threatening First Class passengers? Good luck with that superpower, Kuwait Airways!
Purser addressing a first-class passenger by “brother” is major red flag already.
In middle east we use the term [brother] as a sign of respect
@mrrq8946that makes since. But the irony of the purser telling him about respecting culture while not realizing that is not typically respectful in western countries.
Kuwait Airways sounds like the Karen of the sky. What a scary and horrible experience!
As a Kuwaiti I hate when Kuwaitis say “we Kuwaitis” no don’t speak for me.
اهي تكلمت بشكل عام وفعلا بثقافتنا ما نرضي احد يصورنا وين الغلط و واضح انها تضايقت من تصويره
@alfchuah bad Muslims do that, yeah.
Thank you for standing up to the bullying and harassment. ✈✈🙏🙏🙏💐💖
being treated like a criminal despite doing nothing wrong is the worst feeling in the world
Kuwait Airways new branding: “No guarantee on service or safety on the ground, Full guarantee on threats.”
Airlines in general are charging too much for this behaviour. They need to humble themselves.
As a student airline pilot, there is no rules about filming regarding flight safety and video recordings, this is probably a SOP of the campagny.
Yes..
No that's how they treat people not just in the airlines
Dan's experience doesn't jive with your own and he was in first class.
@zaidmeazer3617 My experience as a minority is that your economic status is by far the greatest difference in how people are perceived and treated.
Imagine being in first class and this happening to you
Zero chance anyone watching this will ever fly the airline. Why do they have to be like this? What do they expect will happen?
