      @ddrse 9 months ago +7

      The people who did this to you are definitely known. It will be interesting to see how they deal with Society now that everything is public. We don't live in the same world we did a few years ago. It's the consumer that runs the show now.

    • @geneard639
      @geneard639 9 months ago +12

      @gluecksdrache2054 You've confused culture with perceptions. A person was threatened, plain and simple. Stating its a 'cultural thing' is an over simplification of a complex issue. Having worked in Military Aviation as both a member an aerospace worker and having traveled the world.... what Dan has encountered is sadly normal with a few airlines. Kuwait, Egypt, North Korea are places I would not travel 'hard stop' because its known to be chaotic at best and dystopian and Kafkaesque as 'the usual' and deadly at worst.

      Absolutely. They are the big losers. But I believe in redemption. If they had the integrity to match their bravura, they would send an unconditional apology to Dan. But human nature is such that only a small fragment of humanity does the right thing.

    A single employee can indeed do permanent harm to a brand - The long list of people mentioning that they will never fly with this airline due to fear, and also many viewers with immediate cancellations after hearing your scary experience, is stellar proof of this effect.

    • @terro3842
      @terro3842 9 months ago +40

      @Jamiepunk1 In what way being Muslim makes them invulnerable to lower NPS? All airlines in the world except for select few (notably, most American airlines) receive big state subsidies so in that way most airlines are cushioned. But Kuwait is especially exposed to bad reputation. Why? Well because it operates in the geographical hub that has a fierce competition and three much larger players (Qatar, Emirates, Etihad) that have better fleet, greater route variety. What can Kuwait offer to outperform on key selection criteria? Probably customer service and exceptional treatment of clientele would be one thing, but now they're taking a hit here. Big hit.

    • @naifalbaihed1230
      @naifalbaihed1230 9 months ago +26

      @Jamiepunk1what does them being Muslim have anything to do with this?!
      Do you call French / American/ South African/ Brazilian airlines “ those Christian airlines”?!

    • @hariranormal5584
      @hariranormal5584 9 months ago

      @Jamiepunk1
      Super dumb point and shows your weak knowledge, so what makes Etihad, Emirates (both of the UAE), which also is a Muslim nation yet they soar with record profits?
      has nothing to do with that lol. You're coming into more strict regimes and then expecting you can shit on them like back home "FREEEDOM LAND" and surprised this shit happens? 😭
      Can you try also shitting on North Korean airlines and then seeing if they'll be happy about it? They'll probably keep you and torture you for ever like that one American who got stuck in NK.
      Moral is: Respect different places and how they operate. People who're saying "WOW, I'll avoid XYZ now" does nothing. 99% of the time, if you as a normal consumer use it it's all good. These "airline journalists" just farm clout

      I think that's the case as well. With that said, the pilot should have the common sense to not take a colleagues word on anything. There's a reason why they're the captain of that vessel. It's a common problem within most professions. People will most likely always side with colleagues. There use to be an old saying for this, but it's not used anymore due to it being used for racist purposes later on. Don't touch a tar baby. In other words, the consequential actions of another person can stick to you. You would think more people would have common sense concerning this stuff, but clearly they don't. Sometimes it requires a harsh lesson before they learn. Let your colleagues deal with their own problems. Don't get involved.

    I am a frequent flyer and I fly many airlines all around the world. I flew Kuwait Airways for the first time in Jun-2023 from London to Kuwait City in a 777-300. The reason I flew this airline was because of a behind-the-curtain video uploaded by Sam Chui showing the efforts made by the said airline. Long story short, my Kuwait Airways flight was by far the worst experience to this day. I paid for the wifi but it didn't work, and they didn't even refund. Cabin crew members were not polite. The list goes on. Never flying with them again.

    I had a bad experience flying with Kuwait Airways. They treat people differently based on race and nationality. If you're from Europe or the U.S., they’re nice, but if you're from a poorer country or a person of color, they act like you're not important. It didn’t feel right at all. I’m not sure if it’s the airline or the whole country, but either way, I’ll never fly with them again. Qatar Airways and Emirates have always been way better in my experience.

       I understand your point, but I don’t think the class you’re flying in should determine how you’re treated. Economy isn’t free-people pay for that just like any other class. Also, my experience wasn’t just on the plane-it included how security and staff at the airport treated me. And for the record, I’ve flown business class with Kuwait Airways too, and the attitude was still there. When I flew with Qatar Airways and Emirates, I was treated with respect regardless of my background or ticket class. That’s the kind of standard I expect when I travel.😊
