Haha they both had some really cute aspects. I thought the love interests were very sweet. But yeah maybe not the best choice for me as a reader 😂 also, the writing in both of them was pretty good. I’m just too vanilla for the monsters 😅
You literally chose the most abstract/weird monster romances. There are so many others that I feel like you would have had an easier time with because they are more mainstream and they are pretty much straight romances but with the added quirk of “monsters” but their monster parts and forms are kinda optional because they have human forms - or they are way more humanistic but with maybe some tentacles, or like snake tongues so they are basically humans with a couple monsterous features and they have waaaay more plot. Don’t get me wrong they are very smutty, but they aren’t straight up erotica they have actual plots and subplots. You went allllllllll the way in with these options lmao
🐮😂 great video! It'd be cool if you did more stereotypical ones for this Halloween. Like vampires, werewolf, ..... ghost?? Also some reptiles have retractable hemipenis so accurate 😂
Weirdly, I can't really get into M/F monster smut, but M/M monster smut is delicious. If you 're willing to try again, I recommend Soul Eater by Lily Mayne. Her entire Monstrous series is worth reading, and the best out there right now.
Yes! The monstrous series is phenominal. She also just wrote a m/f book that I'm actually really excited to get into. I also usually dont like m/f monster romance as much, but I feel like Lily Mayne might do it justice
I am extremely familiar with cryptids, monsters, fantasy creatures, legends and lore beasties. When it comes to romanticizing them this is incredibly normal to me as we as a species have been so fascinated and aroused by subhuman creatures from the beginning, and the more human they appear the more erotic the tales become or romantic. I would love to see in future romance novels or erotica for people to push themselves past the human looking beings. It is so easy to fall in love with the mermaid, the vampire, the werewolf, the demon, but like fall in love with a genuinely ugly troll goblin one who is surly but deep down has a soft heart. Like even Beast from the Disney movie is too handsome for being a beast. I never hear anyone talking about this but there’s a book called Beast where the prince is turned into an actual lion and it’s honestly the most complex poignant love story that everyone should read. Honestly would also love to see a story about someone genuinely falling in love with the Mothman. 😅
the minotaur book is part of a companion series and the second book is about a mothman. It's called Sweet Berries by CM Nascosta if you want to read it
My book club read I Married a Lizardman for the Lolz, but then when we got together, everyone was like, "Actually..this wasn't really as wild and awful as expected..."
