  • Welcome to Khiva, Uzbekistan! A must visit city in Uzbekistan. A vibrant and stunning old city guarded with walls that make you feel like you are in Agrabah! (And I've never been anywhere that resembles it so as much as Khiva!)
🚨In this first part of a two part mini-series within a series on Khiva, I give you my first impressions of this magnificent and magical place. Taking you through the narrow sandy streets with fabric stores and souvenir shops lined along each path to add colour to an otherwise sandy city.
It is no wonder Uzbekistan is the country of Colour!
🛎🛌 I stayed at the Muhammed Aminkhan Madrassa 1855, Orient Star Hotel:
    www.booking.com/hotel/uz/orie...
This hotel is an old madrassa that has been converted into a luxury hotel situated by the main old city gates and the most famous building in Khiva, the big blue Minaret (at least that's what I call it). And I think I only paid around £45 per night! It was well worth it and I would highly recommend staying there.
However, it is worth noting, that you can stay anywhere in the old city and it is very accessible. You have to walk anyway because there are no cars allowed in the old city!
As well as immersing myself in the architecture and culture, I immerse myself in the looks of Uzbekistan and I will take you through my shopping spree and browsing to find the perfect traditional Uzbek hat so that I may feel like a Disney Prince in this magical city! 🤴🏻🧞‍♂️
And no Prince would be a Prince without a royal banquet! And so feast indeed I did, trying different foods and eating at local restaurants here in Khiva.
Overall, Khiva really suprised me and was one my favourite places I have been in Central Asia and I would encourage everyone to watch this video and come here for yourself because the atmosphere and effort they have gone to, to accomdate tourists is great.
    Welcome to Khiva.

I think most people go to Bukhara as khiva is further and Bukhara is more famous. But I really liked khiva. If you can you should visit both! But if you are on a short trip go to Bukhara because its closer
