Hello sparkle lizard. This just popped up and I had to watch. So glad it’s coming together. I really like the pack you are using this time. Great features. I was surprised when you brought out the little pouch I made you. Thanks for including it and the mention. Glad you can use it. I too will be on trail in July starting in Crater Lake. We should stay in touch and coordinate. Could maybe help with some transport. Cheers
Very much looking forward to seeing your videos again, Owen! And thanks to your last gear video I got an AtomPack The Mo and I could not have been happier with that choice, carries like a charm, even during long water carries. Also the Nalgene bottle - after a couple of cold nights on the PCT a few people I told about the warm water bottle in sleeping bag trick followed suit and also bought themselves one 😊 Sometimes being ultra light turns into stupid light and these little tips can make a long hike much more pleasant!
Reading the comments it appears there are people who are willing to help with your trek once you are in Oregon and I’m one of them! Enjoyed following your last PCT travels and current preparations! My offer to pick you up at PIA and get you to the trail near Crater still is good……..
Love a gear video and interesting how your choices change for section hiking in the summer. Food bag? Did you say in 22 you had a S2S 20litre dry bag and will it be same this time or do you need a bear can? Good luck with the rest of training and prep 🙂👍
Hi Owen - when are you going to get to Oregon and how are you getting to Roseburg? Do you need a place to stay the night before you start? I can offer you a couch at our house then a ride to the trailhead.
Hi LQ, looking forward to watching your trip. How do you transport your backpack and poles when you fly? I hate putting mine in the hold, I wrap it in cling film.
Just get an old suitcase from a place like Goodwill, put in your bulky and pointy stuff, like trecking poles and take your backpack as carry on. Then donate the suitcase again in the USA and repeat on return trip. Makes especially sense if you have a custom backpack like an AtomPack that you can‘t replace easily.

Howdy sir! Yes it’s a cool little bag, thanks 🤩
We will probs see each other? I’m hopefully starting at Diamond Lake Highway 2 or 3rd July 🤔
It’s great to hear that you’ll be back on the trail to tie it all together and complete your hike. I look forward to following your adventure!
Thanks Meg. Back on trail in July!

Nice! Completely agree, you’ve got to make a few weight sacrifices to make things easier on yourself 🤩
I'll be watching again Ov. X
Woop!! Thanks pal x

Thanks Curtis! That would be great and I would like to take you up on that please?

Yes a sea to summit dry bag last time. I’m hoping to get a Hilltop food bag this year but it’s low down the list of costs for the summer 🤔

Hi Sandra thanks so much! That would be amazing thanks 🤩
Not sure how I’m getting to Portland yet, possibly fly, maybe hire a car 🤔
Hey, how did you get the avocado pockets, i read on their site that they only do one in the custom version......did you beg 🙂
It is the custom version! I got the two avocados pockets and only one of the shoulder strap pockets as I I like to hang my go pro off the other 🤩

@@ivofriedburg294 great idea! I always dread putting my pack in the hold, price of the pack, tent, sleep system and poles is huge.
I actually bought an Ikea duffel from eBay and put my whole pack in that.
