'You’re never supposed to hurt a woman': Son grieves mother killed in domestic violence incident

- Surrounded by supporters during a vigil Thursday night, Lawrence Lejon-Jurnett stood in front of his late mother’s home grieving the woman he said was always there for others.
“My momma been fighting for her life for a long time,” he told the crowd of 41-year-old Tomitka Stewart.
Lejon-Jurenett told TMJ4’s Tahleel Mohieldin that his family grew alarmed when Tomitka didn’t return home Sunday or answer their phone calls.
“I shouldn’t get the call from my little sister saying ‘You know where mom's at?” He said.
The 22-year-old said he then did something he never thought he would have to. He went to the police station to fill out a missing person report.
On Wednesday morning the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) asked the public for help locating the critically missing woman. Two hours later she was found dead in the trunk of a car near N. 29th St and W Ruby Ave.

I commend a young man for stepping up but that is not his job that is the job of his mother and all the other guys that knocked her up to make those kids. More than likely her lifestyle the way she was living got her killed. I don't mean to be harsh but too many of our kids are having to step up and play mom and dad when the grown-ups are being irresponsible nine kids come on where are the dads at? It's the same old stuff with the black community the hamster wheel mentality everybody comes out and support after someone dies sending up the stupid balloons but the real support that is needed is to discourage or correct and admonish our friends and families not to engage in certain behaviors that lead to this type of stuff. Rest in peace peace and blessings everybody have a good weekend.

OMG please let her soul lay to rest. Do they know how she died? I know they believe it was someone she knows but did they suffocate her? If so, that is so horrible. Did she have a restraining? If so child sometimes those restraining orders be setting these men off even more.
