Marami ng nagtatanim using hydroponics system dito sa pinas noon pa pero karamihan ay outdoor. I myself is doing hydroponics farming noon pa hanggang ngayon small scale nga lang. Yan ang system na gamit ko pero outdoor sya sa paggrow ng different varieties of lettuces, pechay, bochoi, ampalaya, zucchini, cucumber, eggplant, bell pepper and tomatoes for personal & family consumption lang. Successfull sya pero ang kalaban lang ng outdoor hydroponics ay yun init during summer at yun mga pest insects tulad ng aphids, white flies, mealybugs and ants. Pero sakin managed ko naman yun mga peste at nakokontrol ko without using pesticides at all. Maganda sana yun indoor tulad ng sa video makokontrol mo yun temperature ng environment ng tanim at wala syadong peste kaya lang magastos sa koryente lalo na if you are growing for personal consumption lang at hindi for business kasi di mo mababawi yun gastos sa koryente.

Ang system niya is best for leafy shallow height greens pag vertical ang system niya which is most leafy greens. The media will depend. Commonly you can use cocopeat (coconut fiber), or rockwool. You would still need nutrients. It's not just plain water. Dapat e filter ang tubig mo, control the pH, EC (Electric Conductivity), and nutrients. Please use good PVC tube plastics. If they're bad quality, residual plastic can be in the water and be poisonous. Possible diseases are root related and some pests, aphids, loopers, caterpillars, etc. Avoid algae build up. Algae attracts pests and disease. Mas maayos pag flood type to promote aeration sa roots. Roots shouldn't always be under water. You can use a timer to flood the roots. Put a fan for aeration. Finally, not all plants require lights for the entire day. If you start at 7am, you can turn it off around 3pm. I hope this helps for any future DIY's. :)
