Most pipe tobacco is generally cheap you don’t have to smoke captain black grape to appreciate the finer things in life. You don’t have to try to hard to “be a man” just go to work and come home in a good mood and take care of your kids. The reason some tobacco is more expensive is because it’s discontinued or hard to find, smoke what you like.
I was brought up in a poor, isolated mountain village with no electricity or running water. I served as an infantry officer in a combat unit, often went hungry while working my way to a PhD in archaeology, and have excavated for decades in some of the most inhospitable and dangerous environments on earth. I have direct experience of real poverty, and a broad historical perspective of the hardships of daily life for people in the distant (and the proximate) past. The grim struggle for survival that nearly all of humanity endured throughout history still faces most of the world to this day. I agree on your comments on how soft and spoiled we in the “developed world” have become. Many of us complain incessantly about everything under the sun while we luxuriate in glistening affluence and unbelievable plenty; we are surrounded by comforts and amenities recently unimaginable to previous generations, and of course, to most of humanity even today. I somewhat agree on the tobacco; there are some very good quality tobaccos that can be had for an economical price compared with many that are outrageously expensive but rather cheap to produce. But quite often, with pipe tobacco as with most other things, you generally get what you pay for (the outrageous tobacco taxes excluded!). I disagree on the pipes: unless they happen to be good ‘estates’ acquired at a bargain price, new, cheaply made, budget priced pipes are nearly always crap; those shellacked ‘drugstore’ or corner shop varieties selling for $10-$20 will burn hot as hell, give you awful tongue-bite, and make even excellent tobacco taste like sour tar. Cheap pipes have turned more people off pipe smoking than graphic health warnings and government tariffs combined. This said, some reasonably priced briar “basket pipes” or the odd corncob or clay can still provide a decent smoke. One doesn’t need all the fancy pipe smoking accoutrements (they’re nice to collect but certainly not indispensable). I’ve been a confirmed pipe smoker for well-nigh eight decades (since The War - yes, that one). Trust me on this: always buy a good quality pipe - the best you can comfortably afford - and decent tobacco. Providing you take reasonably good care of it, a fine pipe will amply reward you for the expense of its purchase with a good smoking experience each time for years to come. Many thanks for the interesting video.
I would pay to read what you've seen and experienced. Dexterously put and I hate that much of our living history is fading away disrespected by our culture. We stand on the shoulders of giants. Some shorter than others. Congratulations on making it out of that war, the world is here for it. Many did not, and it's a shame. My entire pipe "career" if you'd call it that began because while I fawned over much nicer pipes, I could at least afford a basket pipe and a tin of fine tobacco. Once the training wheels broke off and I could keep a pipe lit long enough to properly enjoy it I knew it was something I'd been stuck with for life, or until I run out of tobacco. Now I have at least one "good" pipe, a small collection of very nice tobacco and some technique, it's something that is peace and joy only a light away.
@@RolandsDad - Thanks for the kind response. I agree on all counts. Each generation leaves its own mark but always within the context of the world it inherits. - Yes, building up a nice collection of pipes and tobacco is one of the more alluring aspects of piping. I wish you continued pleasure in your pipe smoking adventures. Greetings from Greece!
I totally agree. The only “premium” pipes I own are ones I’ve acquired on EBay. My best smoker is a no name pipe that I bought at an antique store for $10.00. Right now I’m smoking Sir Waler Raleigh and Prince Albert. I grew weary of chasing the multitude of tobacco types and flavors. I now smoke what my grandpa did am I’m loving it!!!
I don't disagree on the tobacco (for the most part), on the pipes I 100% disagree. In your examples, you're talking about 50-60 years ago. People weren't buying "cheap" pipes back then. They were buying well-made goods. Well-made goods, especially back then, were not cheap. Further, those same pipes STILL hold value in the present. While I get where you're coming from, this focus on "lowering expectations" is a sure-fire way to destroy beauty. Dumbing down your palette or intentionally training yourself to prefer cheaper tobaccos, makes the art inherent in good pipes or good tobacco completely meaningless. High quality comes at a cost. Buying something cheap BECAUSE it is cheap is actually very counter to what previous generations did. They found good, well-made things, paid the price for it, and kept it for decades. I think your idea is in the right ballpark, but it is being wholesale misapplied.
The reason heirloom items from back then are still around and still hold value is because they were high(er) quality. Specifically with pipes, clay pipes and corncobs were made by the millions and designed to be thrown away at the end of their useful life, they get filtered out by time leaving mostly higher end examples left. Un-aged cheap tobacco now is likely as good if not better than un-aged expensive tobacco of yesterday because we've constantly been improving plant genetics and process control. There's much less variance between low and high end now because so much of production is automated and computer controlled. Until you get into bespoke items at the ultra-luxury tier, cheap and expensive things are often made with the same basic processes, the expensive ones just might start with a slightly better grade of material and get a bit more fit and finish by hand. Often you're just paying for an exclusive brand that's no better than a mid-range equivalent.
@@treelineresearch3387 I've found that even silly things from about 50-60 years back are made with better bones in general (if they were of somewhat quality to begin with). I saved old boards from a bed from the 40's because the grain was picture perfect for just the supports, not even the face pieces, and I've had them in my stock for such reason. Modern timber is cut too soon and grown in rushed conditions just to slap the stuff together. This 70 year old cedar is better than my cherry I bought this year. Per the point of the video; I've really come to view it as a man who's come to realize he's got to man up and all the reasons why. A lot of us have been shouting this sort of thing from the rooftops and forums and get told we're dumb, toxically masculine or otherwise unwanted for the future. He's seeing a change in tide that's dangerous, as many of us are and hasn't, I presume, had to know what it's like to turn in cans for food or know how tough life can truly be. So saying "lower your taste for a day to appreciate what is good" might be his form of cope instead of proper growth. Anyone taking that advice is already weak and being fooled into a false sense of growth. Notice he doesn't self reflect but tells. I find that a caution, personally. One who hasn't had mileage directing people on how to grow is a fool, or, it glows like Chernobyl and it's a total honeypot to poison would be younger men wanting a way out of this hellscape and direction.
I started smoking on a briar pipe and wasn't all that into it. I got back into pipe smoking with a good meerschaum pipe and it is a complete game changer. Pipe stays cool the whole time I smoke it and it apparently while change to a darker color down the road.
@@zachrat9083 That is fair. I love meerschaum pipes. Those are designed to be disposable, though. Smoke what you enjoy. That was my entire point. You're not smoking it because it's cheaper than briar (or at least you didn't allude that), you're smoking it because it's a better experience for you.
Keep doing what you love, and don't let others' comments sway you either way. The lighter rant was funny. I use a zippo for pipe and cigars and everything else. I like it. It's reliable it works every time. Is it the best? Who knows but it's the best for me.
I get your point, but cheap tobacco is not undeniably better. Of course, there are diminishing returns, but spending a bit more gets you a vastly improved experience. This is more true with tobacco than with pipes.
I'm with you on this one. While I don't disagree with the point he made per se, trying to draw the line from intentionally buying "cheap" tobacco to being a man and doing the difficult things even if they make me uncomfortable just completely missed the mark.
Aaaannnndddd you do NOT, in fact, get the point. He never said that it was better. He said that it was a small austerity that could be done to create a situation in which to better appreciate the times that you DO allow ourself the finer things. Now, the whole Tyler Durdan ramble at the end might have been a little much, but I DO think that you missed the point of what the man was saying.
My tobacco is the cheapest and (usually) the best... it grows in my yard and costs not a dime. It has no ridiculous toppings or flavorings. The flavor comes entirely from the tobacco varietal and how I cured it, and it's pretty damn good.
Right on man, I order whole leaf online. People are out there smoking glycerin and flavor chemicals. It's not what people smoked 100 years ago, it's a sham
@@bencarros7700 and all those flavorings barely come through when you're the one smoking it, only "room note". I'll take pure tobacco, with no insecticides, and learn to tease out the distinct flavors of each varietal.
You are buying “store brand” tobacco for $5 an ounce that is likely rebranded Sutliff bulks that can be had for $2 an ounce. That doesn’t make you smart or strong. It really just makes you a hipster.
I use snus (bassiacly dip) and I always choose the cheaper version, it has a real tobacco taste and when i started researching i found out it was also one of the best ones out there regarding health, very little chemicals used when growing.
Agree 100% with all of that. Right now this moment I am enjoying some Sir Walter Raleigh Original in a Savinelli Bing's Favorite Smooth that my wife got for me. Yep, we copied you guys; Thanks for the tip. After lots of fancier blends, old codger blends are increasingly my favourites. Keep up the good work. Blessings to you and your family.
Savinelli Bing is a $100+ pipe. The video has the right idea, but it is not applied correctly. The beauty of that pipe (which I own as well) is more than just the price tag - it's the craftsmanship and the artistry that culminates in it. Strictly saying "buying cheap will make things better" is such a red herring and inherently destroys the beauty of the craft itself. I'm not saying have a dozen expensive pipes, but a couple that will last decades allow you to enjoy the art AND appreciate the good in your life simultaneously. While I agree that the better tobaccos are cheaper, I am not sure they are "cheap" tobaccos.
@@dominicishmael You make a good point. Most of my pipes are corn cobs, and I used them for years, until they started to fall apart, but now I don't use them any more. I eventually, reluctantly admitted to myself that Briar pipes would probably be better in the long term. I use the Savinelli a lot. For me just a better experience. Well it should be at the much higher price. I would still recommend a corn cob as the very first pipe for a beginner. Then as a second pipe a cheaper factory made briar pipe manufactured in France or Italy, like Brigham, Rossi or Ropp. You can get those from around 40 to 50 USD. Fantastic value. Should last a very long time. Maybe a Dr Grabow might be good, though I have not tried one. I personally could never imagine getting a pipe over 150 USD, because factory made pipes are so good from Italy and France in the 50 USD to 150 USD price range.
Sir Piligrim, I am understand your statement. But if you call your video - why cheap tobacco better, please , explain it. A little essay about soft people is interesting, yes. But why don't spend at least 3 minutes, after main idea, to tobacco?
This is one of your best videos ever. Another reason the cheaper tobaccos are best is they are mostly pure tobacco. One can taste pure burley. Pure Virginias. Tobaccos that has not been altered. I can purchase simple codger tobacco for less than $1 per ounce still. So many have been fooled by the companies creating "Short Batches" that are over priced and over rated. I do appreciate the better pipes. Cheap pipes are just that Cheap. I also agree with you that in 2022 we are living in much better times than in the 50s 60s & 70s. Problem is many are too young to know it and listen to the shit show going on today. Thank You for the video.
There's a lot of easy marketing terms that still exist because they still fool people. "Small batch" is one of them. So small I can get a tin any day I walk in the store.... Yes I get that "batch" was small, but the principle is wasted. We should apply years to the tins like wine then.
I always keep in mind that we're living better than the royalty of the past. It really keeps things in perspective. Regarding cheap tobacco I know what you're saying but I don't smoke a pipe, I smoke cigars. And as I don't smoke often, I love being able to smoke a fine, aged and well-kept cigar made with delicious high-quality tobacco. An excellent cigar is the same level of excellence whether you're a working class man or an eccentric billionaire. A bad cigar is often not worth the hour spent with it. Whether that's because I've spoiled my palate with nicer ones (which are not expensive these days, unless you have to pay UK prices, RIP) who knows? I suspect the bad ones really are just much worse though.
I'm in! Don't feel like emailing you though, lol. Love your stuff dude, keep the vids coming. You just reminded me, I need a new Meerschaum Cob. Catch you all again soon.
@@sunset3052 Lowering your expectations destroys beauty. The artisans who are making these tobaccos and crafting good pipes are artists striving toward beauty. Making everything cheap for the sake of cheap is a quick way to destroy any value that well made things have.
Just found this channel. Been smoking medium priced cigars for a couple decades. 8 to 12 bucks a stick range. Tried a couple different pipes and tobaccos and never was impressed. Wife might let me smoke a pipe in the house but then would probably have to be the stuff cased with raisons or cherrys. I like fine aged straight tobacco. Suggestions?
You missed the mark for me on this one. Intentionally buying something of lesser quality just to lower your own standards is silly. Instead, practice self discipline. Set and stick to a tobacco budget. Set that budget lower than you want to and go from there. Being comfortable with being uncomfortable doesn't mean denying yourself pleasure, but it does mean controlling and moderating your times spent seeking that pleasure. Also, I think you are just a troll with that lighter. Well played.
Escudo, Old Dublin, Orlik Golden Slices, Epiphany, Erinmore (flake), Capstan (blue). Not in this order, necessarily. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷 South America. Nathan.
Just for the Record pipe smoking in the House does not hurt anything. It does not discolor the walls or the wood work . Since pipe tobacco is all Natural it evaporates and is gone . Unlike cigarettes which will leave a nasty smell and color on your walls and brown nicotine stains everywhere. So light up and enjoy your pipe !
I smoke cheap Prince Albert or Carter Hall almost daily. Buy it at my local grocery store. Have lots of other expensive options, but I prefer Prince Albert in most situations. Usually it’s smoked out of a corn cob, which I also prefer for my daily smokes.
I thought you were gonna say Virginia and little bit of perique is the perfect blend for pipe Tabacco, which is usually cheaper. But got a manhood lecture instead.
you aware of the audio of the beginning being cut out? edit .... im using wireless headphones... when i pull both out i can hear when ones in the charger i cant hear your speech
Trying to make everything easier for yourself, in the end, only makes everything harder for you. You go long enough taking the elevator because you don't like taking the stairs and you won't be physically capable of taking the stairs.
Don’t know if anyone has said this yet, but the audio tracks on this video seem split between left and right. I usually use just my right ear bud to listen to videos and most of the audio isn’t playing, no voice, just music. Just FYI. Keep up the great videos!
Hey brother not sure if it was intentional and your planning on side loading this somewhere else or something but I think this one came out half baked. I'd love to watch it when I can hear your voice on something other than the ad lol!
The whole point of pipe smoking is that it’s supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing. Why smoke in the first place if the tobacco is subpar and not enjoyable?
Read the description folks. It’s a video about the simple things in life that cost much less and give so much more. It’s not just about tobacco. Great video.
Scandinavian Tobacco they own Lane Limited. They make all the private label tobacco's for tinder box and I think Dunhill . Also Smokers Pride. It's all pretty much the same product.
eh, yes and no. yes, as in i appreciate (and can even respect) the sentiment, but also a no, as certain tobacco blends and processes are quantifiably superior quality wise (smoke texture, flavor, smoothness, harshness, etc.) to a cheaper product. in the end, it comes down to individual choice and preferences. The issue i take most offence to socially is the notion that somehow i'm (or other like minded individuals, are) somehow lesser of a human being to other pipe smokers because i may make fiscal choices that allow for cheaper bulk tobacco versus the limited edition, tinned, bricked, special process, always rediculously high priced, tobaccos (that's mostly fancy bougie marketing bullshite anyway to push product) that constantly seem to be covered in most vlogs. A sort of bourgeoisie attitude that has always existed and generally infected in what could be considered a luxury product constantly driving up prices as an ephemeral sign of some falsely percieved notion of social status. like wine, the mentality has permeated into various cultures across many disciplines (like the beer industry, watches, cars, or any product where human ego intercedes to determine social status or inherient value.) to the detriment of mankind and general enjoyment. I own no fancy pipes, chosing instead to use the same pipes i've used for the past 30 years that i acquired inexpensively long ago as a youngish man, and the notion of spending exorbitant amounts of money on something as utensil as a tobacco pipe anathema to sound fiscal responsibility. that being said, to each their own. smoke what you like, but don't begrudge my personal choices. we all walk a different path than that of the next person.
While the point is interesting - I'm afraid the idea is counter productive. One may rise a question - why do I smoke a pipe? For me, the reasons would be a taste and some form of aesthetic/a unique form of time catching. In this scenario if I have to choose between fine and cheap (bad) tabacco I would rather choose to not smoke than smoke bad one. I'm very interested if you would imply the same idea for literature - is it better to lower expecations and read bad books? Why do I need my mind to be blunted? In my opinion it is better not to read than read poorly written book. Summarizing - you can put yourself in "ascetic" situations - sleep on the ground, eat blunt food and drink dirty water - but why do things which should somehow develop you (or accompany during the process) the hard and not smart way? Isn't it like hitting a nail with your own head just for skull hardening, while having a hammer in bag? Cheers from Poland, sorry for any mistakes in language matter.
I agree. As much as I enjoy watching these videos, I feel as if he strives for a stereotypical sense of manliness. While certain situations and hardships definitely do develop us and raise our tolerance for inconvenience, our ancestors did not enjoy them, they just couldn't choose any other way. Surrounding ourselves with asceticism in a long way may lead to just not enjoying experiences. If you're choosing to smoke a cheap tobacco in a cheap pipe out of principle, why stop there? Why not drink the cheapest beer? Why not drive the most clunky car, sleep in the cheapest bed, in a cheap bed, in a house without all those modern conveniences? I am not sure if doing all that will make any person truly better. More prepared for inconveniences - yes, but in terms of enriching personality, I have doubts.
Hi, I really like your youtube channel, and I am like you, I do what I want to do and I don't care what others say about how I light my pipe or that I I even by cheap tobacco. I just subscribed to your channel and liked the video.
First time commenting on your channel. Been lurking for months but I actually found you years ago. You're hilarious, and intelligent. My favorite combo for youtube channels. I'm detoxing right now due to health issues. But normally I use nasal snuff, all sorts.
to first do something for giving you another thing which you could also take without the work is a good system not to go to super lazy mode, we really have to push ourselves now, good video
I'm happy smoking my falcon pipe (an excellent smoker) and sutliff tobacco namely mark Twain and a few english blends. I've tried quite a few different tobaccos but haven't tried the older ones yet
Hi! I like what you're putting down. You mentioned emailing you if interested, but if we follow the idea/premise of this video, shouldn't I send a messenger pigeon? I kid. I kid. I didn't see an email for you, just links to a handful of dreadful social media apps. Alas, this message is sans the horseback messenger of yesteryear, but please allow me this one last instant gratification to be allowed to communicate my interest in communicating with you about the core theme of this video and the team you're putting together. I look forward to hearing back from you. All the best!
Captain Black is actually made by the Swedish Tobacco Group. A high quality tobacco blending house. I enjoy it as much as my PS Luxury Navy flake, 3 Nuns and my last tin of Frogmorton.
What is cheap tobacco? Are you saying those one pound bags of "roll your own" tobacco sold for a few bucks is the best that I can smoke. My fairly wide cellar says you really don't know the subject well.
Press of a button on an oil pen and you are getting medicated. It really is much better but we stress about anything impeding progress rather than simplifying what we have. There is so much bs that is not necessary
you make a good point however with chieap tobacco i think of really cheap tobacco, like the stuff you get at tank stops that has been standing around for ages and dry or with cheap flavoring that burns out after half a bowl. i dont see a tobacco shop houseblend as cheap even if it is cheaper than exclusive or limited edition tobbacos. as for the messege of the video i think instead of messing with the plesure of pipesmoking with the cheapest of tobaccos, just try a averege tobacco and really concentrate on the flavor, and in my experience it will be just a good as the expencive stuff and if you find a flaver you really like just make it your staple since ther in no real need to keep chasing new expeiences all the time, i atleast was happier that way.
I started watching your channel a few years back because you have alot of information of tobacco and was basically the only tobacco channel with any good visuals or good editing. But as of recently I'm not a fan of the political content primarily because when I smoke I'm trying not to think about political issues, so I haven't been watching your recent content so I was pretty excited to see what information you had on cheaper/more expensive tobacco but now I feel really click baited...I would prefer the old content but at the very very very least don't bait and switch your fans...
If you are not a fan of the direction of the channel you can always unsubscribe. There are a lot of other pipe smoking channels on youtube. Personally I love the new direction of the channel. Suburban Pilgrims are trying to make a positive impact and I admire that. Might not be your cup of tea; that's fine. We can just agree to disagree. People can have different opinions and still respect each other.
To be fair this video is perfectly in keeping with the exact style of this channel, even going back to the earlier tobacco videos there has always been an entertaining, philosophical, vlog style to them and the titles very often don't line up with exactly what you'd expect from a normal RUclips video. I feel the titles are quite often parodies of RUclips titles. I certainly don't see it as clickbait. The dude's making the videos he wants to make on his own channel. It's not an attempt to appeal to the masses.
Savinelli is hard to beat. ~$100-120 for great construction quality, and something I’m going to use for many years. Second, smoke (particularly heavy Lat blends) is a natural family repellent. Meaning when I sit in my formal living room, and fire up a FAT bowl, the family disappears into another area of the house. “Quiet Nights” is as the name implies. (Only you pipe smokers will get that joke).
English and Balkan blends for me. Instant wife free. Finally got my first proper pipe, a Peterson and it's an absolute game changer. My wife had the nicest pipe for years, I think I have her beat now. She has a Savinelli, but I wasn't keen on the churchwarden style, personally. She loves it.
to sum it up, being a snob and chasing quality stuff makes you not appreciate what you have and makes you less of a man since it’s easy to obtain, so cherish everything,
I very much appreciate this video. It made me think about the book; Hard Times Create Strong Men, by Stefan Aarnio. Which I bought 4 copies of last year. One for myself and 3 for my three Sons for Christmas. I am nearing retirement and am interested in what you have started. My free time at the moment is limited, but I'm going to give this some serious thought. Thanks again. Take care fella.
What's up with the audio of this video? Nothing comes out but music with the exception of the pipe kit review. Is this a RUclips censor or just my speakers?
Too much about soft people and almost nothing about why cheap tobacco is better. That being said, after trying several premium pipe tobaccos this year, I keep coming back to my favorites…the codger blends…Half&Half, Captain Black and Sir Walter.
I am with you. He sure went down the “soft men” rabbit hole. I’ll take a cob or cheap briar with some codger tobacco anytime over the expensive sugar coated blends. 💨💨
It matters little what lighter you use, however I think the reason a torch is not preferred for a pipe is you can easily torch the rim of your pipe. Other than that, you're simply preaching that you are right and anyone who doesn't agree with you is wrong and that childish among other things
What’s your preferred tobacco?
Escudo, Peterson deluxe navy rolls.
I'm big on Pirate Kake and My Mixture 965 right now.

@@dominicishmael Right! I really want to get like a 100 year old antique pipe, but I am not sure where I would even start looking lol.
As a pipe smoker and cannabis smoker, safe and informed experimentation is everything and never trust the price to equal quality.
Came for what I thought was going to be codger blend tobacco commentary. Got so much more. Thank you.
Im a fat lazzy pipe smoker.... i gives me great pleasure and hope for our country that your here to point it out. 😅
Because he’s a gamma douche?
Cause he's just making stupid videos w good production value
Shmuck is offering little
Pipe tobacco is already generally cheap. You can get quality pipe tobacco for less than $12 a tin. I have no idea what he’s on about.
Bro what happened to your audio? Why is it so teeny tf
Just found your channel, looking forward to watching all your videos. Great content.
What does tobacco have to do with all of that?
If you lower your expectation, things will be better than you think.
@@sunset3052 Lowering your expectations destroys beauty. The artisans who are making these tobaccos and crafting good pipes are artists striving toward beauty. Making everything cheap for the sake of cheap is a quick way to destroy any value that well made things have.
@@dominicishmael That also can be true to many others. Thanks for sharing!
I love touch lighters as well.

But do you have Prince Albert in a can?
I thought you were gonna say Virginia and little bit of perique is the perfect blend for pipe Tabacco, which is usually cheaper. But got a manhood lecture instead.
🤣🤣🤣 or CH, PA, etc...
Nicely done, great talk and the humor made it even better.
Well said! Thank you!
Great video and message!
Right on Bro .!!
That is so insightful. Interesting how one can find penance even with a pipe by using the “cheaper” methods you mentioned. Well said.
you aware of the audio of the beginning being cut out?
edit .... im using wireless headphones... when i pull both out i can hear when ones in the charger i cant hear your speech
Yeah same
I also use a torch when smoking with a pipe. It’s just easier and feels better. Love your video and your personality of being who you are. Rock on
Truth absolutely well said
Phenomenal subject matter and great content!
The whole point of pipe smoking is that it’s supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing. Why smoke in the first place if the tobacco is subpar and not enjoyable?
Great video! True Facts.
Thanks for sharing.
I hate to say it but starting with a dr grabow and moving up to a savinelli there is a big difference
No voice 😞
Soundtrack not working. Tried to reload 3 times...
Read the description folks. It’s a video about the simple things in life that cost much less and give so much more. It’s not just about tobacco. Great video.
The audio is super messed up for me
Scandinavian Tobacco they own Lane Limited.
They make all the private label tobacco's for tinder box and I think Dunhill . Also Smokers Pride. It's all pretty much the same product.
Dude you're brilliant.
eh, yes and no. yes, as in i appreciate (and can even respect) the sentiment, but also a no, as certain tobacco blends and processes are quantifiably superior quality wise (smoke texture, flavor, smoothness, harshness, etc.) to a cheaper product. in the end, it comes down to individual choice and preferences.
All inexpensive things are way better than expensive things .. to me 😂
Most of the audio from this post is missing. Bummer!
That angels envy is fantastic though. Spotted that over there.
I love smoking Captain black royal blue
Hi,
I really like your youtube channel, and I am like you, I do what I want to do and I don't care what others say about how I light my pipe or that I I even by cheap tobacco.
I love to smoke Captain black royal blue
Great Job! I agree!
I'm happy smoking my falcon pipe (an excellent smoker) and sutliff tobacco namely mark Twain and a few english blends. I've tried quite a few different tobaccos but haven't tried the older ones yet
Indonesia have many variety of tobacco.. u must try it 💪😀🙏
To clarify. Did he tell me cheap tobacco, and items are better because I’m soft?
Man I don’t know who you hang out with but I come home covered in hydraulic oil and sometimes blood most days. 😂
Is it me or is the sound off?
Great Chanel and great videos, but I can't hear anything in this one.
I hear ya, however... I ain't smokin' Captain Black.
Captain Black is actually made by the Swedish Tobacco Group. A high quality tobacco blending house. I enjoy it as much as my PS Luxury Navy flake, 3 Nuns and my last tin of Frogmorton.
😅
@@usfaaartillerist I'm good.
There is so much bs that is not necessary
ive been looking for the exact torch lighter that you use, would you mind giving me the name / brand of your lighter good sir?
$5.00 an OZ? That is like twice what it costs on any major distributor website for 100s of premium name brand tobaccos.
So what’s the best cheap tobacco?
Audio is totally botched
you make a good point however with chieap tobacco i think of really cheap tobacco, like the stuff you get at tank stops that has been standing around for ages and dry or with cheap flavoring that burns out after half a bowl. i dont see a tobacco shop houseblend as cheap even if it is cheaper than exclusive or limited edition tobbacos. as for the messege of the video i think instead of messing with the plesure of pipesmoking with the cheapest of tobaccos, just try a averege tobacco and really concentrate on the flavor, and in my experience it will be just a good as the expencive stuff and if you find a flaver you really like just make it your staple since ther in no real need to keep chasing new expeiences all the time, i atleast was happier that way.
My brother got me that kit its awesome
Oh no the audio is bugged. Audio comes back at 2:18
I started watching your channel a few years back because you have alot of information of tobacco and was basically the only tobacco channel with any good visuals or good editing.
I don’t mind the recent vids but this was definitely a bait and switch.
Same…that’s precisely why I’ve unsubscribed. It used to be about pipes, tobaccos and cigars…
🤣🤣🤣
Something wrong with audio
the hell going on with audio
i smoke big 340 grams bags of whisky smoker's pride , it's cheep but the room note is magnificent
Smoking pipe tobacco regardless of quality is a luxury and counter to the point you're trying to make.
Plug some headphones in a d listen to this video..
Then re edit it so it's bearable to a headphone user..
Lol. You let your wife tell you where to smoke.
Wtf are you talking about? Good pipe tobacco is not that cheap. It varies according to taste as well
to sum it up, being a snob and chasing quality stuff makes you not appreciate what you have and makes you less of a man since it’s easy to obtain, so cherish everything,
I very much appreciate this video.
Maybe but if the expensive ones taste better they’re better
What? RUclips deactivated the voice audio with music ????
What's up with the audio of this video? Nothing comes out but music with the exception of the pipe kit review.
Is this a RUclips censor or just my speakers?
Same problem
Five bucks an ounce??? This price is sky high! My cheap pipe tobacco is $6.50 plus tax per 6 ounces.
Hey guy. The audio is just horrible. I tried to listen but no way.
