I work in radio in Alexandria, LA, the hometown of Warren Morris. Warren just guest-hosted a radio show we do here, and we watched this video. He had a good time reading the comments.
Warren said that he did get the ball back. The guy who caught it wasn't an LSU fan but sought Warren out after the game and said, "I think you'll might want this." He said the bat was one that he only used in this game, and it is currently in the LSU hall of fame. His batting gloves were given to a boy whose family was a friend of the coach. But only a couple of years ago the boy (who's grown up now) shipped the batting gloves back to Warren.
As you probably know, Warren did play in the pros for a while, and he has now been a successful banker in town for a long time. He is also probably one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

He is definitely one of the nicest guys you’d meet. Very humble. He gave me batting lessons years ago when I was playing travel ball and completely changed my batting game. Stand up guy, no doubt

We were driving from Louisiana to Tennessee on a church retreat for a week. We listened till about the 6th inning I think but eventually we lost reception and couldn't pick it up the rest of the way there. Of course we all thought we probably lost. I'll never forget the look on Greg's face when he burst into our room with the news his mom just gave him on the phone: we won it 9-8 on a walkoff homerun in the bottom of the ninth. I knew I would get to watch it when I got home because i told my mom to record it, and I did get to watch it. But it will always bother me the fact that I didn't get to see it live as it happened and celebrate in the moment. That part kinda sucks, I'm not gonna lie.
