I’ve always thought this was one of the most underrated sci fi movies ever made. Sure there’s some cheesy bits but the world building was really top notch and that last scene was just unforgettable.
Prometheus and the original Alien are the only films in the Alien franchise that I like, although I still think Alien should've been a standalone movie.
Prometheus is the movie that sold me on 4K last year. Picked it up Black Friday 2018 for the bluray and digital. Realized one day my Xbox played 4k so just popped it in to see. I had recently watched it on bluray so the details were noticeable.
Great review! i already had the collector's edition of Prometheus on blu ray but i decided to buy the 4k which looks brilliant and i'm happy i bought it.

You`re not alone thinking this is a good movie. Roger Ebert put on his runner -up list of the best picture of the year of 2012, giving it a 4/4 rating. I loved it and think it`s very under-rated.
I'm waiting for a 4k set to be honest. I have the 6 set in Blu-ray. So, I'm in no rush to upgrade this to 4k unless they do all of them. I don't like having sets in mixed formats personally.
2:40 Definitely a BEAUTIFUL Sci-Fi joyride. Especially love the 3D Blu Version. My beef (as a Alien/Predator Die-Hard) is how Ridley TOTALLY abandoned "continuation" from this film to "Covenant" by killing.....off.....Elizabeth Shaw !!! WHY, RIDLEY ???!!!
Being a sucker for pretty much all Sci-Fi, i love all the films in the Alien universe. Some more than others admittingly .Got Alien Quadrilogy DVD box released in 2010 and the rest of the movies on either blu-ray or digital 1080p. My Prometheus being just that a digital 1080p i'll probably gonna pick this one and Alien in 4K up next time my go to webstore has a "buy 10 for 100€" sale.
Great looking and sounding film. Fun to see the creatures from the alien movies alive and moving. Some of the character decisions have the naive horror movie logic to them, which can be annoying. I also didn't quite understand the android's motivations, which seemed to change. Still, a great and entertaining watch.
In the UK there is the 4K UHD Film Collection (Assassin's Creed, The Martian, Kingsman & Prometheus) for around £20, with all four films in their separate cases. I enjoyed the movie, thought it was a cool idea. I thought it was suppose to be part of a trilogy though? Alien covenant, then I thought they were suppose to squeeze another movie in to be right before Aliens ?
It is a trilogy. Call it a prequel trilogy the next movie is Alien Awakening which will come out in the next few years which will be a direct sequel to alien covenant.
The red on the “pups” that scan the engineers base against the dark scenery is amazing

Hi, Adam! How come you didn't use an upmixer like Neural:X or DSU on non Atmos / Dts:X content?
For reviews I use what is on the disc and what others would have access to on their personal setups.

I'm a fan of this title but was disappointed with the sequel. You can tell they just rushed it and for that it didn't pay off.

Funny e ough I've just bought this had slipcover here in uk too.
The movie looks great, however some of the characters and decisions were so brutal, it hurts the overall legacy of the franchise.
