- Straight from the archives of ROB: NE HISTORIAN comes a promotional video of NEW EDITION singing the song "WALKIN'" for the March of Dimes Foundation. The song, let alone the video, is EXTREMELY RARE! I'm in the process of opening up my vaults and converting my vintage footage to DVD. I truly hope that every NEW EDITION fan appreciates this footage. I know I do. The footage also includes clips from the "ALL FOR LOVE" tour along with cameo's from the Force MD's, ZORO, former NYC Mayor Ed Koch and Whodini among others. MCA released this as a promo video in February 1987. Please follow me on Twitter @ROBNEHISTORIAN and catch me on Facebook.com/ROBNEHISTORIAN
Life was so precious and full of fun back then.
Omg look at Ralph with braces 😍
I never knew he had them.
CodyCole80 yes he got braces in his mid teens then when NE heartbreak came out you can tell the difference with his teeth
They were so adorable back then. They all grew up to be handsome men!
I've always wanted to see more stuff between All For Love and Heartbreak. Those are the hardest videos to find.
This is beyond rare; this is vintage!!! The NE Camp has accomplished so much corporately and individually!!! They even did a Coca Cola commercial.
Make that TWO Coke commercials, friend
Today is my 1st time ever seeing this video. I'm one of the biggest New Edition fans in America
Sounds like a Jacksons track. At the end of the song you can hear Ralph singing in his falsetto and it sounds just like MJ!!!
Nicholas Hooper yeah.. that’s Rick falsetto
Yeah thats ricky
I always wondered when did Ralph get his teeth fixed. Never seen him with braces until this.
I was there, at minute 2:03 with Mayor Koch!!
This a legit well produced video for that time period
My God. The archives are DEEP!
This was awesome! Thanks for the post Rob! Others spotted in the video: Evelyn King, Isley Jasper Isley, and The Gap Band! This is so great.......let alone the quality! How refreshing to see the quality of footage during the All For Love tour! Thanks again Rob! -Steve
Right On...👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾There's also Whodini and The Force MD's...👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾
@ROBNYCNEHISTORIAN Rob, they even had a teaser video for it! They showed footage of the Home Again photo shoot, Bobby performing My Peragative, Ralph performing Sensitivity, NE on the tour bus & NE onstage (all 6)...I still remember everything. I boght it right then & there & printed the reciept that I still have today
I spotted Isley Jasper Isley and the GAP Band. And the 98.7 Kiss FM logo.
New Edition is magicalllllllll!!!!!!!!!
OH YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! IT FEELS SO GOOD! Many thanks, Rob for this footage! Between me & you (everybody on RUclips :) I was about to, probably still will, commission RITY & all the other archive footage companies for all NE footage. LOL! It's a hard task, but I've been working on it for last several months LOL
@ROBNYCNEHISTORIAN Thanks Rob. I remember this video was played once on Video Music Box and I never saw on there again. Luckily I taped that show and got the video in what seem like about million years ago on VHS. I have not seem this video in years, in over 20 years to be exact. DAMN!!!
March Of Dimes in effect mode!
Wow. I don't even remember this NE Video. And I've seen them all.....or so I thought!
YES RONNIE GORGEOUS @ 0:05 GORGEOUS!
@NOLAsoulchild Let's do it! We need to see archive footage. Let me know. Maybe we can double team them! LOL
Hold up Ralph Baby you kinda did sound like Michael 😩😩
WOW This is rare. And does Ralph have braces lol?
His teeth use to be crooked if you watched the earlier videos of New Edition. That's why he wore the braces.
great video..great cause I'm glad to see it ...thanks for the share ....these guys are truly awesome
😳I’m an 80’s baby/kid and don’t remember this at all. 😂 Thanks for the post. 👍🏾
@NOLAsoulchild Lets do it! After NE or Bobby's Behind the Music, VH1 list it's biblography where they licenced all the footage from. I wrote all those down, then did some research online. You can petition for the footage by phone, mail or fax, then a rep will contact you to see if it's for tv or movies. BUT, they do understand "labor of love" projects for beginning filmmakers...which I am. So, like I said, I'm working on it.
ahhhh the 80's good time!
I saw my girl Evelyn King at the beginning
OH WOW!....what a treat!
Man to cool this is rare as hell I appreciate you posting the video.
I love this old school nostalgia shit!
N.E.4 Life!
Thank you for uploading this!
omg force m.d's is in this how neat! love those guys too.
they used to be compared to new edition a lot and toured together for “All For Love” in ‘85
Ion know about that one especially considering the fact that NE had a bigger fan base, had more hits, headlined ALL shows etc etc and etc. Choreography- wise Force MD's were nowhere in the same league as NE. Force MD's AT BEST were more harmonious LIVE ON STAGE as a group than NE but other than that there's absolutely NO comparison between the two groups.🤷🏾♂️ None now None tomorrow None NEVER.😂😂😂😂👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾
@@SoWikkedTv you can watch the "Unsung" episode from Force MD's and their interviews and they said how they were compared to NE, just an older version but you're right about the fan base NE had but they were both equally great still to this day
@@jayporterr right on jack👊🏾👊🏾
This my jam right here!!!
Yo...Bro...I'm Saving This In My Phone I Forgot About This I Remember It Came On TV...One Love Fam...

Wow!🤩
@algetrig91
There should be plenty of video around that period of time for New Edition because they were trying to earn as much money as they can to get out of the linked MCA deal with Jump and Shoot Records. Between 1985 and 1987 was the hardest point of New Edition careers with firing Bobby Brown and getting duped by MCA/Jump and Shoot Records and the fact that Ralph almost left NE (reason why Johnny Gill was recruited), and they were growing up.
They did earn enough money to get Ralph braces to get his crooked teeth fixed.
Not to mention that each of the members including Bobby owed the IRS at least $250,000 in back taxes as well as well as having to buy their way out of their Jump & Shoot contract which cost each member over $200,000 dollars to free themselves from that slave production deal contract...they owed close to half a million each in debt as 16-18 year olds...
@ROBNYCNEHISTORIAN Great Job Much Appreciated ! :D When D'You Think You'll Release Da Dvd?

Bobby must be glad he not in this video.....Wow now I see why Bobby was mad at what they were doing. This song is so cheesy.
It's a charity song! Those types of songs are always lame with the exception of We Are The World.
Cringe and cheesy
