Just the strangest lightning storm I've ever seen. The lightning was continuous, as you'll see in the video, and lasted well over an hour. The video is not sped up, but I did slow down some of the really cool lightning strikes.
We had a lightning storm around 3 or 4 weeks ago. It was beautiful. We got some heavy rain while the storm lasted. You couldn't even tell we had rain 30 minutes later. We are so super dry and hot. We keep our AC on 76 all day and we use fans. Our electric bill was $900.00 for 2 months. This world is so crazy. California is crazy.
It was amazing to be able to take video of the storm. It was moving so slow, but I've never seen a lightning storm be so active for so long. I wasn't sure if I would be able to slow it down enough to get some of the really cool shots. It rained here most of Saturday and pretty much all-day Sunday. Stay safe and stay dry! 😊
If this was filmed last night, July20th, you could have just as easily been filming from my yard!!! The frequency of the lightning was like nothing I had ever seen!! Here in South Central Kentucky we watched the lightning show as the storm approached from the northwest. Luckily we did get a good rain shower and thankfully no lightning strikes were very close!! Thanks for sharing your video and stay safe!!
It was filmed on 7/20. I figured y'all where able to see it too. It was a long and slow-moving storm. It even got some major news coverage and Facebook is flooded with videos too. 😊
Thanks for watching. I'm trying to keep the videos coming but with our crazy summer schedule, it gets very challenging. I do have 120 other videos that you can binge watch 😊 Don't forget to subscribe and ring the notification bell so you can see when I post! 😊
This storm puts me in mind of when I was nine years old, my parent and us six kids moved to Florida. I remember just sitting in the bedroom with the lights off watching the storm. We had never seen anything like it before. We moved back to Canada in less than a year. I haven’t seen another one like that since. Thanks for bringing that memory back. I’m 68 so I guess that was 59 years ago. No wonder I forgot about it😊
Do you recall Leon Russell’s album “Carney”? One of the tracks laid the sounds of a thunderstorm over the music. That’s forever paired in my brain with that thunder & lightning show on that epic hitchhike adventure.
I do not but will look it up. I wanted to leave this unedited. With that much lightning I think there was only one rumble of thunder! I only slowed down the video for the really cool lightning strikes. The rest of the video is at normal speed. I did cut out one part where I went in and turned off the garage lights to try to cut down on some of the ambient light! Thanks for watching and I will look up the song! 😊
@@zioncreekfarm I’m actually gonna make a post tomorrow I’m gonna start posting every Friday. So I’ll have a Friday video but occasionally post on Tik tok and shorts
I oh so LOVE electrical storms. Thank You so much for posting this. I live in Texas in an apartment and am not able to see that much of the sky(live on 1st floor facing another bldg,😞). I really enjoyed this one and will definitely be watching it again and again. 😁 🌩 🌩🌩😁🌩🌩🌩
Each lightening strike is a potential fire start. The fire can smolder in trees or their roots for a week or two before they emerge into a forest fire.
This reminds me of a lightning storm I rode through on my way back to Michigan from NYC... hitchhiking just for added drama. If I recall we were crossing from O-Hi-O into Michigan at the height of the storm. Magnificent!
Golly, thats some lightening storm. Back in Maine when I was growing up we had some pretty gnarly lightening storms in the summer…..they were called heat lightening if the came without rain. That’s a lot of voltage right there!!!! Did you think to submit some of the slowed down ones to National Geographic? Seems like you would feel your hair stand on end because it really never stopped😮
@@zioncreekfarm I firmly believe droughts and hurricanes are avoidable. It just depends who is in charge of the button. If people knew or understood that, they’d lose their minds. No one would ever starve again. The technology exists… and yet. That’s why I focus on goats by the way.

My husband and I were camping at Mohican during this storm! It was beautiful! But, we did also get tornado sirens LOL
😲That's not good. The storm was really cool though. 😊
@@zioncreekfarm yeah it was beautiful! We loved the lightning.

Super intense. I figure cloud seeding is contributing to the unusual weather people have been experiencing. Who knows
Weird how probably not many people know what you just said, but I got you! 😊
