- Lahore (Urdu: لاہور) is the capital of the province of Punjab, and the second most populated city in Pakistan, sometimes known as the Gardens of the Mughals, after the significant rich heritage of the Mughal Empire. It is located near the river Ravi and the Indian border, Wagah. Lahore is estimated to have approximately 6.5 million inhabitants, which makes it the second largest city in Pakistan, after Karachi. It is considered to be one of the thirty largest cities of the world.
Since the rise of the Persian Empire, Lahore has been given the status of being the capital of nearly every empire that has ruled the region. During 1021, Mahmud appointed the throne to Ayaz, making Lahore the capital of the Ghaznavid Empire. After the fall of the Ghaznavid Empire, Lahore was ruled by various Muslim dynasties including the Khiljis, Tughlaqs, Sayyid, Lodhis and Suris. It was not until 1524AD that Lahore became part of the Mughal Empire. It was in 1585AD that Mughal emperor Akbar decided to make Lahore the capital of the Mughal Empire. During Akbar's reign he built the fort that was once the citadel of the city. After his death, his son Jahangir took over control and Lahore remained the capital for over a century until the Mughal Empire fell and the city was taken over by the Sikhs. The Sikhs ruled the Punjab region for over half a century until the British Raj took control and Lahore become part of the British empire until independence in 1947AD.
Mughal architecture can be seen at its full splendour in the Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort, Shalimar Gardens and the mausoleums of Jehangir and Nur Jehan. Various buildings originally built by the British (such as the Lahore High Court) still retain their Mughal-Gothic style. Punjabi is the language of the province, and is the most widely spoken language in Lahore. Punjabi spoken by the people of Lahore is known as Lahori Punjabi due to a mixture of Punjabi and colloquial Urdu spoken in Lahore. Lahore is largely thought of as the cultural centre of Pakistan. It is widely called the "heart of Pakistan" in popular culture.

I have visited the Masjid Badshahi. It was breath-taking. I had always seen it in pictures, but to see it in real life was overwhelming. Alhamdulillah, we got the chance to make Salat-ul-Maghrib there and see some holy relics.

The most majestic structure in Lahore is the Badshahi Mosque with its tall minarets particularly when they are illuminated during the dark night hours.

Quality of camera lacks but the evergreen freshness in the video is evident.
Majority of Punjabis whether they are Sikh, Hindu, Muslim or Christian would and do support Khalistan but are fearful of the Indian State Terror Machinery. So this leads to them denying this state or staying quiet on the issue. Let's face what is so great about being a Indian national living under daily corruption, poor education, unemployment, high medical costs and massive inflation. Khalistan is the answer to those problems for Punjab!
Sorry bro we don't want independence from Pakistan but we should cooperate with you for Khalistan movement and we can became brother countries

This video is from the time when I had 1 month to born :) I born in September 1990 and this is from August 1990. I miss the time in which you are living now. And yes 90s period was golden. We have saw both simple and modern time.

MrJefe29! By making that statement you give the impression that the consequence of demanding Khalistan is easier to face in England than India. You are right! But to seek freedom and preserve your religion and identity is the birth right of any individual. These such freedoms are unheard of in Hindu/India.

North West Indians are just as light skinned as Pakistanis. India is a very large country and towards the South and the East people are darker. But it doesn't matter about skin colour, the South Indians are very clever for example.

Well this video is only about the historic distric of lahore, good job, and the buffalows that you see are on the north side of ravi, suburb called shahidra, just before the tomb of jahangir. Lahore had made major improvements towards its road, traffic and residential developement in recent years. Did you see the two guys at 5.59? lol

@Kashmiripandit4life! Sikhs are treated better in Pakistan than they are treated in India! Remember 1984? There are many Sikh historical Gurdwaras in Pakistan and they have never been disrespected by the Pakistani people. Sikh Yatra groups are treated with great respect by Pakistani people and government officials. Life on the other side of the border for Sikhs on the other hand is very different! The call for Khalistan is proof of that!

Gujarat was about Muslims still thinking that they own India. Muslims have this notion that the Moghuls left India to them. So now with the help of Pak they are blowing up trains, temples, etc. Now we have to worry about Pak. But, beware, dont push too much or you know what happened to East Pak.
What I hate about you Hindus the most is that you think you can voice be the voice of Sikhs. We are not your brothers or protectors! You never hear a Sikh make these claims. We share nothing cultural or religious with the Hindu people! We are a separate people and have different ideas! One is to establish a separate homeland 'Khalistan'! This is our birthright!
Why do you say Hindus do not preserve Muslim religious sites ? Muslims shrines are very well preserved in India. The muslims get money from Indian government to go for Haj. So what is the state of Hindu temples in Pakistan ? Are any left ?
