It's more like a punk parody than actual destruction. It was consistently part of the act when performing Sheer Heart Attack. Yes, Brian is very protective of the Red Special. One time when there wasn't enough overhead storage on a plane trip, he bought his guitar it's own seat rather than consign it to the luggage compartment.✈🎸🤣
This song was originally written for the Sheer Heart Attack album, but was not included. It was finished for News of the World with its traditionalism of punk rock. Queen proving that any ol’ yahoo can do a punk rock song live on stage with Freddie’s shenanigans!! 😆
This song really supercharges the audience, the last rush before you bid them farewell. Queen spent a lot of time creating the rollercoaster that is their live shows and they still do. Their shows were always so exciting to attend and left you with a buzz that lasted for days.
Agree that this is not a great song on the album (IMO), but it fit really nicely into the encore for their show because of the level of energy it brought. Tie Your Mother Down, Sheer Heart Attack, We Will Rock You, and We are the Champions were all encores
Tie Your Mother Down actually closed out the main set, with Sheer Heart Attack being the first encore and We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions being the second
Sir Lawrence Olivier once called Freddie a natural actor, he certainly gets into the role of the 'Punk Rocker'. At the end there, Freddie couldn't deliver the last couple of lines because his mic was no longer working, wonder why?
Brian did smash at least one guitar in the early 80-ies because of tuning issues, it was a copy of his Red Special (Brian May's John Birch guitar), this Blonde guitar You can see in the clips for We Will Rock You and Spread Your Wings! Broken guitar was stolen and found in 2004!

Thanks for your Queen reactions!!!
Please, Holding on" in the bowl 1982 ❤
That was ferocious.
I see what you did there, Simon! 😁
@@mori1bundwho's Simon?
@@mori1bund haha!
@@TheBlackcredo Oh, that was just a coincidence? In that case, just google "Simon Ferocious & Freddie Mercury". 🙂
Silly ole speakers were in Freddie’s way. Notice how strong his voice was after almost 2 hrs in? Just love Live Queen. TY 😊✨💫

@@muc_michi Yeah, that does sound right - I stand corrected!
That’s Freddie’s real curls. He combs them down but here he probably toweled his hair and in came those gorgeous thick waves.
I have seen Roger bust up his drum kit and storm off in an early show to avoid doing another encore.
Apparently they had to stop the show to put the speaker back up
At the end, when Freddie’s singing, his mic didn't work because it had been thrown somewhere 🤣
Now you get it! About the songs and live performances!
Sir Lawrence Olivier once called Freddie a natural actor, he certainly gets into the role of the 'Punk Rocker'. At the end there, Freddie couldn't deliver the last couple of lines because his mic was no longer working, wonder why?
Sir Lawrence was right.😊
Really have they met?
Really have they met?
@@ManChan-w5p Sir Lawrence Olivier and Freddie worked on Dave Clark's Time production.
Didn't meet, heard recording of Freddie doing 'Time' from production of same name.
It was a punk parody just like in the album!
Sorry about this but I don't know if I put it in the right slot. But Brian May And eddie van halen" star Fleet " is the album
Listening to the crowd in the beginning it does seem to be the encore.

I'm telling you, there are videos dedicated to John's 'finger-licking". haha - Continue on with concerts, puleeeez. You're so good with them.
Freddie making fun of punk🤣🤣
Not a favorite but it looks like a fun live tune.
We will rock you is written by sir Brian May not Roger Taylor
