I appreciate all the knowledge and testing that goes into making these. These are on my bucket list to buy. BTW I think the slower playing helps to hear the tone better. You should play more often.
I love mine, Andrew. Nice to see you on this side of the mic. My only complaint is that it can’t be both high G and low G at the same time. It sounds so pretty as a high G tenor, but you reminded me here how nice it used to sound as a low G! These sound lovely.
Wonderful to see your creativity with different tonewoods, Andrew, and the revealing way you illustrate all of the tonal characteristics of your instruments with this demo. I am really enjoying your L1 Acacia baritone model (I only wish I could do it justice). Finally, thanks to the unique ohana and business you've created. It is such a treat to watch all the demos that especially Corey and Kalei produce and the customer service Veronica provides. May you continue for many years in good health, creativity and service to the ukulele.
Thanks Andrew, you had me at “Average Joe “ 😂, you are definitely not, if the run through was average then I need to reset my average bar level🫣. What a treat to have a Master Luthier talk through his bracing choices, reasonings and demonstrate. All the Baritones you played are class. I really liked Bracing 2 on the Mango, but have to say the last Tenor with the Merbau, Wowsers, right up there, loved it. Have a great week..
That's a tough call on the two bracing systems. At first I thought 3.1 sounded brighter than 3.2, but then by the end my impression sort of flipped. What's hardest to determine just by watching videos is the projection/volume, but perhaps 3.2 was a bit louder. My opinions would be clearer if I got to hold them in my own hands... so I'm eager to hear what you think. :)
Yeah I need to record again with the guys, it wasn't a great test. And for some reason youtube compressed the audio on this upload. The 3.1 is warmer with a nice glow especially when strumming, 3.2 is brighter with really distinct articulation, great power and balance as well, ideal for fingerstyle play up the neck. At this point I'm leaning toward 3.1 on basic tenor models and select other tenors for the 3.2. Thanks for the feedback!
Oh wow Andrew as the guest 🎉 I was only just thinking not long ago, wondering if Andrew plays ukulele and here he is 🤩 On another note I’m getting ready to purchase one of your high end ukes and would love some expert advice. I’m in Australia 😊🙌💛
Awesome! Let us know however we can help Christine. (Btw, for shipping to Australia, if you become a member for a one time $50 fee you get free shipping on all orders over $800 for the next year). Normal Fedex charge is much higher. But let us know with any questions on ukes. Mahalo!
@@HawaiiMusicSupplyTUS thank you, yes I would do the annual $50 fee for free shipping. I’m looking at a $2000-3000 Uke and want to make sure I’m getting one of the best. I already have a pretty good tenor but I’ve been dreaming of one made in Hawaii or one that is custom made or similar. Do you do zoom calls to shop so I can be certain of what I’d like? Thank you 🙏
@@christinetaylor2156 Yeah! Check out theukulelesite.com Look, listen, see what draws you in the most. Email us any questions and we can set something up to go over various options on a video call. Mahalo!
@@HawaiiMusicSupplyTUS Yay! I care more about sound and price than appearance of the uke. I really like the fact that L1 have the same sound as L2, but are several hundred dollars less.
yessuh!! aside from the great 'Oli we get to hear, it's nice to see and hear Andrew in the hot seat!!
Didn't plan on it but I was alone with all those new models. Mahalo Chris 🤙🏼

Will the cedar/acacia L1 be available in concert and tenor?
Yes

@@wyk3982 Nice, yeah those will sound really good.
You’re scaring me (at first, fixed later) with waiving around the case unzipped . . . with the uke inside! 😊
Nice wood choices; and I like the use of wooden rosettes over abalone (I just like wood more than abalone for feature elements). They sound good too.
