Thanks Ian. I know this video is a couple of years old, now, but I am looking at different tripod and head options, as I managed to break my tripod a couple of months ago and have not rushed into a replacement yet. This is very helpful. Also, the last photograph is gorgeous. Beech trees and their trunks are beautiful - one of my favourite trees. The roots on these trees, really enhance the overall scene. And the light in it is wonderful.
I switched from Nikon to Fuji as I wanted to carry less weight around. I had a Manfrotto geared head but sold it as it was to heavy. I watched your review of the Sunwayfoto and bought the geared head, most impressed with it , great for my macro photography and so light. I have a leofoto tripod and their range and designs are very similar to Sunwayfoto tripods.
The tripod looks good Ian. Although I can't help but wonder why you have your camera brand blacked out? I've seen this before. Is it just a case of avoiding advertising?
I always tape off my logos when shooting weddings, it just helps to blend in a bit more. It also stops uncle bob following me around asking questions about gear. Just didn't get around to taking the tape off before I filmed this video. 👍👍
Hello Ian, i am looking to start with landscape photography and videography for stock footages websites or semi professional use. Can you tell me if i should go for a used xt3 or a brand new Xs 10. Is the video and photo quality similar?
Nice composition you found there Ian - I avoid woods like the plague, way to much time wasted in trying to see through the mess lol That tripod looks seriously expensive, so I aint even going to look as I am sure it will be another WTF moment - all very well for you pros, but unjustifiable for us peasants.
