    I love what Kendrick did he really wasnt trying to start anything people are taking his lyrics all wrong. Atleast now people will start to step their game up. He pays respect to all the different rap artists and everyone is just reading too much into stuff.

    ♛What we have just experienced was a very special moment. All of us involved in Hip Hop need to understand, this culture is a LIVING ENTITY
    ♛And our CONTRIBUTION to this ENTITY is what KEEPS IT ALIVE. Kendrick did right. What we must do now, is not dickride or diss him, but better ourselves
    ♛Im from Philly, but im making music in Santa Barbara, C.A
    ♛Ive done shows with Warren G, The Game, Yelawolf, Wu Tang & many more
    ♛I may never be big, but im thankful to be apart of this culture RIGHT NOW

    I come from the of old school era of hip hop, where the art of lyricism abounded. And for a long time what was passing as hip hop disheartened me. This cat made me excited about hip hop again. Up your game or bow down.

    Kendrick already a legend, he is simply showing the immense gap between his talent and the rest. Really exciting year for Hip hop and if this is what is going to take to bring people's "A" game then I welcome all the "dissing" (more like a call to arms from Kendrick, then anything else really.)

    This dude Kendrick did something that are favorite rappers did, and that's being a spark to HipHop! The fact that he has to explain each line is simply stupid. Kendrick is dope as hell, like it was said "Kendrick's verse is like Jordan's 55 in the garden".

    Kendrick is an artist and he's trying to be the BEST like Tupac, BIG, Eminem, Nas, and Jay Z...he even mention Andre 3000!! Kendrick is a lyricist and wants to be a voice for the future. He wasn't trying to diss or claim that "he's king of NY"...he just wants to be the BEST in LA and NY!! Once you've mastered your skills in those 2 coast, you've MADE!!!
    Coming from a West coast point of view.

      I think they just got caught off guard. Kendrick blindsided everyone and, as we all know, it all depends on the mood you're in when you first hear something - as to how you respond.
      .
      It's like when multiple people read the same text message and some get the sarcasm, or the subtext, while others completely miss it and react like fools

  • @GlitteratiRecords

    I love how cool, smart, and humble this dude kendrick is and it really did make everyone look very very stupid who took this verse out of context. Every rapper who did basically was thirsty and was looking for opportunity like Kendrick said. But one thing that I haven't heard was anybody comment on how although putting verses out like this will gain attention but it also puts more pressure on him to remain great which i'm sure he doesn't mind at all!

    Kendrick is doing his thing. Took me a while to get on the wave. But I like his music. Control verse was sick. So many double standard metaphor. Even the king of NY line was crazy. To me Kendrick is Hip Hop best artist of 2013. A lot of good music and he woke the rap/hiphop world. Plus that remix of Miguel's how many drink was crazy very big hit. Plus let's not forget the very great album good kid maad city. I just hope this success don't get to his head. Stay hungry and work.

    EXACTLY!!! I'm from T-Dot but I can't even deny that AS soon as the East Coast went quiet in hip hop. Or when the East Coast sound was copying the south. That's when hip hop strayed. I am not saying that there shouldn't be hip hop from all over. I am just pointing to the fact that EVERY region needs to put out and have their OWN sound... AND the artist first and foremost need to be ALL ABOUT BARS!!!

    Love this guy's music, humility, personality an everything! Besides Cole who is my FB relatively new artist he is the best artist to come out in the last 10 years.. I'm a female but I rap an wrote poetry long before that so lyrics, metaphors an wordplay have always been important to me an he is gifted in that area.. He tells his story like Nas, has lyrical dexterity like Jay, reps his hood like Big an has heart like PAC.. He is a complete artist an dude is my age, young an still growing

  • @kanonbennett
    @kanonbennett 11 лет назад

    You can't POSSIBLY argue Kendrick isn't on top of the game. Who is lyrically as good as him? No one. Kendrick is on a level in a league of his own. He's popular AND good. That's not always the same. He spits fire.

    It's comments like yours is the reason why there was ever a east and west coast beef. It wasn't the media that hyped up that war, it was fans that automatically chose sides and and made it a division between the coasts. Two people that had personal issues that spewed out into the media.

  • @JEFFCLEVANDR
    @JEFFCLEVANDR 11 лет назад

    I understand WHY the competitiveness over the verse has received so much attention. What I don't understand is why some artist feel some type of way about the verse? Especially the artist that Kendrick mentioned in "Control". He said point blank "I got Love for all of you niggas"... Which shows that it was not a direct diss but rather just a call out. To stir up a competitive battle between them. I'm glad he did this b/c he is bringing Hip Hop back to what it is suppose to be about........ BARS!

    i gotta be honest. im kinda lost. i feel like i grew up with rap music that was like a huge fist fight. it was a bit sloppy and rough around the edges but somehow kinda innocent... then i went to the kitchen to make a sandwich and came back and that fist fight turned into WWF, really theatrical and nuanced and sophisticated, but still, really melodramatic. i dont think its cuz im too old necessarily, i think its jus that what i responded to as a youngster is kinda gone now.
