- The Buenos Aires Underground (Spanish: Subterráneo de Buenos Aires), locally known as Subte is a rapid transit system that serves the area of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The first section of this network (Plaza de Mayo-Plaza Miserere) opened in 1913, making it the 13th subway in the world, and first underground railway in Latin America, the Southern Hemisphere and the Spanish-speaking world, with the Madrid Metro opening five years later, in 1919. As of 2015, Buenos Aires is the only Argentine city with a metro system, but there is a proposal to build a metro in the city of Córdoba (the Córdoba Metro), while a proposal to build a metro in Rosario was shelved in favour of a tramway network.
Currently, the underground network's six lines-A, B, C, D, E, and H-comprise 54.9 kilometers (34.1 mi) of route that serve 87 stations. The network is complemented by the 7.4 km (4.6 mi) long Premetro line, and the 26 km (16 mi) long Urquiza suburban line, with 17 more stations in total. As of 2015, the underground also has 4 closed stations, and lines E and H are undergoing expansions. Over a million passengers use the network, which also provides connections with the city's extensive commuter rail and bus rapid transport networks. ~Wikipedia

Hay mucho que envidiarle a los metros que tienen allá. Este subte cubre la mitad de la ciudad únicamente. El tráfico (y autobuses) son un desastre, al igual que el servicio de los trenes. Pueden parecer lindos estéticamente pero están muy mal operados.

Sinceramente, España no es el mejor ejemplo, el metro de barcelona está últimamente en huelga, las instalaciones son antiguas y el metro muy limpio no es que digamos.
@@enkaipritie4955 No sé como estará ahora el metro de Barcelona porque no he vuelto desde 1993, pero en aquella época funcionaba muy bien. Sí te puedo hablar del de Madrid y funciona perfectamente, han ampliado la red y cuenta con 12 líneas mas 3 de metro ligero y el material rodante es moderno. El de Sevilla, tiene una sola línea, pero es eficiente. Saludos cordiales.

The city of Buenos Aires has many places where it seems that you are in New York or Paris. big city.
Was there for 6 weeks when my wife and I got married there. Subway is definitely very convenient. Takes you to some sketchy spots though lol. Sometimes I miss that city cause I somewhat like the weather there. But not really a fan of the food there. Feel like their food is highly overpriced.
The Subway System Are in New York London Paris Toronto and on Brazil São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro

Thanks a lot for the video Tim. I was born in BA and somehow I do miss the subte a lot, even when a few times it was rather a nightmare specially during the hot and humid summer months.

Mentira, la mayoría no tienen aire acondicionado, hay que tener suerte para agarrar uno que lo tenga, o lo tiene pero no funciona. Y en los andenes es un horno tambien.

Saludos, soy de chile y espero algún día conocer el metro más antiguo de Sudamérica.
Chile tiene un metro muy bonito. El mejor sin duda.
Te recomiendo mas que el subte, que visites nuestros trenes de cercanias, en ellos podes conocer la ciudad ya que van por superficie y conectan con otras ciudades tambien.
Te recomiendo que hagas un viaje desde "retiro" hasta "tigre" en la linea mitre es un paseo muy lindo en tren para disfrutar y de paso que conozcas "tigre".

@@raulfootball3264 es el mas extenso sumando subte y trenes de cercanías. Pero todavía falta para ser el mejor. Sao paulo tiene una red mas extensa incluso con trenes mas modernos. Nosotros tenemos trenes modernos pero todavía quedan algunas cosas pendientes. Como renovar el belgrano norte y terminar las obras del sarmiento.
A nosotros nos faltaría seguir en el camino de la modernización que implementó macri. Y en un futuro próximo poder decir que tenemos la mejor red.

I'm impressed on how clean the subway is. Can't say the same for New York City though.
2:45 they were announcing the train was suddenly canceled. (something usual in Buenos Aires metro) so people started getting off to look for other means to get to their destination.
I was felt very fortunate to ride all of the lines in the Buenos Aires Subte when i visited about 20 years ago. The A line was still running the Belgian trains from 1914 or so. Line C had it's small workshop attached to the rear of Consitition Stn. Line B was third rail while the rest were overhead. The electric commuter trains from Constitution were overhead, while Once, Retiro and one other were powered by 3rd rail. Its grown a fair bit since then as Argentina seems to be investing in railway infrastructure once again. The metros in Brazil were much more modern and cleaner, but the character of BAs system is very cool like the city.
the C line also ran it's wooden cars from 1910 all the way to 2005 or so.
some modern C cars still retain their original labels and prints in Chinese.
we just don't care about standarized regulations.
Cars of line a are new since 3 years
riding the subte will teach you a number of things:
1- spatial awareness: either you guess the train's stopping distance correctly and stand right in front of the door, or you don't.
and if you don't, you gonna be last to board.
2- balance: try to ride the first curve out from Constitution station without losing it.
3- navigation: find your way through the hallways without visual aids, especially in connection stations.
4- short and long term planning: put your wallet, your travel card, your keys and whatever you need to take or put in your bag, in the correct position, and take whatever you need in one move... I remember memorizing the movements to get my wallet and pass out of my pocket without looking lol.
Love, i had #2 i don't ride it anymore but in the past i was able to make that curve without even grabbing the bar.

Yes, both metro and train systems were originally established by the British, hence the entire railway system runs on the left to this day.

Cool lamps in a car
O banco (assento) mostrado entre 1:07 a 1:18 aparenta ser CONFORTÁVEL. Considero os bancos de Metrô de São Paulo como PÉSSIMOS! Gostei dos bancos do MonoTrilho que vi antes de ele entrar em operação comercial. Penso que estão chegando trens chineses cujos bancos são mais confortáveis. Avalio como desconfortáveis os demais bancos do Metrô de São Paulo. Gosto de bancos de trem como o visto na abertura de alguns episódios de "Todos Odeiam o Cris", ou na cena de "O Espetacular Homem Aranha" na cena em que colocam uma garrafa na testa dele quando ele estava deitado no banco. Espero que algum dia aumente o conforto dos bancos dos Metrôs de São Paulo e Buenos Aires! Não estou querendo criticar nossos irmãos argentinos, os quais penso que foram roubados na Copa do Mundo de Futebol de 2014.

Buenos Aires también fue trazada en cuadras por Arquitectos Franceses toda la ciudad los parques Palacios y teatros edificios Fueron construidos por arquitectos Francéses y las estaciónes de tren por ingenieros ingléses Britanicos

La verdad no entiendo los que hablan de subtes o metro mas modernos ,si a fin de cuenta con que tenga asientos y aire acondicionado estan mas que bien ,la unica linea de buenos aires que no me gusto fue la que va por avenida corrientes ,no se si tendra todavia esos coches con asientos rojos medio esponjosos ,me parece que eran japoneses y parecian tan sucios ,no me gustaban para nada ...🤷🏽♂️
Los japoneses mitsubishi eidan ahora los pintaron y les hicieron mantenimiento general y también están los caf 6000 que no son tan buenos

Al gobierno de la ciudad de Buenos Aires no le interesa el subte (Metro) estan detenidas extensiones aprobadas en el año 2003, aparte su actual operador Metrovias (Grupo Roggio) ha reconocido hechos de corrupcion ante la justicia.
Muchas gracias por colaborar con la llegada del turismo extranjero!! cuando que lean tu comentario los habrás ayudado a decidir si vienen o no a Buenos Aires....Creo que no estamos en el sitio adecuado para realizar este tipo de denuncias. Aunque estoy 100% de acuerdo en tu comentario

Todas las lineas de Subterráneos de Bs As van por debajo tierra .. Los trenes son los que van sobre tierra y hay mas de 5 lineas de trenes suburbanos
