this was so sick. can't wait for part 2, 3, 7, 25. make as many of these episodes as you can.
Wolfie with “every golf course we have mentioned so far I have played and visited” 24 minutes in is seriously impressive
My favorite series you guys put out right now. Wolfie anytime you need someone to listen to your golf history lessons, sign me up!
The absolute most Neil thing, "theres not enough violence and death in golf" 😂
Our buddy Neil needs a geography and history class if he thinks Lahinch is in the UK.
If a geography teacher from Ireland could go over to the US they’d be a billionaire! 😂
I entered the comments to say just that, and here you are. 😂
We need the only public golf version. Bethpage, Pinehurst, Streamsong, Torrey ...
I clicked on this and said to myself "I hope they talked about how bad Bandon's logo is." That was quick!
Chanticleer in Greenville, SC. From the area, Classic video of the boys playing wolf hammer there from way back. Awesome logo
Prestwick did baskets first. They replicated last year to celebrate 150th open.
Dooks has the greatest logo in all of golf.
As far as golf courses people can actually get on and have been featured by NLU, the Diamond Springs logo with the 2 centerline fairway trees from hole 11 is awesome
Love everything about this episode. Must watch for serious golfers! Garden City Golf Club (aka Garden City Men's Club) is one of the best hangs in golf! Love the Thistle. National Golf Links looks like "2 men slapping each other". Fishers, Monterey Peninsula, and Golf De Morfontaine are dope. What about Shinnecock's iconic logo?
Laurel Valley is up there as one of the best.
Really pulled it out of the fire on a couple of occasions looping Ireland in under the UK banner.
love this series! keep it going NLU
Need to add San Francisco Golf Club, Piping Rock Club and Baltimore Country Club to the letters as logo discussion.
And Friar's Head with the nautical F & H!
Rules on wearing hats or shirts from a course you didn’t play? I’ve gotten gifts from friends that played amazing places but I just can’t stomach wearing them until I get to play. Thoughts?
Moccasin creek golf club! Classic simple gets the point across. Worth a look
Excellent class.
Some favorite animal logos:
Manzanita (King Sevie)
Sugarloaf Field Club (Loch Ness adjacent)
Dooks (Toad)
The Hay (Seal)
Landmand has been my favorite logo I’ve come across in the wild. So pure
The new 7 mile beach logo in Tasmania is the best logo in golf i reckon!
the extinct Tasmanian tiger with the golf club in his mouth is absolutely fire!!
How about some of these:
Bob-O-Link, Crooked Stick, Seminole, Shinnecock, Secession, Baltusrol, Scioto, Medinah, Myopia, Friar’s Head
Crooked stick is epic
I LOVE Rye but their logo is part of the Cinque Ports crest. Royal Cinque Ports (Deal) also uses their own adaption of the Cinque Ports heraldic banner.
Really hope Pasatiempo leads the discussion in part 2!
Also realizing that maybe Northern California could have it's own episode... SFGC, O CLub, LM, Harding, things of that nature.
Would love a discussion around Te Arai and Tara Iti in New Zealand. Very smooth logos
On the LACC logo, green and red are complimentary colors so they always look good together. The other combos are yellow-purple and blue-orange
Also one of my favorite logos is from Battlefield Golf Course in Kentucky. Just a small little public course outside of Richmond that doesn't really even sell merch, but the logo is a Civil War era cannon. And cannons are awesome. Also shout out to the Sweetens Cove whiskey barrel alternate logo
Some I like: Palmetto, Cherry Hills, Shipyard in Hilton Head, Seminole, Country Club (Squirrel), Olympic, Canterbury, Royal & Ancient, Tobacco Road, Ohoopee, Medinah, Olympia Fields, Lookout Mountain
Some disappointments: Kiawah Ocean Course, Sea Island, Hazeltine, Valhalla, any TPC especially Sawgrass
Pebble and cypress logos are class
Pinehurst Members logo is ELITE.
(Logo that includes a literal foot)
Neil: “I think this is a pretty classy logo.” 😂
To Minnesota logos. Midland Hills original logo falls into the "So Bad, It's Good" Category and WBYC is a Top Tier Logo.
Wolfie Extra Credit: What is the meaning behind the golf club logo for THE INSTITUTE?
Seminole gotta be in the top tier category
More of this type of content please. Australian suggestions Royal Melbourne, 7 Mile Beach and The National.
The bad, the new Golf Australia logo inspired I believe by the Scotty Cameron “For Tour Use Only” logo.
Monroe Golf Club in Rochester, NY is such a slept on Logo
Crag Burn Golf Club in Buffalo, NY as well - excellent logo
Some notable ones I felt were missed: Whistling Straits, The Cradle, Pasatiempo, Dooks, and Tobacco Road.
Waterfall Club in GA also has outline of lake with flag
Alexander Hamilton's birthplace (Nevis) is pronounced knee-vis, so mea culpa there please. 😉
Requests for round 2:
Myopia Hunt Club
Winchester Country Club
Savannah Golf Club
Colleton River Club
Sweetens Cove
Rye is an awesome course! Short but tough.
Great logos not mentioned: Prairie Dunes, Cal Club (Bear/shield), Pasatiempo.
Stonewall, Olympic, Myopia, Pasatiempo, Scioto need some shine
Fox Chapel GC logo is a good one.
Thoughts on Hazeltine National Golf Club? Silhouette logos are very appealing.
Chateau Elan’s new logo with the wine bottle is gas
Ca. 2010, my friend and I took a whole evening to select the best logo in professional team sports. Our finalists were the St. Louis Blues and the Milwaukee Bucks.
This needs to happen a few times a year.
San Francisco Golf Club is one of the greatest logos. Disappointed we didn't see it in the lecture even with the mention.
Am I mis-seeing the St Louis Logo. It is even better because it has the S and t and the L. That is fantastic!
I love this content. Thanks boys. Keep it coming
Wolfie should setup a 64 logo bracket for March and let the Nest vote!
Austin golf club logo is excellent.
thoughts on Gasparilla Inn and Gator Creek in FL?
cherry hills, erin hills, hammock dunes, ballyneal, spanish oaks
Can we get one with more (or only) public golf courses?!
Great stuff! Do Southern Hills in Tulsa, Ok
1000% agree!
@@andrewforbis5164 would love a rapid fire through all course logos of the places Perry Maxwell designed
Would love to hear about Bethpage and Pinehurst logos, two of my favorites
The Prestwick logo is also symbolic of the Scottish national flag, the saltire, which is a cross, hence the 2 clubs crossed😉
Would appreciate thoughts on Prairie Dunes and Mr Maxwells original Dornick Hills
Love most of these - gotta add the Winged O from Olympic Club to that list!
I’d love a meaculpa from Neil on calling the Bandon Dunes Puffin a Penguin.
Would love to hear Wolfie's take on Pinehurst having logos and color schemes for each course...or at least working towards that.
Just a way to sell more merch
Love this!!!
How are we gonna gloss over the Old Mac Ghost tree logo? Best one at Bandon by a mile.
Sick for sure. Also a B logo though. The OM logo is terrible.
@@smnorton2 Fair. Totally agree, the OM one is uninspired dookie
How do you discuss flag logos and not mention Belvedere? Mea culpas expected in part 2!
Wequetonsing Golf Club in Harbor Springs, MI has one of the best logos around.
I looked this up and am glad I did. I would rock that logo for sure.
The Bandit in New Braunfels. Top tier for me
Hazeltine National is a favorite of mine.
King Seve at Manzanita out in Oregon is as good as it gets for modern logos.
Sand Hills ... Simple. Class.
Pasatiempo should be in your top 10...banger.
Tree Farm
So impressive for a new course to deliver a timeless logo
I was hoping Neil, with his ATL roots, would have brought up Atlanta Athletic Club.
Links Club and Princes in the UK have the exact same logo?
It's Muary from goodfellas! The toupee king!
Doonbeg’s actual logo is an outline of the course viewed from the 18 green, making a D
That flower is the Scottish Thistle. Seeds came over aboard ship attached to both livestock (sheep) and immigrants clothing in colonial America. Synonymous with Scottish heritage world wide.
Check out Black Sheep Golf Club logo. Unpretentious men's only golf club in Illinois.
It’s a thistle - used in many Scottish logos
Southern Hills. Pink clock tower is top tier.
Enjoyed that, thanks 😂
Pasatiempo, imho, is the GOAT
Inverness Club, Kingsley Club and Oakland Hills have great logos as far as Midwest courses go
Do we like member logos that are different or just removing the words? Lost Rail in Nebraska has a great members flag logo.
Not mentioned but it is rumored that T.C. loves the Liberty National logo.
Pasatiempo
Just spent 2 weeks in the East Lothian and Fife/St Andrews area and discovered that Lundin Links has far and away the best logo…
Need a segment on widest margin between best golf course and worst logo. Has to be Crystal Downs, right?
Myopia and Fox Chapel dominate the animal logo category (fox division).
North Berwick has 7 different options for one good logo inside their logo.
Best new logo (public course): East Potomac (DC) 100th anniversary logo h/t National Links Trust
One eyed sea monster…lol
Witch Hollow, Ghost Creek, Vail Golf Club
Do a episode on Chicago!
This is fucking excellent. To quote Peter Alliss
Need more trees! 2 excellent ones from England - cleeve hill and formby
Love cleeve 👌
The patron saint of England slaying the dragon
Manzanita…hail King Seve
Couple for the next episode:
Indian Hills in Northport, NY
Dooks, Ireland
Waterville, Ireland
Hog's Head, Ireland
Ardfin is pretty cool logo
when is the next episode coming?
Should have got them on the record about Torrey Pines too. It's bad bad
it definitely is, but there's something so municipal about it. it looks like a logo for a forest adventure park i would've gone to on a 5th grade field trip.
Black Sheep GC near Chicago is the best logo
