There's an old saying, and even Freddie Mercury sang about it, that " .... too much love will kill you .... " Perhaps we are guilty of protecting our children from too many everyday happenings - the paradox being they grow up unaware as to how they should deal with certain every day issues simply because they've been over protected and they just don't know .

The "woke" are only half the story. Cancel culture cuts both ways, it's just that the "patriots" don't "cancel", they "ban". The only difference between them is where theit tattoos and piercings are and whether or not their hair is a natural colour. Other than that, they're all just spittle flecked narcissists owning one another and trying to top each other's virtue signals.
The saying on the wall of my child's elementary school says: "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words hurt forever." Such a sad change. I get that they're trying to teach kids that they shouldn't use hurtful language, and that's good, but they are no longer teaching kids how to let the negative stuff roll of their shoulders.
Oh that’s really sad. I mean in some ways it is true; the times I was beaten up for being gay don’t hurt at all, and I’ve forgotten them. The times I left a classroom and all of the boys stood backs against the wall and said “quick! guard your ass from the poof!” still sticks with me today. Getting punched in the face and having 3 month old milk poured over me outside the school gates? Whatever. The teacher nodding and laughing laughing when the kids in the classroom were calling me gay and making fun of me? Haunts me. But I think still “words will never hurt me” are a good idiom to instill in children, as a way to grow thicker skin and learn to live with mean people and understand that they don’t hurt you unless you’re open to it. And most people don’t experience the level of abuse I did.

I really don't understand why the babyboomers betrayed the legacy of the greatest generation by abandoning many of the values that made them great (turning to the "sexual" revolution, debauchery, etc.). This repudiation of the nuclear family then lead to broken and suffering generation-Xers, who then raised the extremely coddled millennials. Generation Z I hear is very robust, seeing the complete wreckage left by their parents and grandparents, and seem to be turning back to truth. We need to do some serious work to provoke a renaissance of truth in England and the West.

Friends was my student years and everyone watched it. There was a student intranet to discuss student topics but Friends was always on that board and the only thing I can remember which had any cultural impact because it was mostly chat about maths, equations and should everything be in base 10 rather than 12 and what is BODMAS? Friends was my student years and everyone watched it. There was a student intranet to discuss student topics but Friends was always on that board and the only thing I can remember which had any cultural impact because it was mostly chat about maths, equations and should everything be in base 10 rather than 12 and what is BODMAS? The one thing which really stays with me is how polite people were on there and how respectful to others’ arguments. Far cry from student boards today I’m sure. I was part of a moviecrew, for a childrensmovie, and everyone was wearing costumes and make up and hats and wigs.

I went up to him and said; 'You shouldn't say that. That's not a polite word.'
He responded; 'I'm sorry, I didn't know it bothered you. I won't do it again.'
That's where I should've stopped, but I was sortof motivated to go on, I'd been watching a lot of American t.v.
I said; Well, it's a very derogative term and very insulting and hurtful.'
He said: I really didn't realise that and truly didn't intend to hurt anyone. I just always call my friends that and sortof think of you guys as friend now, so.'
I said; 'Well..don't do it again.'
And he said; 'I won't.'
And I added; 'Because only black people are allowed to.'
And he replied; 'Why do you think I'm white?'
I replied; 'Because..well..aren't you? Everyone here is white..'
He said; 'Yeah I'm the only black guy. Okay, so thát was the deal here, you assumed I was white?'
