As a child, The Winter Gardens awed me far more than the interior of the Tower did. The Winter Gardens is an absolute treasure, an architectural gem with imaginative interior design.
I’ve spent many an hour in there watching different famous people Such a lot of history in the winter gardens so many stars have stood on that stage a very enjoyable video till the next one 😊
Oh, that is one of the most beautiful buildings in the country & the opera House oooòh Art Deco at its finest 👌 😍 👏 😀 can't wait for tomorrow's episode 😀 😍 😊
Outstanding video Stephen! 👍 Absolutely stunning! thank you so much for this wonderful look into this other worldly place. 💐 Who said Blackpool can't be classy👍
What a great vlog tonite. I was just thinking about all the famous people who has passed through the winter gardens. Beautiful building. Interesting tonite stephen. Thank u for all ur videos vlogs so good 👍👍😀
The Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ in the Opera House was the LAST Wurlitzer to be brought into the UK and installed in 1939. Its one of very few in the UK in its ORIGINAL location. Thank you, Stephen, for yet another fascinating and informative video.
I love the winter gardens, i have played there many time in the area brass band contests, The Spanish Hall being my favourite room. In fact the Brass Band Area Contest will be held there tomorrow Sunday 26 Feb. Well worth going to watch.
Whilst I'm sure your council doesn't get everything right at least they have taken greater care of their incredible architecture and continue to do so, Brighton as you probably noticed on your trip is falling apart, I had never seen many of these parts of the Winter Gardens complex before and I yearn for the opportunity to visit again as soon as possible. Thank you for the entertainment
Wildside Stephen this video is outstanding, one of your finest I have seen. The moving shots, the panning and tilting absolutely excellent. What makes it more exciting is this beautiful building the like of which I have never seen inside. That theatre must be one of the finest in England. Spectacular views to the stage from the balcony and stalls. What an incredible place. You deserve that hot tea Stephen I cannot wait for part II.
What a fantastic vlog! had me totally hooked. what an amazing building. Id love to see a similar Open Day to look around behind the scenes in the Blackpool Tower?
Absolutely wonderful video from start to finish, clearly loads of hard work has gone into this production. This is undoubtedly the best RUclips channel, in Blackpool, The Fylde Coast and beyond. We can always depend on Stephen's expert delivery of factually correct videos, covering history, architecture, entertainment, news, current and upcoming events and so much more. Thank you for this fantastic piece of work Stephen, I'm so excited to see part 2. 😘 xx
That was a bit good Thanks Stephen look forward to part two,a part of me was thinking about my fave pop group Level 42 playing on that stage in the Autumn of 21
Great informative video on The Winter Gardens open day back on January. Have been to open days in past years and it certainly opens your eyes to the amazing venues within the complex. A thoroughly interesting and comprehensive video and has certainly whet my appetite for Part 2. Thanks very much indeed.
A great video, thank you Stephen. What an an amazing place this is in Blackpool, and you're doing it proud with your camera work (I was almost getting vertigo on that upper tier balcony!). Well done!
Have seen shows in the winter gardens but did not know about the rest of the building what a place must be the best in the country Blackpool is so lucky to have this . what a video so much information well done so interesting can't wait to look at part 2 thanks

Absolutely brilliant video Stephen, I remember as a child in the mid 60s there was a funfair in the olympia end of the winter gardens. We also went to watch cats at the opera house in 1989. We sat at the top 3rd row from the front absolutely awesome seats, thanks for sharing this it's brought some happy memories back, can't wait for part two.👍

@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool I guess you notice it more in the UK because it's smaller, but here in the US we stayed in a hotel in the middle of nowhere and most of it's occupancy was taken up by Afghans brought in from the nearby AFB. There is definitely an agenda.
Looks like a very grand plaice 👍.. Stephen's videos have really evolved since he first started during 2020 lockdown 👍.. the maze cafe is a change from Wetherspoon's lol
Have always been to the winter gardens when we have visited Blackpool. You must have friends in high places to go behind the scenes? Very good video again.
Great video Stephen, always nice to see parts of Blackpool that's not commonly open to the general public. I was thinking to myself if that bar area that has the plastic walls I dread to think what would happen should a fire break out and what the smoke would do to thw lungs, so let's hope it never catches fire. But overall very fascinating to see from within the building.
There is always good event at Winter Gardens we did the Future yesterday (25 2 23) video is on RUclips just uploaded if like to take look, The Theatre is impressive I have been in the empress ballroom it beautiful
Two statues of Eric Morecambe, one in his home town Morecambe and the other in Blackpool Winter Gardens with Ernie Wise. Didn't know there was an organ but not as famous as the Tower ballroom Wurlitzer.
The Opera House Wurlitzer may not be as famous as the Tower, but it does hold a special place. It's the only Wurlitzer to be installed by the Wurlitzer Company, in a theatre anywhere in the UK. It is also the newest Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ in the world.
Just looking at the roll of honour, 1961 my year of birth Shirley Bassey , my wife went to see Shirley last year in Manchester so she must be 80 years of age at least.
The Eric and Ernie statue, by Graham Ibbeson of Barnsley (South Yorkshire). He also sculpted the Benny Hill statue, the Ken Dodd statue and the Ken Dodd bust in the Grand Theatre.
Loved both videos but you said you paid £8 in total and I've literally just looked to book a tour in April or October and the cheapest is now £15 whatever time of year! Sadly as there's 2 of us that's a lot out of our daily budget so your videos will have to do.
As a child, The Winter Gardens awed me far more than the interior of the Tower did. The Winter Gardens is an absolute treasure, an architectural gem with imaginative interior design.

@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool it was The Quality Inn, Burkeville In Virginia. Because of its location, there aren't that many people around to notice!
As you approached the organist I was surprised he didn't start playing the Lou Reed song "Walk on the wild side".
