No worries everyone is an expert. I think your set up is awesome 👍 contamination in mycology goes hand in hand. I average about 1 in 30. For agar i use K-Cups yes $3.89 at walfart 50 cups cheap. I also use grafting tape 😁. Keeps cost down and is easy. Keep life simple and stressfulness in life goes away. Mush love to you all 🍄 England first choice South Africa 2nd
i would omit the soapy towel part. it could introduce a lot of contaminants. i would just put alcohol soaked clothes on the edges of the SAB to it doesn't slide around. wipre all your surfaces within SAB with alcohol
Yes you are right. I did have a few contamination while using the soapy towel. I thought it would be a better alternative, you know for the enviroment, but i am switched back to paper towels soaked in alcohol. Thanks for bringing this to my attention
I don't think it really makes a difference. Both have sugar which the mycelium needs. The powder form is much easier to measure and work with than the liquid form

Yes agreed. Otherwise you struggle quite a bit but it still works
Do you put lids on dishes prior to baking or separate
I put the lids on before putting them in the oven. So that the air inside the dishes can be sterilized.
Is light malt extract better then barley malt extract?

How long did u put it on the oven? The screen showed 90 minutes but the audio sounds weird
I steambath the agar in the bottle for 90 minutes and i put the petri dishes in the oven for 20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius

Medium to high. The water must continue to boil throughout
